HOW OLD IS YOUR CHILD?
MY CHILD IS...
2 My child is 2-years old.
This class is designed specifically for 2 year olds.
The perfect program to start your 2 year old, the MINI program introduces basic, fundamental soccer principles through fun games, songs and positive reinforcement. Helps to socially introduce them to become comfortable as part of a group/team and having a coach. Great first activity for children!
3-4 My child is 3-4 years old.
We split the children up into the most age appropriate groups as possible for maximum development and experience of each child.
The CLASSIC program for 3-4 year old is the perfect introduction to sports activity and soccer along with being part of a team and having a coach. We offer fun based, non-competitive classes that teach the children basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting, while reinforcing the character traits that come along with being a good sport. We use the children's imagination in our approach so that they develop essential coordination and motor skills inadvertently while playing fun games. There are new skills and games played from week to week and season to season so you will never get the same class over and over again.
4-5 My child is 4-5 years old.
We always do our best to split the children up into the most age appropriate groups for classes for maximum fun and development. The CLASSIC program for 4-5 year olds is ideal for this age, as we use imaginative games in our weekly sessions to focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork, and appreciation. Soccer Shots Classic will expose your child to the fun of soccer and provide the foundation needed to get started into sports and move on the next level.
6-8 My child is 6-8 years old.
The most common things we hear is that "My child already plays in a soccer league" or "My child has never played, will this be too advanced?"
Our innovative curriculum extends beyond physical activity to incorporate values like respect, sharing, teamwork, encouragement and cooperation. The enhancement of a child’s coordination, balance and agility is often seen immediately, but it is the building blocks being created for a life long love of sports that have the strongest impact.
In each 35-40 minute class, we focus on having fun while guiding children through imaginative games that teach basic soccer skills. We offer three unique programs designed specifically for ages 2 (MINI), 3-5 (CLASSIC), and 6-8 (PREMIER). Our coaches are energetic and enthusiastic, are great teachers, and love working with children.
Children benefit with increased psychomotor development through fun fitness activities. Soccer Shots encourages the development of active lifestyle habits at an early age.
2 to 3 year olds
Soccer Shots Mini is a high-energy program introducing children to fundamental soccer principles, such as using your feet, dribbling, and the basic rules of the game. Through fun games, songs, and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active.
3 to 5 year olds
For nearly 15 years, Soccer Shots has been introducing soccer exclusively to children ages 3 to 5. Using creative and imaginative games, weekly sessions focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork, and appreciation. Soccer Shots will expose your child to the fun of soccer and provide the foundation needed to get started in the sport.
5 to 8 year olds
This program is for children who are new to soccer or who want to build upon what they have learned in Soccer Shots Classic. Focusing on individual skill, fitness, and sportsmanship, each session provides an opportunity for kids to be challenged through fun games and team competitions. Children will also be introduced to tactical elements of the game as they prepare to play on competitive teams.
Global Goals was born out of a vision that the Soccer Shots franchise community could join together and provide opportunities for growth to disadvantaged children, through soccer, across the U.S. and the world.
Global Goals and the U.S. Soccer Foundation
The U.S. Soccer Foundation’s programs are designed to keep kids active and healthy. They guide children away from negative influences by providing them with safe and healthy places to play after school – the most dangerous hours of the day. Players receive attention and support from caring mentors and coaches who work to ensure that they develop into healthy and successful young adults. The Foundation is working to build safe playing fields and bring the Soccer For Success model to economically disadvantaged communities nationwide. Through our partnership, we aim to raise funds and awareness for children who live in these underserved communities throughout the U.S. so that they have convenient and affordable access to quality soccer programs that support their physical and personal development.
Making a difference
In 2011 and 2012, local Soccer Shots operators donated a portion of each child’s registration fee to Global Goals/U.S. Soccer Foundation to build SportCourt playing surfaces at the B.R.I.C.K. Avon Academy in Newark, NJ, and Madrid Middle School in El Monte, CA. Children at both schools are now able to participate in the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Soccer for Success program on those surfaces. This program not only teaches children soccer skills, it also provides a positive mentoring experience with coaches.
In 2013, Global Goals fundraising was redirected toward the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s annual Urban Soccer Symposium. The Symposium brings together coaches and leaders from across the country who are making an impact in their communities through the game of soccer. In many of these communities, a child’s involvement in a local soccer program is the only alternative away from gang violence and drug or alcohol abuse. When the U.S. Soccer Foundation first approached Soccer Shots about the need for Symposium fundraising, we knew right away this was a no-brainer decision and made the commitment to extend our reach to the kids who need it most.
Beyond the U.S.
In addition to our partnership with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Soccer Shots Global Goals continues to support AMANDLA EduFootball, a non-profit organization working with youth in South Africa. The mission of AMANDLA is the advancement of education by the provision of sports structures, training and facilities for children and young people in disadvantaged communities in Africa, targeting specifically youth who are no longer in the care of their family.
