Coach Lisa

Coach Lisa

In her 13th Season with Soccer Shots

Coach Lisa, a veteran of coaching, teaching and child care, joined the Soccer Shots team in 2012. With a degree in Child Development, Lisa has owned, managed and staffed centers for children for over two decades. Lisa’s passion for children and zestful energy is evident on and off the field.

Coach Miguel

Coach Miguel

In his 9th Season with Soccer Shots

A native of the Bay Area, Miguel earned a BS in kinesiology from SJ State, and is ECE certified. Miguel played soccer through high school, and is an avid youth coach (CYSA licensed and Positive Coaching Alliance trained). He has worked for 6 years with after school programs, and brings a savvy and fun presence to the field. Off the field, he enjoys playing soccer and spending time with his community and family.

In his 8th Season with Soccer Shots

A native of the Bay Area, Coach Art joined our team in 2014. He loves to play soccer and has worked as an assistant coach for AYSO for three years. He has also done some coaching at the high school level. As a father to a four year old little girl, he loves to spend his spare time with her and also works as a charter pilot. He brings cheerfulness and energy to every session.

Coach Tyrone

Coach Tyrone

In his 9th Season with Soccer Shots

A native of California, Tyrone earned a BS in Child Development from Fresno State (as a student-athlete). As an early educator, he has served for 12+ years in leadership, including a center director role. For 10 years, Tyrone directed a non-profit soccer program for typical and special needs children called E-soccer. Off the field, Tyrone enjoys fitness and coaching (Certified Personal Trainer), and spending time with his beautiful wife and two incredible boys.

Coach Fernando

In his 6th Season with Soccer Shots

A native of the San Jose, Coach Fernando is currently studying Psychology at San Jose State, and is pursuing ECE certification. He was a Lead Trainer at Waterworks Aquatics in San Jose in which he taught swim lessons to children. Fernando grew up playing soccer and water polo. He brings joy and enthusiasm to every session he leads.

Coach Manuel

In his 7th Season with Soccer Shots

A native of San Jose, Coach Manuel is a current student at De Anza College. For 8 years, he served as school age staff at a non-profit after care program as a bilingual liaison for parents and children. Manuel brings a passionate focus and gentle nature to the children he serves.

Coach Jose

In his 6th Season with Soccer Shots

A native of San Jose, Coach Jose is a graduate of Silver Creek HS. Jose began coaching soccer in 2011 as the boys and girls coach at Downtown College Preparatory-Alameda HS. Since, he was a Community Ally at Public Allies of Silicon Valley, a PE Coach at Alum Rock Middle School, Champion School, and a Summer Camp Program Director at Santa Maria Urban Ministry. He is currently pursuing ECE certification. Jose brings enthusiasm and experience to every session he leads.

Coach Ignacio

Coach Ignacio

In his 5th Season with Soccer Shots

A native of the Bay Area, Ignacio earned a BS in Recreation from CSU East Bay. Ignacio led recreation and physical education programming for the City of Mountain View, and the City of Redwood City. He is CPR/First Aid certified, a bilingual interpreter, and is currently pursuing ECE certification. Off the field, he enjoys playing soccer and spending time with family and infant son, Matias. Fun fact: He has run 10 marathons, and counting!

Coach Laura

Coach Laura

In her 5th Season with Soccer Shots

A native of San Jose, Laura earned a BA from University of Oregon (and played club water polo). Laura worked for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as Marketing Coordinator, and ran the ‘30 Under 30 Program’ that selected the best under-30 soccer coaches in the country. She earned a Masters Degree in Coaching from the University of Stirling, in Scotland, and is currently pursuing ECE certification. Laura also interned for the SJ Earthquakes and SF 49ers. In her free time, Laura loves to spend time with her German Shepherd named Dax. Fun fact: Laura was voted “Most Spirited” in high school.

Coach Drew

In his 4th Season with Soccer Shots

A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Drew earned a BA in Entrepreneurial Innovations from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is CPI Certified in Children Behavior Management. Drew comes to Soccer Shots with leadership, and training experience in community enrichment and youth development programs such as the Mattie Rhodes Center, a mental health facility that focuses on mental and physical wellness, community outreach, and youth recreation. He is currently pursuing ECE certification. Off the field, Drew enjoys spending time with his fiancé Ariel, watching Netflix, playing & watching soccer. Fun fact: Drew got to go to England last summer to train with Wrexham FC Wales.

Coach Mariza

In her 2nd season with Soccer Shots

Mariza joins the Soccer Shots team as a multiple-sport athlete and coach. Mariza has coached and played soccer, softball, basketball, and volleyball, specifically, in the Central Valley. She is currently studying Criminology at Fresno State. In her spare time, Mariza enjoys running, and working out. Fun fact: Mariza has a huge crush on Superman.

Coach Moises

In his 2nd season with Soccer Shots

A native of East Palo Alto, Moises began playing soccer when he was 5 years old. After playing soccer for Ravenswood Youth Soccer Club gold division until he was 14, he continued playing at Carlmont High School, helping his team make it to the CCS championship. Moises joins our team with 11 years of coaching experience at a variety of age levels. He currently coaches junior varsity and junior high school soccer at Kings Academy. He also coached U6 to U12 teams for Ravenswood Youth Soccer Club. He completed 12 credits of ECE from DeAnza College. In his free time he enjoys going to the beach, hiking, playing volleyball and soccer with friends. Fun Fact:  Coach Moises loves sea turtles.

Coach Adrian

Coach Adrian

In his 2nd season with Soccer Shots

A native of the San Jose, Adrian grew up playing soccer and loves working with children. Adrian is currently attending San Jose State University pursuing his degree in Child and Adolescent Development for Teaching. Coach Adrian brings nearly 10 years of experience of working with children to the Soccer Shots team, spending many of those years working as a CORAL after school instructor and S.T.E.M. Instructor for school age children. Adrian’s favorite part about working with children is seeing the excitement in their faces when they know it’s time to play soccer! When he is not playing soccer, Adrian loves to play and watch basketball and is an avid Golden State Warriors fan!

Coach Timmy

In his 2nd season with Soccer Shots

A native of the South Bay, Timmy has been playing soccer his entire life. After playing soccer for and attending the Menlo School, Timmy went on to play four years of Division III soccer at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA. Timmy recently graduated from Whitworth University with a degree in Mathematics and hopes to become a math teacher one day. In college Timmy spent much of his free time volunteering with the Boys and Girls Clubs and coaching youth soccer. Timmy’s favorite part about working with children is seeing them develop into good soccer players, but more importantly seeing them develop into great people! A fun fact about Coach Timmy is that in college he was able to travel to South Africa to play Soccer!

Coach Cameron

In his 1st season with Soccer Shots

A native of San Diego, CA, Coach Cameron joins the Soccer Shots team with a wealth of experience working with children in a number of different settings. Coach Cameron describes his favorite part about working with children as helping children progress and improve both their motor skills and character development week in and week out. Holding a Studio Art degree from San Francisco State University, Coach Cameron loves to be creative and spend his down time building things with his hands. But that also doesn’t stop his love for playing sports and video games.

Coach Savannah

In her 1st season with Soccer Shots

A native of Southern California, Coach Savannah joins the team with a BA in Early Childhood Studies from CSU Channel Islands and is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Multiple Subject Credentials from SJSU to become a teacher. Coach Savannah has a real passion for working with children and loves that they always say exactly what they are thinking, no matter what! Besides playing soccer one of Savannah’s favorite hobbies is visiting new trails and hiking. A fun fact about Coach Savannah is that her favorite princess of all times is Rapunzel!

Coach Max

In his 1st season with Soccer Shots

A native of San Mateo, CA Coach Max joins the team as a lifelong sports fan. Coach Max has great experience working with children in afterschool programs and loves their constant joy and desire to learn and play.  When Coach Max isn’t working with children he loves to stay active playing pick-up soccer and baseball games. A fun fact about Coach Max is that he is an avid writer.

Coach Juan

In his 1st season with Soccer Shots

A native of the South Bay, Coach Juan joins the team with a passion of helping people of all ages. Coach Juan says that his favorite part about working with children is seeing them gain confidence every week! In addition to his love of soccer, Coach Juan has also coached tennis. When he is not working with Soccer Shots, Juan enjoys spending time with his family and is a self described “Star Wars Geek”.

Coach Gabriel

In his 1st season with Soccer Shots

A native of Puerto Rico and Southern California, Coach Gabriel joins the Soccer Shots team while he currently works on finishing his Engineering degree from San Jose State University. Gabriel brings great experience as a youth soccer coach, and describes his favorite part of working with children as seeing all the different personalities and perspectives children bring to Soccer Shots sessions! When Coach Gabriel isn’t in class and working with young children he loves to spend his time playing sports and enjoying the great outdoors. A fun fact about Coach Gabriel is that before he moved to Southern California he was raised in Puerto Rico until he was 9yrs old.

Coach Sydney

In her 1st season with Soccer Shots

A native of Wichita, KS, Coach Sydney graduated from Missouri Western State University where she played soccer. Sydney is also currently a defender on the US Deaf Women’s National Team. During her free time Coach Sydney loves to read and get outside in nature and go hiking. Sydney’s favorite part about working with children is helping them not only develop into better soccer players, but better people in general! During her stay in the Bay Area, Coach Sydney is also working with the organization BAWSI  to positively impact even more children’s lives!

Coach Sarah

In her 1st season with Soccer Shots

A native of Spokane, WA, Coach Sarah joins the Bay Area Soccer Shots as an experienced coach after spending two years with the Austin Soccer Shots Team. Sarah is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology at San Jose State University. While her studies don’t leave her much in the way of free time, when she does have some she enjoys cooking and baking delicious treats! Coach Sarah’s favorite thing about working with kids is experiencing their energy and imagination day in and day out, and getting to watch them discover new things for the first time. A fun fact about Coach Sarah is that she walked across Spain!

Coach Veronica

In her 1st season with Soccer Shots

A Bay Area native, the Soccer Shots team is excited to introduce Coach Veronica. Eager to help develop children, Coach Veronica’s favorite thing about working with kids is seeing them learn and grow with each passing week. When not caching and working with children you can find Veronica hiking and exploring the wilderness. A fun fact about Coach Veronica is that she holds a personal record of 673 soccer juggles using only her feet!

Coach Kiril

Coach Kiril

In his 1st season with Soccer Shots

A Native of San Mateo, Coach Kiril joins the Soccer Shots team with a background in child development and has worked with children in a number of different capacities. Through is time studying and working with young children Kiril has really learned to enjoy the unique perspective children have on the world. When he is not playing soccer, Coach Kiril loves to spend his time playing  the piano. Another fun fact about Coach Kiril is that he was in a hip hop ensemble as a kid!

Coach Jay

In his 1st season with Soccer Shots

A native of the South Bay, Coach Jay joins the Soccer Shots team with a love of sports and working with children. Having spent time as a coach and swim instructor Coach Jay is excited to be on the pitch helping children find a joy in soccer! In fact Jay’s favorite part of working with kids is seeing them not only develop through the skills that he gets to teach them. When he’s not on the field he’s following and watching all his favorite sports teams. Fun fact about Coach Jay is that he is a twin!

Coach Trevor

Coach Trevor

In his 1st season with Soccer Shots

A native of San Mateo, Coach Trevor joins Soccer Shots team with a great attitude and passion for working with kids. Coach Trevor is currently a student studying Early Childhood Education and Design at the College of San Mateo. Trevor’s favorite part about working with young children is seeing their fears and concerns go away as they grow in confidence every week with their character and soccer skills! When coach Trevor isn’t on the soccer pitch he loves to spend his time making playing music with friends.
