Coach “Squid” Sydney grew up in a soccer-obsessed family in Louisville Kentucky, where both of her parents currently play on intramural teams, and both younger sisters are in club soccer. Coach Sydney played soccer from the time she was 6 until her junior year of high school. Her coaching nickname “Squid” came from her high school soccer team, and it has stuck ever since. She loves having the opportunity to introduce new “Soccer Friends” to the game and enjoys the character development and imagination that get incorporated into every session. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Public Relations with a focus in environmental studies, and through that grew her passion for nature and trying her best to live as environmentally friendly as she can. When she isn’t coaching, she is hanging out with her dog Piper, listening to (or going to see) music, cooking yummy vegan food, doing yoga, or hiking.
