Local Leadership Information
Naomi Valentin, Program Director:
Naomi grew up in Laurel, Delaware. She went to Sussex Technical High School where she played varsity basketball for 2 years and JV soccer for 1 year. Both of Naomi’s parents are from countries in the Caribbean where soccer is the main sport played, so as she grew up she developed a huge passion for soccer. The World Cup was like the Super Bowl in her household growing up. Soccer is Naomi’s favorite sport; retired American professional soccer player Mia Hamm is one of her biggest inspirations. Naomi graduated from UMD with a Bachelors degree in marketing and a minor in business law. She also later received her Masters in early childhood education and Public Relations. Naomi brings forth a huge background in working with children and in public relations so she looks forward using all of that knowledge and experience to make sure the children fall in love with Soccer Shots.

Mark Seikaly, Program Coordinator:
Mark was born and raised in the Northern Virginia area and has been playing soccer since he was four years old. Mark graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Sport Management, has six years of coaching experience with soccer and basketball at the high school level, has been a summer camp counselor for a cumulative five years, and recently concluded an internship with the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals. He is extremely excited to be a part of Soccer Shots and help grow the sport in the community.
Jeff Homens, Development Coordinator:
Ever since scoring his first goal at age five, soccer has played a major part in Jeff’s life. Jeff joins the Soccer Shots team after an exciting past shaped, and perpetually influenced, by that little round ball. After graduating from Towson University with a degree in Sport Management, Jeff joined the world of sport sales, first working with a company based out of the Maryland Soccer Plex and then with local professional side, D.C. United. Along the way came opportunities to travel, attend numerous matches, and learn, again with that little round ball. Still active and playing, Jeff understands the impact one can have on a child’s life, not just in a soccer capacity, but as a human-being for the future.
