Integrator - Austin and San Antonio
Laura’s love of soccer ignited in Virginia during middle and high school. She captained her school teams five of six years while playing forward or outside defender before settling in at center midfielder. She continued on to play intramural in college and still plays weekly in the Austin Women’s Soccer League.
Called to impact youth, Coach Laura earned degrees from the University of Virginia and North Carolina Central University. She then taught kindergarten through fifth grades in North Carolina and Texas. She also brings experience as a curriculum developer and educational consultant. She began coaching soccer and swimming during college and has coached Austin youth for over ten years. She enjoys anntoring fellow coaches and thrives through the smiles shared with children as they build confidence, friendships and fun!
Senior Program Coordinator
Kait brings to our team years of childcare experience, humor, and enthusiasm! She grew up playing a variety of sports including soccer, softball, and running track. Originally from Abilene, TX, Kait has nannied for several families, coached little kiddos, and enjoys positively impacting everyone around her! In addition to her passion for teaching children, she also loves music, film, and food!
Fun Fact: Coach Kait loves to laugh and is an aspiring drummer!
Marketing Coordinator & Elite Coach
Coach Arianne has been playing soccer for over 20 years! Hailing from the DFW area, she started playing select for FC Dallas, then on an intramural team at UT, and in Paris, France for the SciencesPo women’s team when she studied abroad. Her favorite position is forward because she loves the challenge of scoring GOALS! Arianne also loves reading, tennis, paddle boarding, and volunteering! She has lots of experience with children, working formerly as a camp counselor, childcare supervisor, and AmeriCorps literacy tutor for AISD. Her favorite part about working with kids is their unfailing ability to find fun and joy in anything.
Fun Fact: Coach Arianne checked off an item on her bucket list in 2015 by attending a European soccer match between PSG and St. Etienne and seeing Zlatan Ibrahimovic in action. So intense!!
Senior Program Specialist & Elite Coach
Serafina grew up playing soccer in Dallas, TX. She played left wing throughout high school and intramurally at Texas State University where she studied Exercise & Sport Science. Her teaching experience comes from coaching Middle School Athletics and Elementary Physical Education. She has always had a passion for soccer and shares that her favorite parts about coaching are providing a fun learning environment and being a positive influence.
Fun Facts: Coach Sera has been attending Dallas Burn/Fc Dallas matches since she was a child. She has also become a huge Austin FC supporter because of their growing impact on the community and strong focus on youth development!
Coach Adam W.
Coach Adam spent almost 10 years playing the great sport of soccer. Before hanging up his soccer cleats due to an injury, Adam played mostly center-back. Along with playing pick up games, he now enjoys basketball and racquetball. Coach Adam grew up in Albuquerque, NM but loves life here in Austin. As a recent graduate of Southwestern University, Adam loves the music scene. His favorite part about coaching children’s soccer is the unpredictability and excitement!
Fun Fact: When he’s not coaching, Coach Adam is pursuing his childhood dream of becoming a Pokemon Master.
Coach Addy is a native Houstonian with years of experience playing soccer and working with children. She started playing at 5 years old, playing club and on her varsity high school team, and then for a small club while in college. She’s known for playing right-wing but has experience playing all field positions. With 5 years of coaching and teaching children under her belt, her favorite part about working with them is making them laugh and watching them learn and grow. Coach Addy loves being here in the Capital City, especially all of the historical buildings.
Fun Facts: Coach Addy is a certified scuba diver and lived in Australia for a year!
Originally from Las Vegas, Coach Alyson has been playing soccer since she was just 5 years old! She enjoyed playing fullback because she liked preventing the other team from scoring more than she enjoyed scoring herself. She continues to play soccer recreationally for fitness and also enjoys hiking, running, swimming, and playing tennis. Coach Alyson has many years working with children, both as a nanny and as a montessori preschool teacher. She especially enjoys seeing how innately energetic and curious they can be while learning!
Fun Fact: Coach Alyson used to work at a museum and once accidentally got locked in a cage with a bunch of dinosaur bones!
Coach Camilo was born in Bogota, Colombia and moved to Houston (The Woodlands area) at the wee age of one month! At the age of 3, he started playing soccer, later playing competitively on his club, high school and intramural teams. He continues to play soccer today, in between running and lifting weights. Coach Camilo is fluent in Spanish and shares that one of his favorite things about coaching is seeing children get excited when they score a goal. He says it’s also pretty great to watch the excitement on the parent’s face too!
Fun Facts: Coach Camilo doesn’t play video games. He does admit that he falls asleep most evenings watching Friends or The Office.
Coach Chloe is currently a student at the University of Texas. She grew up in Houston, which explains why she loves that there is always something to do in Austin. Coach Chloe has been working with children since she was in middle school and loves getting to know and understand each unique personality. She played soccer when she was little and basketball during high school, and continues to play both sports whenever she can. When Coach Chloe isn’t playing sports, going to classes, studying or coaching, she likes to spend her time cooking.
Fun fact: Coach Chloe was captain of the drum line in high school band.
Coach Cynthia is an native Austinite who grew up in this soccer city playing–surprise, surprise–soccer! She started when she was 4 years old, playing on her local rec team and then progressing to club with the FC Barcelona Austin squad. She has worked with children in the past, and loves seeing them grow and how goofy they can be. Coach Cynthia loves all that Austin has to offer!
Fun Facts: Coach Cynthia loves crafting and she has a tattoo of a shark!
Coach Dana is a native Californian who now lives in Austin soaking up all the outdoors, great food, and, of course, sun! She started playing soccer when she was 6 years old, playing midfield and forward through her high school years. Now to stay active, she loves to lift weights, hike, and camp. Coach Dana has taught preschoolers previously and her favorite part about working with them is getting to be silly and imaginative!
Fun Fact: She has an adorable husky named To-to!
An avid traveler, Coach Dominique grew up in Toledo, OH, went to school in New York, and is now pursuing her PhD here in Austin! Dominique started playing soccer in Kindergarten and continues to play recreationally as a center forward. She has lots of childcare experience, currently working as a teacher for children ages 18mo-6 yrs, and previously as a camp counselor. In addition to soccer, she also loves to play basketball and volleyball.
Fun Facts: She speaks fluent Spanish!
Coach Emma hails just from outside of Austin, in Liberty Hill, and brings a love of soccer, running, and working with kids! She’s played soccer all throughout childhood, playing club, in high school, and later intramural in college. She also ran cross country and continues to run through all the parks in Austin. She has lots of experience with children and her favorite part about interacting with them is seeing them master a tricky skill and grow in confidence.
Fun Facts: She speaks conversational Arabic and loves banjos (but can’t play)!
Coach Hunter (Coach H)
A native San Antonian, Coach H is currently studying German and plays on an IM soccer, basketball, and flag football team at school! A natural athlete, he grew up playing soccer with his friends back home. Coach H has worked with children for 17 years, with a lot of his experience from teaching children with special needs how to ride bikes. He enjoys how much fun kids are to be around!
Fun Facts: Coach H has 2 permanently broken fingers and he doesn’t like cheese!
Coach Jeff grew up in the great mid-west aka Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. Early on he developed a love for soccer and the great outdoors. He enjoys rock climbing, bicycling, sailing, roller skating and when he needs to relax…a bit of yoga. Coach Jeff shares that he loves working with children and has a great time coming up with unique ways to capture and maintain their attention.
Coach Jenny, a San Antonio native, grew up with a love for the game of soccer courtesy of her father who is an avid Mexican National Team supporter. She shares that he helped her and her siblings become passionate about the game. Coach Jenny is currently working on earning her teaching certificate for theatre at UT Austin and shares that she has been tap dancing since the age of 4 – fast feet make it super easy to do step-overs and pull backs! Coach Jenny shares that she enjoys working with kids because they bring such joy and fun and make you feel so happy.
Fun Facts: Coach Jenny has 10 siblings (8 younger brothers and 2 older sisters. She also has two HUGE puppies.
Coach Jeremy has first hand experience as a Soccer Shots parent as his son has been enrolled in Soccer Shots for many seasons! Coach Jeremy grew up playing soccer in San Antonio and Houston, playing from the age of five through his high school years. He played as a goalie for all of those years! Coach Jeremy has lived in Austin for more than ten years now and loves the abundance of family activities available in Austin.
Fun Facts: Coach Jeremy can say the alphabet backwards in less than 5 seconds and came in first place in a turkey calling contest!
Coach John hails from Corpus Christi but moved early in his childhood to Georgetown, living in the Central Texas area ever since. He was introduced to soccer at age 8, then playing through high school as a midfielder and defender, and then IM in college at UMHB. He loves to play pick-up with friends and on a men’s league here in town. John’s most recent experience teaching children was leading the sports club at Garcia Elementary in Temple, TX. His favorite part about working with kids is their enthusiasm for the game and how excited they are to show him newly learned skills and scoring goals. He loves the diversity Ausitn provides, from its people, businesses, and opportunities!
Fun Fact: Coach John loves to sing! He can sing all of the Spongebob songs from memory and plans to start a band with his friends.
Coach Kelsey grew up playing soccer as a goal-scoring forward in Friendswood, TX. She shares that moving to Austin has stoked her love for hills – there are so many great hills in Austin! Coach Kelsey spent several summers coaching soccer camps and says that she loves seeing the BIG smiles on each child’s face and seeing their confidence grow from the beginning to the end of camp.
Fun Facts: Coach Kelsey is a Political Communications major at the University of Texas. She is also obsessed with all things Disney (even her credit cards are Disney themed).
Coach Kristen comes to Soccer Shots having worked with children with challenges at the Candlelight Ranch. She played primarily as a goalie for 11 years with her club and high school teams. She also played a little defender, wind and midfielder. She continues to help her younger sister with her practices as well as working out and the occasional pick up game. Kristen grew up in this area and loves going to Zilker Park.
Fun fact: Coach Kristen’s grandmother calls her “monkey” because she loves to climb, run around and be outside!
Coach Kyle was born and raised in Austin, TX and has been immersed in soccer for years as a player, coach, and referee! He started playing when he was just 4 years old and continued on to coaching a U-10 soccer team, and then also added referee to his resume–a position he’s held for the past 27 years! Coach Kyle truly enjoys teaching children and helping them to better their skills to be the best they can be!
Fun Facts: Coach Kyle was also a fire fighter and professional Santa Claus!
Coach Lane is an art and soccer lover who hails from The Woodlands. She grew up playing club soccer for 10 years and varsity soccer through high school. Her favorite position was midfielder! Now in Austin, Coach Lane likes to stay active by working out and playing basketball on occasion. She has experience coaching children through hosting private lessons in her neighborhood and coaching at sports camps back in her hometown. Her favorite part about working with kids is seeing how much fun they can have!
Fun Fact: Coach Lane got into one of the top 5 art schools in the country!
Originally from San Antonio, Coach Maddie joins the Soccer Shots team ready to make an impact! She grew up playing the beautiful game with her cousins during family reunions, playing any position where she was needed. She loves walking her dog around the Austin neighborhoods, exploring the city with her friends, and comic books! Coach Maddie’s favorite part about working with children is seeing their excitement when they learn a new skill and can’t wait to experience that as a coach.
Having grown up in Ecuador, Uruguay and Peru, Coach Maia has lived in some amazing places! During her travels throughout South America, Maia began her coaching career with a varsity girls soccer team at a private school in Indonesia. Now with 2 years of coaching and 10 years of childhood experience under her belt, Coach Maia is psyched to be out on Soccer Island with her soccer friends. Maia loves the contagious enthusiasm children bring to each and every session. Having recently moved to Austin, Coach Maia loves the diversity and of course the yummy food!
Fun Facts: Coach Maia once found herself face to face with a spider that was the same size as her face! Yikes! She’s also fluent in Spanish and one of our go-to bilingual coaches.
Hailing from Abilene, TX, Coach Meg comes to Austin with a long history of soccer and hiking! Beginning when she was just 4 years old, Coach Meg has experience playing all of the soccer positions but is a pro at playing sweeper and midfield. She also loves to hike (one of the main reasons she loves Austin) and is training to climb 14ers this summer! Whoa! Coach Meg loves working with children and sharing the game with them and can’t wait to get out on the field.
Fun Fact: Coach Meg speaks French and studied in France for a semester! On y va, Coach!
Coach Megan is one of our few native Austinites who comes to us with a load of soccer experience. She got her start when she was only 4 years old playing for Lonestar growing up. In high school, she then helped her team reach state (whoa!), mastering every position on the field, and later played club soccer at Texas State. In addition to soccer, she likes to stay active by running, taking walks, and doing Camp Gladiator. She’s excited to bring the joy of soccer to kids and help build that foundation that she experienced as a child, and loves to be silly and make them laugh.
Fun Fact: Megan has her own photography business on the side! 📸
Coach Meredith grew up in DFW but has since lived in every major Texas city except El Paso. She started playing soccer on a co-ed team at the age of 4, played throughout high school and continues to play recreational soccer today. In addition to soccer, Coach Meredith enjoys the great artistic and creative culture of Austin and of course – tacos. She shares that her favorite part of about coaching is seeing how enthusiastic and excited kids get when they learn a new skill and develop confidence in themselves.
Fun Facts: Coach Meredith spent the summer in Kenya hanging out with giraffes and elephants (and of course watching the World Cup). She shares that she can also count to 100 in Mandarin.
Coach Micaela started playing soccer at 3 years old and has racked up collectively over 15 years of playing experience! A native Austinite, Micaela started with Lonestar SC and played on the McNeil High soccer team as a forward. Now, she continues to her goal-scoring by playing on a rec team with some friends from high school. She has also been a youth gymnastics coach for the past two years and loves seeing a child grow passionate for a sport they enjoy and ensuring that they have a great time learning and playing. Coach Micaela works out every day, has a basic knowledge of Spanish and ASL, and loves all of the outdoor activities Austin has to offer.
Fun Fact: Her favorite color is ~*glitter*~
Coach Mika grew up in San Antonio, Texas, moving to Austin to attend the University of Texas. Her favorite thing about Austin is all the great food trucks. Coach Mika played as a goalie during school, but currently she enjoys skiing, dancing and swimming. Coach Mika loves to see how excited kids get when they see improvement! Coach Mika is currently in the theatre program at UT and loves to get into all the characters we play during Soccer Shots!
Fun fact: Coach Mika’s favorite animal is a giraffe and she plays the violin!
Coach Nino’s passion for soccer began over 30 years ago when he first began playing! He played as a young boy, played throughout high school and college and currently plays on an adult league as a midfielder and forward and as many pickup games as he can squeeze into his busy life as a dad and coach. Coach Nino grew up in a military family so he has lived all over. His favorite part of Austin is the weirdness! He speaks moderate Spanish and loves inspiring youngsters.
Fun fact: Coach Nino loves to rock out on the guitar!
Hailing from Houston, Coach Paul comes to Austin with a long history of playing soccer and coaching children. He began his soccer career through several camps and the Fun Fair Positive Soccer league, where he had the opportunity to play every position on the field. Now, he enjoys staying active by playing pick-up with friends, as well as strength training and mountain biking through Austin’s trails. Coach Paul is also a certified ACE personal trainer and has a Holistic Lifestyle Coach 1 license from the Chek Institute. He has worked with kids through his job as a personal trainer as well as interning at the Fit Kids Club daycare. He says that he loves the authentic energy kids bring and seeing them grow in confidence!
Fun Facts: Coach Paul loves scuba diving and has overcome Crohn’s disease!
Originally from La Porte, TX, Coach Peyton joins our squad full of soccer and coaching experience! Beginning at the age of 3, she played for 10 years with the Challenge Soccer Club as a goalkeeper and continued on her varsity team all 4 years. She’s served as a volunteer for the past 5 years as a coaching youth instructor for soccer camps in her hometown and earned a coaching minor from Texas State where she’s also currently studying for her nursing degree. Coach Peyton loves to watch children grow and progress in a skill and to see how willing they are to learn. When she’s not playing soccer, she loves exploring Austin and checking out the scenery and hiking trails.
Fun Fact: Coach Peyton has 4 pet glowfish!
Coach Rob–or RobTom as some know him–lives and breathes soccer. Born and raised in Austin and with over 20 years of soccer-playing experience, Rob knows the ins and outs of the game and the city. He had the opportunity to train young soccer players at a UT Women’s Soccer Summer camp and loved seeing their energy and spontaneity they brought to the field. In addition to soccer, Coach Rob also goes on runs, plays basketball, and dabbles in German!
Fun Facts: Coach Rob lived in Germany for a year and played soccer in the Amazon Rainforest! Could he be our next Miroslav Klose or Dirk Nowitzki?
Coach Sabur aka “Coach Big Beard” recently moved to Austin from the NY area. He is loving the warm weather and the friendly people and is prepared for the summer heat (as much as one can prepare). Coach Big Beard has extensive coaching experience including soccer, wrestling and teaching martial arts. He earned his first black belt at age 13 and continues to study martial arts.
Fun Fact: Coach Sabur is a two-time high school wrestling champion!
