Regional Director - Austin and San Antonio
Glendon has played competitive soccer in both the U.S. and Europe continuously for over 35 years. Living in Germany as a child, he developed a love for the game at a very early age, playing for 9 years in the German youth system before moving back to the U.S. as a teenager. He then played club soccer while attending UT Austin. Since college, Glendon continues to play at the top levels of the Austin Men’s Soccer Association leagues, excluding a stint living in Spain where he played 4 seasons in the Barcelona International Football League and studied and lived the game up close from the world’s best.
Glendon is very enthusiastic about sharing his love and knowledge of the beautiful game to the next generation. He holds his National E Coaching License from U.S. Soccer and has coached club soccer at the U11 and U14 levels. He truly believes the game has many life lessons to teach young people and he is thrilled to have the opportunity to help pass those lessons along.
Integrator - Austin and San Antonio
Laura’s love of soccer ignited in Virginia during middle and high school. She captained her school teams five of six years while playing forward or outside defender before settling in at center midfielder. She continued on to play intramural in college and still plays weekly in the Austin Women’s Soccer League.
Called to impact youth, Coach Laura earned degrees from the University of Virginia and North Carolina Central University. She then taught kindergarten through fifth grades in North Carolina and Texas. She also brings experience as a curriculum developer and educational consultant. She began coaching soccer and swimming during college and has coached Austin youth for over ten years. She enjoys mentoring fellow coaches and thrives through the smiles shared with children as they build confidence, friendships and fun!
Director of Coaching
Greg has played soccer his whole life. He started playing Club soccer in South Africa for Moroka Swallows, he then moved to the US where he played college soccer at Texas a&m Int, he continued on to play professionally at Laredo Heat SC, Austin Aztex and Oklahoma City Energy FC. His favorite part about soccer is the teamwork it takes to succeed. Greg has coached kids at schools and camps since college. He loves watching a child grow in confidence and learn about teamwork while they enjoy playing the game.
Fun Fact: Coach Greg speaks French!
Kait brings to our team years of childcare experience, humor, and enthusiasm! She grew up playing a variety of sports including soccer, softball, and running track. Originally from Abilene, TX, Kait has nannied for several families, coached little kiddos, and enjoys positively impacting everyone around her! In addition to her passion for teaching children, she also loves music, film, and food!
Fun Fact: Coach Kait loves to laugh and is an aspiring drummer!
Marketing Coordinator & Elite Coach
Coach Arianne has been playing soccer for over 18 years! Hailing from the DFW area, she started playing for FC Dallas Youth, then IM in college, and in Paris, France when she studied abroad. Her favorite position is forward because she loves the challenge of scoring GOALS! Arianne also loves tennis, paddle boarding, and volunteering! She has lots of experience with children, having worked as a camp counselor, childcare supervisor, and AmeriCorps literacy tutor for AISD. Her favorite part about working with kids is their unfailing ability to find fun and joy in anything!
Fun Fact: Coach Arianne checked off an item on her bucket list in 2015 by attending a European soccer match between PSG and St. Etienne. So intense!!
Coach Janet joins the Soccer Shots team with countless years of early childhood service. Janet coached her son’s team for 2 years and loves children’s ability to have fun and laugh. A child’s uncontrollable laughter is music to Janet’s ears. Growing up in Austin, Janet loves anything and everything associated with the outdoors: camping, biking, scuba diving, and so much more. When Coach Janet isn’t in the kitchen trying new recipes, she is out front playing soccer with her son on their turf front lawn!
Fun Fact: Coach Janet loves all animals and volunteers at Austin Pets Alive every week!
Coaching Coordinator & Elite Coach
From Dallas, Texas, Coach Michel has been playing soccer for a majority of their life with over 20 years of experience! They started playing club soccer at age 10, and their favorite position is forward. Coach Michel loves little kids and is excited to not only teach children the greatest game in the world, but also to learn from them as well!
Fun Fact: Coach Michel LOVES watching cartoons, specifically Arthur being their favorite.

A Texas native, Coach Skylar started playing soccer when she was just 4 years old! Growing up she played competitive soccer for a variety of clubs and is a recent graduate of Concordia University where she also played on the school team. In addition to playing soccer, Coach Skylar also likes to stay active by playing other sports like basketball and volleyball. She has many years of experience both with childcare and youth coaching, and loves to see the way children progress while learning a new sport!
Fun Fact: Coach Skylar has lived in 4 other states!
Program Specialist & Elite Coach
Coach Serafina grew up playing soccer in Dallas, TX. She played left wing throughout high school and while on the club team at Texas State. She says that she loved playing on the wing because it gave her “full field involvement.” Coach Serafina is an active runner and plays pick up soccer games when possible. Her coaching experience includes working with middle school athletics. She shares that her favorite parts about coaching are providing a fun learning atmosphere and being a positive influence.
Fun Facts: Coach Serafina’s favorite team is FC Dallas! She also loves Adidas – the cleat and gear of choice for her – she is committed to the “three stripes” brand.
Coach Adam W.
Coach Adam spent almost 10 years playing the great sport of soccer. Before hanging up his soccer cleats due to an injury, Adam played mostly center-back. Along with playing pick up games, he now enjoys basketball and racquetball. Coach Adam grew up in Albuquerque, NM but loves life here in Austin. As a recent graduate of Southwestern University, Adam loves the music scene. His favorite part about coaching children’s soccer is the unpredictability and excitement!
Fun Fact: When he’s not coaching, Coach Adam is pursuing his childhood dream of becoming a Pokemon Master.
Coach Kay-Lynn grew up right next door in Manor, Texas so she has had the opportunity to take part in all that Austin has to offer. She loves going to the lake and trying new restaurants! Coach Kay-Lynn earned her Bachelor of Science degree from A&M University in Kinesiology. In addition to having experience as a pre-school teacher and nanny, Coach Kay-Lynn has also taught swim lessons to young children and loves to see their progress from the beginning to the end of a season. Coach Kay-Lynn loves to see them come to believe they can do whatever they set out to do if they keep trying!
Fun fact: Coach Kay-Lynn is one fourth Filipino.
Coach Amber started playing soccer at age 5 and from her first practice, she was hooked. “It was the first thing I was as good at as my big brother!” she says. Coach Amber played club soccer at Texas Tech and in several women’s leagues here in Austin after college. Nowadays, you can often catch her at the lake. (She’s the one with the big black pit-bull in a stroller). She has recently developed a love for trampolining, so keep an eye out for her at one of the local trampoline parks!
Favorite Soccer Position: Any position that she can score a goal!
Fun Fact: Coach Amber is terrified of snakes, sharks and the dark but is otherwise fearless!
Coach Lainie was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She studied social work and ballroom dance at the University of Texas. Her experience with children comes from being a pre-kindergarten teacher, camp counselor, orphanage volunteer, and nannying.
Coach Lainie always dreamed of coaching soccer. She started playing at the age of 6, then played for a Division 1 select team as a sweeper and forward. She was named MVP and captain for three years and led her team to the state championships many times. Unfortunately, a debilitating back injury forced her out of soccer for two years. Although she never regained her full strength, this did not stop her from returning to the field. She created her own intramural team at UT and is thrilled to be coaching the newest generation of young soccer players!
Fun Fact: Coach Lainie is an accomplished ballroom dancer and was a Teacher Assistant to the Professor of Social Dance at UT for many years. Her favorite dances are cross-step waltz, two-step, foxtrot and Argentine tango.
Coach Wesley grew up in Southern Alabama and has been playing soccer since he was five years old. He has played club, high school and recreational soccer for twenty years now! He loves working with kids and loves being able to help build a child’s confidence when they learn a new skill. His favorite position is mid-field and has worked as a referee for several years. If he isn’t outdoors running or hiking, you can catch him playing in pickup games all around Austin.
Coach Wesley LOVES to travel and has been to more than ten countries. Most recently, he has been to Italy and Mexico.
Originally from Las Vegas, Coach Alyson has been playing soccer since she was just 5 years old! She enjoyed playing fullback because she liked preventing the other team from scoring more than she enjoyed scoring herself. She continues to play soccer recreationally for fitness and also enjoys hiking, running, swimming, and playing tennis. Coach Alyson has many years working with children, both as a nanny and as a montessori preschool teacher. She especially enjoys seeing how innately energetic and curious they can be while learning!
Fun Fact: Coach Alyson used to work at a museum and once accidentally got locked in a cage with a bunch of dinosaur bones!
Coach Andre started playing soccer at the age of 3 in Plano, TX. He played on club and academy teams and later in college at the Eastern Illinois University. Coach Andre also played in Italy for three years, is fluent in Italian and has a basic level of understanding of Spanish and Japanese. Coach Andre shares that he loves working with children and seeing them take on new challenges, develop, grow and increase their confidence.
Coach Andres was born in Guatemala City, where he lived until he moved to Florida at the age of 18. Coach Andres grew up playing soccer and is a huge soccer fan. He hoped to play professionally until an injury deterred him. Coach Andres has coached young children in soccer before moving to Austin and loves to inspire future players of the beautiful game! He is fluent in Spanish and holds a US “F” coaching license. When he is not working his full time job and coaching soccer, Coach Andres can be found playing golf or soccer or enjoying Austin’s food diversity.
Fun fact: Coach Andres can impersonate any animal sound!
Coach Blake is a huge soccer fan! He has been playing his entire life and currently plays on a select club team as well as his high school team. He is currently captain of his club team and has held that role for several years. Coach Blake’s experience with children comes from the many children in his neighborhood who he has mentored in (you guessed it) soccer! He loves seeing their skills improve over time. Coach Blake also grew up in Austin and loves the Austin vibe.
Fun fact: Coach Blake was invited to Barcelona, Spain in 2017 to participate in an international training camp sponsored by Barcelona FC!
Coach Camilo was born in Bogota, Colombia and moved to Houston (The Woodlands area) at the wee age of one month! At the age of 3, he started playing soccer, later playing competitively on his club, high school and intramural teams. He continues to play soccer today, in between running and lifting weights. Coach Camilo is fluent in Spanish and shares that one of his favorite things about coaching is seeing children get excited when they score a goal. He says it’s also pretty great to watch the excitement on the parent’s face too!
Fun Facts: Coach Camilo doesn’t play video games. He does admit that he falls asleep most evenings watching Friends or The Office.
Coach Chloe is currently a student at the University of Texas. She grew up in Houston, which explains why she loves that there is always something to do in Austin. Coach Chloe has been working with children since she was in middle school and loves getting to know and understand each unique personality. She played soccer when she was little and basketball during high school, and continues to play both sports whenever she can. When Coach Chloe isn’t playing sports, going to classes, studying or coaching, she likes to spend her time cooking.
Fun fact: Coach Chloe was captain of the drum line in high school band.
Coach Christina (Coach "T")
Coach Cristina aka Coach T (her nickname all throughout her soccer career) grew up in San Antonio playing goal keeper for her club and high school teams. Coach T shares that while she LOVES San Antonio she really enjoys having so many opportunities for outdoor activities in Austin. In addition to running and biking she weightlifter and incorporates HIIT workouts into her schedule. Coach T says that she loves working with kids because you have the opportunity to make a positive impact in their lives everyday. Fun Facts: Coach T lived in Costa Rica for a year when she was 18. Her favorite food is spaghetti.
Coach Colleen comes to us from Atlanta, Georgia with many years of experience working with young children as well as years of athletic experience. She has been playing soccer since the age of 5 (in the position of right back) in addition to swimming competitively throughout high school. Coach Colleen continues on the path of athletics today as a personal trainer in addition to continuing to swim, hike and run. Coach Colleen loves watching little ones figure out new skills, but believes the best part of working with children is listening to their contagious fits of laughter.
Fun Fact: Coach Colleen is also a professional photographer and has worked abroad in Europe and South Africa.
Coach Danny comes to Soccer Shots with 18 years of playing experience. He played competitive soccer since the age of 4, through high school and during his college years as well. Coach Danny speaks fluent Spanish and Arabic and grew up in Cedar Park, Tx. He loves all the food choices that this area has to offer. Coach Danny has been a soccer referee in addition to his experience working with children. Coach Danny says his favorite thing about working with children is the purity they bring to everything they do.
Fun facts: Coach Danny is Egyptian and if he gets laughing really hard, he sounds like Scooby-Doo!
Coach Edgar U.
Coach Edgar has loved soccer his entire life! He played club for many years and later started his own team in the Austin Men’s League. An Austin native, he shares that he loves the culture, live music scene, easy access to nature and all of the friendly people. Coach Edgar recently returned after spending a year teaching in South Korea. He says that one of his favorite things about teaching/coaching is seeing children fall in love with being active.
Fun Facts: Coach Edgar has traveled to 15 countries. He is a musician and a music producer – he makes hip hop and plays drums.
Coach Greg loves all outdoor sports! He played soccer growing up, but currently spends most of his free time playing basketball. During Coach Greg’s soccer playing years, his main position was that of forward. Coach Greg loves being able to have fun with children while teaching them sports. He grew up in Austin and loves the outdoors.
Fun fact: Coach Greg is Columbian and bilingual (Spanish)!
Coach Jacob grew up playing soccer, baseball, football, swimming and more in Texas City, Texas. He continues to stay active engaging in a variety of activities and loves that Austin always has a new adventure to take on. Coach Jacob has coached camps for several years and enjoys seeing each child’s excitement build as their confidence grows.
Coach Jacob played Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical his Senior year in High School. Coach Jacob shares that the best meal he ever had was home-cooked in a village by the Great Wall of China.
Coach Jade started playing soccer at the age of 5 and has played ever since as a midfielder and has also been a soccer referee. She continues to play indoor and outdoor intramural soccer and has also been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu! Coach Jade grew up in Belton, but loves Austin and how many activities there are to do here. Coach Jade adores young children – especially how much fun they have. She loves to laugh with them and also loves that they are not too serious.
Fun fact: Coach Jade has seen the entire Royal Family (including Queen Elizabeth II) in person!
Coach JB has been coaching for 19 years and he LOVES soccer. He grew up playing soccer in Victoria, Texas and continues to play at Zilker park whenever he can. When growing up, he played soccer at all levels, including club and high school as a midfielder and striker. Coach JB loves the outdoors and all that Austin has to offer, including the running trails which he uses regularly. He has a Master’s degree in Education and is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has loads of experience working with children.
Fun fact: Coach JB is in the process of starting his own Applied Behavior Analysis practice for kids on the autism spectrum!
Coach Jeff grew up in the great mid-west aka Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. Early on he developed a love for soccer and the great outdoors. He enjoys rock climbing, bicycling, sailing, roller skating and when he needs to relax…a bit of yoga. Coach Jeff shares that he loves working with children and has a great time coming up with unique ways to capture and maintain their attention.
Coach Jenny, a San Antonio native, grew up with a love for the game of soccer courtesy of her father who is an avid Mexican National Team supporter. She shares that he helped her and her siblings become passionate about the game. Coach Jenny is currently working on earning her teaching certificate for theatre at UT Austin and shares that she has been tap dancing since the age of 4 – fast feet make it super easy to do step-overs and pull backs! Coach Jenny shares that she enjoys working with kids because they bring such joy and fun and make you feel so happy.
Fun Facts: Coach Jenny has 10 siblings (8 younger brothers and 2 older sisters. She also has two HUGE puppies.
Coach Jeremy has first hand experience as a Soccer Shots parent as his son has been enrolled in Soccer Shots for many seasons! Coach Jeremy grew up playing soccer in San Antonio and Houston, playing from the age of five through his high school years. He played as a goalie for all of those years! Coach Jeremy has lived in Austin for more than ten years now and loves the abundance of family activities available in Austin.
Fun Facts: Coach Jeremy can say the alphabet backwards in less than 5 seconds and came in first place in a turkey calling contest!
Coach Joaquin has been playing soccer since he was 5 years old! Growing up in Alice, Texas he played on various teams learning skills to be an amazing goal keeper. He played on his high school team as the goalie, and now is the goal keeper for his intramural team as well. When he is not playing soccer competitively or recreationally, he likes to play basketball and flag-football. As the oldest of 7, Coach Joaquin has a lot of experience working with children, and enjoys watching the excitement of a child when they master a new skill.
Fun Fact: Coach Joaquin can ride a unicycle!
Coach Joyce grew up in a very small town in the valley, where she played soccer for all of her childhood and learned to speak fluent Spanish. She played as a mid-fielder and was a starting varsity player as a freshman in her high school. Coach Joyce has previous experience coaching children to play tennis and says when she is around children she can’t help but try to match their energy and keep up with them. Growing up in a small town has given Coach Joyce a true appreciation for all that Austin has to offer, including her favorite activity: kayaking.
Fun facts: Coach Joyce swam with the biggest fish in the ocean, Whale Sharks! And has a Funko pop collection that consists of over 100 pops!
Coach Julie comes to us with many years of experience playing, coaching and teaching! She has coached both her daughters’ soccer teams and their basketball teams for many years and currently holds a NSCAA license as a certified soccer coach for kiddos under 10. Coach Julie played soccer growing up in Atlanta, Ga, where her high school team won state championship 3 years in a row! In addition to all that experience, she has also been a teacher with Austin ISD for many years. Coach Julie loves the ease of raising a family in Austin and also the ability to have so many outdoor activities, like running and camp gladiator, both of which she regularly participates in. Her favorite part about coaching is seeing the smiles on the child’s face after accomplishing a skill or something they have been working on in practice.
Fun facts: Coach Julie and her family have a rescue dog named Patches and a Leopard Gecko named Lemon.
An ACE Certified Health Coach and Certified Youth Fitness Specialist, Coach Kaci has played a variety of sports since she was 4 years old including volleyball, softball, basketball, and soccer. In college she played outside-mid on her women’s intramural team and loved being a part of such a competitive yet friendly experience. Her favorite part of playing soccer is being able to work as part of a team. Kaci has been teaching children ages 2 – 16 in various sports for over 6 years! She has coached a high-energy, fun, all-sports class for kids ages 3 – 8, swim lessons for toddlers, and also competitive volleyball for girls in 5th-10th grades. She loves being able to work with a group of kids for an extended period of time and watch them grow both as people and athletes. Fun Fact: Kaci had an amazing experience rescuing baby sea turtles in South Florida!
Coach Kelly comes to us after an impressive soccer career as a center mid-fielder. Not only has she been playing since she was 5 years old, she also had the opportunity to play for Stars N’ Stripes soccer tour, where she travelled to Europe to play in the San Marino Cup in Italy and Gothia Cup in Sweden. Coach Kelly does not currently play soccer, instead she stays fit and active through Camp Gladiator. Growing up in Colorado, she became accustomed to being outdoors and what she loves most about Austin is she still has access to many outdoor activities and there is always something happening. She also loves that she can take her Yorkiepoo dog, Lilly, almost anywhere in Austin. Coach Kelly loves the chance to cut loose and be silly with the kids she coaches!
Fun fact: Coach Kelly lived in Malmo, Sweden for two years and played on a local Swedish soccer team where she learned how to speak fluent Swedish.
Coach Kelsey grew up playing soccer as a goal-scoring forward in Friendswood, TX. She shares that moving to Austin has stoked her love for hills – there are so many great hills in Austin! Coach Kelsey spent several summers coaching soccer camps and says that she loves seeing the BIG smiles on each child’s face and seeing their confidence grow from the beginning to the end of camp.
Fun Facts: Coach Kelsey is a Political Communications major at the University of Texas. She is also obsessed with all things Disney (even her credit cards are Disney themed).
Coach Lily grew up playing soccer and currently plays on both a competitive team as well as her high school varsity team, where she typically plays in the position of right wing. She grew up in Austin and likes that you can find something new to do every day and it never gets boring. Coach Lily has experience with little kids through babysitting for many years and she loves being around kids and teaching them new things. Her favorite part is how eager and enthusiastic they are to learn and how they can make anything fun! Coach Lily says she is not fluent in Spanish, although she is currently taking Spanish 5 at school.
Fun Fact: Coach Lily is the youngest of 25 cousins and her favorite animal is a panda!
Coach Liv comes to us all the way from New York, where she grew up. She is getting used to the heat with all the outdoor activities there are to do in Austin. Coach Liv grew up playing soccer, with a total of 16 years of playing including high school varsity, and college as a striker. She continues to play as often as she can. Coach Liv has previous coaching experience and says it was amazing to watch them learn and have fun.
Fun fact: Coach Liv grew up on one of the top 5 cleanest lakes in the world – Lake George, NY!
Coach Logan comes to Soccer Shots having worked at a birthday entertainment center and has hosted over 200 birthday parties for kids! Coach Logan played soccer when she was young and then switched over to volleyball. One thing Coach Logan really enjoys about working with children is how much fun they are and listening to them laugh. Coach Logan grew up in south Austin and loves living in a big city because there is always something to do.
Fun fact: Coach Logan’s favorite color is yellow, favorite snack is Mango and favorite restaurant is Torchy’s!
Coach Madeline is another rare Austinite! The thing she loves about Austin is all the music festivals that come to town. Coach Madeline adores little children and working with them! Her favorite thing about children is their ability to get engulfed by their imaginations and genuinely not care what people think of them. Coach Madeline played soccer growing up and through middle school. These days she spends her time on the volleyball court and golf course.
Fun fact: Coach Madeline is the oldest of 5 siblings!
Having grown up in Ecuador, Uruguay and Peru, Coach Maia has lived in some amazing places! During her travels throughout South America, Maia began her coaching career with a varsity girls soccer team at a private school in Indonesia. Now with 2 years of coaching and 10 years of childhood experience under her belt, Coach Maia is psyched to be out on Soccer Island with her soccer friends. Maia loves the contagious enthusiasm children bring to each and every session. Having recently moved to Austin, Coach Maia loves the diversity and of course the yummy food!
Fun Facts: Coach Maia once found herself face to face with a spider that was the same size as her face! Yikes! She’s also fluent in Spanish and one of our go-to bilingual coaches.
Coach Manning has lived in 5 different states and 9 cities, but says Austin is his favorite! He loves the numerous running and biking trails Austin has to offer. Coach Manning played soccer from the age of 3 through college in the striker position. He confesses he LOVES scoring goals! In fact, he loves it so much, he led the state of Tennessee in goals scored in his first high school season! Coach Manning’s experience with children comes from being a camp counselor and loves to see how kids can find humor in anything!
Fun fact: Coach Manning plays bass guitar and mentors children in the foster system through individual weekly music lessons with the organization Kids in a New Groove.
Coach Marcello grew up in New Braunfels, TX. His love for soccer started at an early age and his playing career includes recreational, club, high school and college soccer (currently plays at Southwestern University). When he’s not playing soccer or taking part in an intramural activity at school he is no doubt out and about in the Austin area enjoying any one of the variety of activities that make Austin so much fun. Coach Marcello shares that through coaching and reffing he really appreciates how much “joy” kids express playing soccer – their smiling, laughter and overall energy is incredible.
Fun Facts: Coach Marcello is going to be remembered for the fact that he dislikes chocolate?!! And his favorite animal is a turtle.
Coach Margie has been living in Austin since 2004 and loves to tear up the soccer field! When she isn’t spending time with her 12 year old son and her husband, she is outdoors enjoying Austin’s greenbelt. Beginning her soccer career at age 6, Margie has played high school, club, indoor and league soccer. Her defensive skills are as asset to any team she joins! As she a coach, she has helped kids of all ages to better their soccer skills. Her favorite thing is to see her players succeed with big smiles on their faces.
Fun Fact: Her mother’s day tradition is tubing down the Comal River in New Braunfels!
Coach Matt grew up in Brazil, surrounded by soccer, so he is naturally a fanatic fan of the game! His preferred position is defense and he currently plays in pickup games whenever he can. Coach Matt also swims and teaches swim lessons, while attending college. Coach Matt is fluent in Portuguese and speaks limited Spanish. What he loves most about Austin is the festive and live atmosphere.
Fun fact: Coach Matt loves making funny voices!
Coach Meredith grew up in DFW but has since lived in every major Texas city except El Paso. She started playing soccer on a co-ed team at the age of 4, played throughout high school and continues to play recreational soccer today. In addition to soccer, Coach Meredith enjoys the great artistic and creative culture of Austin and of course – tacos. She shares that her favorite part of about coaching is seeing how enthusiastic and excited kids get when they learn a new skill and develop confidence in themselves.
Fun Facts: Coach Meredith spent the summer in Kenya hanging out with giraffes and elephants (and of course watching the World Cup). She shares that she can also count to 100 in Mandarin.
Coach Mitz is a native Austinite. He grew up enjoying Austin’s great music, culture, and of course playing soccer. He started a paintball league when he was in high school and later helped coach the team. Coach Mitz shares that one of his favorite things about coaching is bringing smiles to children’s faces.
Fun Facts: Coach Mitz enjoys bouldering and sailing. He also is an avid concert goer – trying to attend at least one a month (mainly Indie or Latino).
Coach Mondo is one of those rare people who has spent his whole life in Austin – and loves all the outdoor activities the city has to offer! Coach Mondo has been playing soccer for 19 years and has dreams of being involved with soccer at some level for all his life. He has experience coaching youth at soccer training centers as well as at the club level. His favorite thing about coaching kids is sharing his love of the game and seeing how happy the kids get when they are playing soccer. Coach Mondo also speaks fluent Spanish.
Fun fact: Coach Mondo was ranked top 20 in North America for Call of Duty!
Coach Nino S.
Coach Nino’s passion for soccer began over 30 years ago when he first began playing! He played as a young boy, played throughout high school and college and currently plays on an adult league as a midfielder and forward and as many pickup games as he can squeeze into his busy life as a dad and coach. Coach Nino grew up in a military family so he has lived all over. His favorite part of Austin is the weirdness! He speaks moderate Spanish and loves inspiring youngsters.
Fun fact: Coach Nino loves to rock out on the guitar!
Coach Nyssa grew up playing soccer in McAllen, TX. She played on her club and high school teams, anchoring each teams’ defense as the center back. Coach Nyssa continues to stay active through Crossfit and coaching soccer. She shares that she loves watching how each child’s unique personality develops/comes out as they play!
Fun Facts: Coach Nyssa LOVES pizza. She shares she could eat pizza everyday and never tire of it (she loves that there are so many unique pizza places in Austin).
Coach Paige grew up playing soccer in Beaumont, TX and just completed her collegiate career – playing center back for UT Women’s Soccer Team. Coach Paige continues to play soccer, indoor/outdoor and is also an avid Spikeball player. Her coaching experience includes the Kristine Lilly soccer camp at UT. She shares that she loves seeing the excitement on each child’s face when they score a goal – time to celebrate!
Fun Facts: Coach Paige LOVES ice cream! Loves – in fact this is one of her favorite things about Austin – all the great places for ice cream!
Coach Pamela grew up playing soccer in Lebanon. She carried this love of soccer with her to Austin, TX and still enjoys playing pick up games with her friends. Coach Pamela has volunteered as a Sunday School pre-school teacher for multiple years and loves to help little ones develop a life-long love for soccer. She recently took up the sport of tennis and when she is not out on the court or helping kids learn to play soccer you can find her exploring Austin and meeting new people.
Fun Facts: Coach Pamela loves to draw. She is also fluent in Arabic and French.
After growing up in Houston, Coach Phil moved to Georgetown to attend Southwestern University. Coach Phil has been playing soccer as a goalkeeper since he was 3 years old! He played for his high school and on a club team, in addition to playing on the Southwestern team. Some of Coach Phil’s other talents include speaking Spanish and playing piano. He enjoys all the concerts Austin has to offer and how exciting the city is. He has had years of experience coaching little ones and his favorite part of coaching is the kids’ excitement and energy levels!
Fun fact: Coach Phil has turned in his soccer cleats for golf clubs and has found that he is quite good at golf!
Coach Ryan B.
Coach Ryan was born and raised and Austin, TX. She has played soccer for 15+ years and currently plays intramural soccer in between studies at The University of Texas at Austin. Coach Ryan shares that her favorite part about coaching little kids is seeing how full of excitement and passion they are and watching them grow and develop their skills.
Fun Fact: Coach Ryan wants to be a surgeon!
Coach Sabur aka “Coach Big Beard” recently moved to Austin from the NY area. He is loving the warm weather and the friendly people and is prepared for the summer heat (as much as one can prepare). Coach Big Beard has extensive coaching experience including soccer, wrestling and teaching martial arts. He earned his first black belt at age 13 and continues to study martial arts.
Fun Fact: Coach Sabur is a two-time high school wrestling champion!
Coach Sal grew up playing soccer in Port Arthur, TX. He played forward on his club and high school teams. Coach Sal currently swims for Southwestern University Men’s Swimming and Diving team. When he’s not swimming, studying or coaching soccer he is out and about enjoying the many activities that Austin has to offer. He shares that his favorite part of coaching is watching each child have fun and grow as a person.
Fun Facts: Coach Nino was born in New York and grew up playing Pokemon.
Coach Skye grew up in San Antonio and currently lives in Round Rock. She loves all the shops in Austin, especially the video and vinyl shops. She grew up playing soccer and played throughout her high school career. When Coach Skye isn’t taking classes, studying, shopping or watching movies, she can be found at the gym working out. Coach Skye’s kid experience comes from working at Morgan’s Wonderland (a non-profit park in San Antonio, designed with special-needs individuals in mind and built for everyone’s enjoyment in an atmosphere of inclusion). She is also expecting to graduate with a degree in Communication Disorders.
Fun fact: Coach Skye is a big film person and can talk about film for days if anyone would listen that long. Her favorite artist is David Bowie and even has a portrait tattoo of him!
Coach Steph must really love the water as she has lived in both California and Florida during her impressionable years. She is a center midfielder with more than 20 years of soccer playing experience. She played growing up, all through high school and college and she continues to play in some adult recreational leagues. Coach Steph loves the game and misses being immersed in it on a daily basis. She loves to see how quickly little kids can adapt to the soccer environment and how they are influenced by the game. Coach Steph can also speak both Spanish and Portuguese, conversationally. She has not been in Austin too long, but already has a favorite thing about the city – the food!
Fun Facts: In addition to California and Florida, Coach Steph also grew up in Japan and she loves to cook!
Coach Sydney was born in Arlington, TX but grew up in Columbia, SC. She admits she started playing soccer at the age of 5 strictly for the snacks but ended up loving the game; playing. center mid and right back on her school, club and college teams. Coach Sydney is a certified personal trainer and shares that when she is not playing soccer with friends and family she loves to run, hike and take her dog to enjoy all the great outdoor options in Austin. Coach Sydney shares that she enjoys the fun, excitement and energy that children bring to each session.
Coach Sydney’s dog is named after Batman…that’s right Bruce Wayne! She also shares that a major item on her bucket list is to list every National Park. She’s got 5 down!
Coach TJ grew up in Austin and likes that he knows the city so well. Coach TJ has been playing soccer ever since he can remember – he has played on recreational teams, school teams and competitive teams. He can and has played every position, but happiest and best at goal keeping. Coach TJ has aspirations of becoming a full time competitive soccer coach and plans to begin taking classes to get his coaching license. His favorite thing about working with children is how full of energy they always are.
Fun fact: Coach TJ is a lifelong Liverpool fan and his coach’s nickname for him growing up was Spiderman.
Coach Uri loves soccer so much he plans to keep playing until he can do longer walk! He grew up playing soccer, but really started getting into it after the World Cup in 2010 and has loved it ever since. He continues to play as a goalkeeper and forward. He enjoys playing all sports for fun, including tennis, ping-pong, basketball and ultimate frisbee. Coach Uri grew up in Houston, where he was valedictorian of his high school and is currently a UT student. He loves all the outdoor activities there are to do in Austin.
Fun Fact: Coach Uri can make the noise of a water drop and loves to paint!
Coach Victoria, a Dallas, TX native, starting playing soccer at the age of six and continues to play today on her University’s Intramural League. She also plays intramural flag football and spends as much time outdoors as possible in Austin, hiking and enjoying Barton Creek. Coach Victoria shares that she loves coaching kids because they bring energy and enthusiasm to each session – they love learning something new!
Fun Facts: Coach Victoria was a pole vaulter in high school. She also shares that she got to go parasailing int he Philippines (she speaks Tagalog) and there is an amazing video that proves she soared up high.
Coach Will has been playing soccer since he was three and loves the sport. He continues to play for his high school team. Coach Will has tons of experience babysitting children, holding both a babysitting certification and CPR certification from the red cross. Growing up in Austin, he naturally loves the music and the food around the city, in addition to the mountain biking areas.
Fun fact: Coach Will is a freelance music producer and sound tech and his high school.
Coach Yara grew up playing soccer in Lebanon and moved to Austin, TX in 2013. She doesn’t get to play as much as she likes due to her studies but enjoys playing pick up games with friends and family whenever possible. Coach Yara says that she loves living in Austin, the diversity, the food, the music – it’s incredible! She is excited to work with kids and loves to see their confidence and smiles grow when they learn something new.
Fun Facts: Coach Yara has 40+ first cousins with ages ranging from 2 years to 26 years old. She is fluent in Arabic and French (just like her sister…Coach Pamela).
Coach Zach has led quite a nomadic life – having lived in 5 different states in his life, including Texas, Alaska, New York and Arizona! Coach Zach says the multitude of outdoor activities is easily his favorite part of living in Austin. He played soccer when he was young, but after spending time in New York and Alaska, Coach Zach was bitten by the hockey bug and played hockey for the rest of his youth years. He has coached youth hockey for several years and loves the excitement the kids bring to everything they do. Coach Zach is fluent in American Sign Language and Spanish.
Fun fact: Coach Zach has a coaching certificate from USA Hockey!
