Meet The Coaches

We are proud to have the best coaches in youth soccer.

Alex Nguyen

Alex Nguyen

Coach

Call me Coach Alex, from Lanham, Maryland. I like to power down watching my favorite show Dragon Ball Z and I power up with chicken and PBJ, not at the same time but they are both great. I am teaching soccer to your little ones but still got some learning to do studying Kinesiology and Human Development at University of Maryland College Park. The smiles on all the kids faces pushes me to inspire, motivate, encourage and be a supportive voice for them. My number one color is blue.

Jonathan Kim

Jonathan Kim

Coach

Hello! My name is Jonathan Kim. I am a Maryland native born in Baltimore. My hobbies are eating, cooking, and playing various sports, such as football, basketball, rock climbing, and of course, soccer. As a child, my dad has taken me along every week while he was playing soccer in his soccer league and from those experiences came my love for sports. I played sports through high school and college, and even now after college, I play sports in recreational leagues. Coaching soccer has allowed me to be a role model, just as my dad was to me, and I hope the kids will love soccer as much as I do.

Liam Harrington

Liam Harrington

Coach

Hello! My name is Liam Harrington and I just graduated from the University of Maryland. I was a double-major in Journalism and Psychology, and I’m pursuing video production as I work on improving my filmmaking and acting skills. I love playing soccer, basketball and pretty much any other sport in my free time. Fun fact: seafood is the best kind of food, and blue happens to be the best color, in case you didn’t know. You can usually find me in my hometown of Rockville, MD.

Rachel Fortes

Rachel Fortes

Coach

I go by Rachel or Coach Rachel. Inside the cones of Soccer Shot Island, I am exciting for the chance to share my love of soccer to teach the children to love it as well by making them laugh, have fun and show them it is okay to be themselves. Outside of Soccer Shot Island, I am excited for twizzlers/gummy worms, hanging with my dog Milo, singing at the top of my lungs, playing video games or binge watching Game of Thrones (Greatest show ever).

One day when I vacation away from the Island, I would love to take a cruise to the Caribbean anywhere. Before I discovered Soccer Shot Island, I was studying Criminal Justice at Towson University. Her favorite color is blue.

Daisy Bautista

Daisy Bautista

Coach

Hello! My name is Daisy and I am from Riverdale Maryland. I currently attend Shepherd University located in W.V and am pursuing a Recreation and Leisure studies career with a concentration in Sports marketing, along with a business minor. I have played soccer since I was 3 years old till my Sophomore year in College. I am currently an intern/coach with soccer shots and I believe getting this experience will help, teach and guide me in the right direction to build my academy for kids in the next couple of years. Long term I plan to become a marketing manager in the FIFA industry. I enjoy working with kids and hope to help them develop new soccer skills, knowledge and technique at the end of each and every session.
