Currently, I am in my second year of university at KPU in the science and horticulture field. Growing up, I began playing soccer at the age of 5 all the way up until the age of 18 and loved every minute of it. My favourite thing about coaching soccer shots is looking at joy on the kids faces once they have master a skill and watching them incorporate those skills throughout the season.
Growing up I played every sport I could get my hands onto, including hockey, basketball, baseball and soccer. I have continued to pursue soccer and downhill skiing recreationally as a way to stay fit and enjoy the outdoors! My love of teaching has inspired me to one day become a teacher. What I love the most about coaching for Soccer Shots it that I love getting to work outdoors with kids, and getting to be a part of their growing passion for sport. Seeing their improvement throughout the season, and the “aha” moments when they grasp a new skill make it all worth it!
Throughout my youth I played both soccer and softball competitively. I also played volleyball and basketball in elementary school and high school. Soccer is the only sport I continue to play because it is my favourite sport and something I am extremely passionate about. The best thing about coaching for Soccer Shots is definitely the children. I love getting to know all the children with their wonderful and unique personalities. There is no better feeling than when I see a child accomplish a skill they’ve been struggling with, or come out of their shell and start getting really involved in the scrimmage. Soccer had such a positive influence on me as a child, so I want their soccer experience to be something super fun and positive as well!
I am currently in the Bachelor of Physical Education and Coaching program at Douglas College as my goal is to one day become a teacher. Growing up I played every sport imaginable which mainly consisted of soccer, basketball, track, and softball. In high school, I dedicated all of my time into playing softball. I was fortunate enough to win a national championship, play at the collegiate level, and play for Team BC at the Canada Summer Games. What I love most about coaching for Soccer Shots is seeing how excited the kids get when they walk up to the field. I love seeing their big smiles when they score a goal, as well as seeing how much they improve throughout the season.
I have played soccer for 14 years as I started when I was 5 years old and I am currently still playing softball as an adult. One of my biggest passions is teaching and helping others, which has lead me to become an elementary school teacher as my career path. Soccer Shots has given me the ability to apply both of these passions. My favourite thing I I love about coaching is seeing the children’s face light up when we’re are playing games or when they have mastered a new skill!
Growing up I was heavily in involved in Soccer, Basketball and Track. I continued to play basketball into my early twenty’s at university and have recently switched back to playing soccer. I currently still play in a women’s league in Abbotsford. Since I have always been involved in sports, I love seeing kids and parents getting involved indoors and outdoors. I love coaching for Soccer Shots because each kid is unique and brings a different skill to the game, whether it be enthusiasm, energy or fundamental skills. No class is ever the same and you learn something new each time you coach, about yourself and the kids you are coaching.
I grew up playing soccer for over 15 years on youth teams and loved every minute of it. Growing up I loved being around kids and it inspired me to pursue a career in a field where I can help kids. My future career goal is to work as a pediatric nurse in a hospital as I want to be able to help young children. Coaching at Soccer Shots has allowed me to combine two of my passions of working with kids and playing soccer.
I am currently studying Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley. Growing up I played many sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and many more. However out of all of them, I stuck with soccer and even played at a university level. One thing I love about Soccer Shots is seeing how happy the children get when they master the skill of the day and knowing that I got to teach them the sport that I love the most!
I grew up playing basketball and soccer and play soccer for the University of Fraser Valley. I enjoyed playing multiple sports throughout school and even though I was not to great at basketball, it taught me that you should never give up and keep practicing. Which is something I preach to all kids at a young age. Coaching for Soccer Shots allows me to have fun while working. My favourite thing about coaching is making the children laugh and smile.
Growing up I played multiple sports, I played ice hockey, ball hockey and soccer and currently playing ball hockey and soccer.I am currently studying kinesiology at the UFV . I am the youngest of three in my family. I love working for Soccer Shots as it allows me to work with kids and build not only their soccer skills, but life skills along the way.
Growing up I tried many different sports, until I stumbled upon Soccer, and have loved it ever since. Soccer gives me this indescribable joy. One of my passions is to help people and I hope to pursue a degree in social work in order to help others and give back to my community. The one thing I love about coaching for Soccer Shots are the kids and their energy. It’s so much fun interacting with them and seeing them being filled with energy and enjoying themselves. It’s like being in a bubble of wonder and fun.
Growing up I played all sorts of sports! Soccer was my first but I also played basketball, volleyball, rugby, and track and field! I just recently got back into playing soccer after ten years! My favourite thing about coaching for Soccer Shots is seeing all of the improvements the kids make! Especially seeing them from starting at 2’s all the way to 5-8’s! The progress is really cool to see! I also like to hear the kids try and say my real name, Sukrita. We shortened it to Rita to make it easier for the kids!
I started playing soccer when I was five years old, and continue to play year-round on a few different teams. When I’m not playing or coaching soccer, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. You can often find me working on our family dairy farm or in the kitchen trying out new recipes. Being a coach for Soccer Shots felt like a great fit from the get-go. I love soccer and I love kids, so combining the two went hand in hand. Working with kids keeps you on your toes, and it’s those unscripted moments that make for great memories! Each kid is unique and watching them learn & grow in their own ways is rewarding.
I was introduced to soccer when I was five and never looked back! Although I’ve stopped playing competitively, I still go out with friends once in a while to enjoy the beautiful game. Nonetheless, I love working with kids because of their exuberant and silly nature as I remember how it all started for me by scoring goals into my own net. Apart from that side of things, I’m currently finishing my second year in Microbiology and Immunology at UBC!
Growing up in a family of basketball players, I was heavily involved in the sport throughout my elementary and high school years. However, I gained both playing and coaching experiences in the game of soccer by actively engaging in many years of Physical Education classes as well as volunteering to coach youth sports camps during the spring and summer breaks. Currently I am a third year student at KPU where I am studying to gain a Bachelor’s of Arts degree with a Major in English in order to become an English teacher. With a passion for working with children and contributing to their growth and development as individuals, Soccer Shots has given me the opportunity to combine forces in a fun environment where not only am I helping children to learn new skills, challenge themselves, and flourish but they, in return, are assisting in my own growth and bettering my experiences as well!
Growing up my parents tried to expose me to all sorts of different sports. I was playing ice hockey, soccer, field hockey and I swam competitively. Playing soccer was by far my favourite, I had the most fun and I made long lasting friendships while playing. I am now in my 8th year playing soccer and loving it! I am also currently attending Douglas College for my first year in the Sports Science program. My favourite thing about working at Soccer Shots is that I get to work with children who enjoy playing the sport as much as I do, while also teaching them important life skills, like showing respect and determination.
I have been playing soccer for a little over 8 years as a goalie. I believe that working with children always brings the best in people. Children are so funny and have the most creative minds! Working with Soccer Shots has allowed me to become a role model to some of these children, just like my coaches were to me. Ever since I started coaching with Soccer Shots Fraser Valley, I have found a new happiness in my life. I hope that I can inspire these kids to have a passion for soccer as I do and to continue their soccer journey when they grow out of Soccer Shots.
I am a Criminology student at UFV. My whole family plays soccer so inevitably I did too, but I also played a whole lot of other sports. I believe that in order to excel at one sport, eventually you have to pick one and devote all your time to it. For me it came down to volleyball and soccer and I ended up choosing volleyball in the ninth grade and I never looked back. While volleyball has my heart and soul, socer has always had a special part in my life. What inspires me most about working with children is that I get to be a part of their personal character developments and their learning processes. I love working with Soccer Shots because it’s not just about the soccer. Soccer Shots pushes to help guide children to become the best versions of themselves. And I think that’s pretty cool!
I am currently in my second year of university at University of the Fraser Valley working hard to get my Bachelors Degree in Psychology. In the future with my degree in psychology and going towards medical school, I hope to become a psychiatrist specialized in children and adolescents. I love being around kids! Children have such a beautiful and creative mind that you could always relate to and learn from. Growing up I played many sports and one of them happens to be soccer. Soccer has been always one of my favourite sports not only to play but to watch as well. Soccer shots gives me the opportunity to be able to do three of my favourite things, play soccer, teach, and be around children! I love the environment Soccer Shots has created because it gives me the opportunity to learn and grow not only as a coach and educator, but also as an individual.
I never competively played soccer, but have been a big fan since I was a kid and played recreationally all of my life. My athletic background consists of basketball which I played competitvely from the ages of 9-17. I also coached for several years, starting at age 13. I enjoy working with kids because they always are full of energy and have an infectious positive attitude that makes everything fun! I studied developmental Psychology in Post Secondary school and am passionate about helping children reach their potential and facilitating positive learning environments for them. Soccer shots does such a great job of implementing life skills and teaching children things they will carry with them across all aspects of life and have fun doing so!
I have played soccer for the better end of 18 years, and to this day I still love it. I played in school, competitively outside of school, and now having the opportunity to coach is just the cherry on top. It is my firm belief that soccer taught me the skills I needed to communicate, integrate socially, and believe in myself and my worth–soccer shots has really incorporated all of these aspects into its curriculum. I love working with kids, they’re just so curious and eager to learn! I think back to when I was little, in similar soccer sessions, and remember how inspired I was by my coaches. I love that I now get the chance to be a similar positive role model in your little ones life.
All throughout my youth, I was fortunate enough to grow up and be surrounded by a multitude of sports. Whether it was a hockey stick, a volleyball, skis, a basketball, or a soccer ball; I always had something to keep me active and motivated. Soccer was (and still is) my favorite and most successful sport. I have been playing competitively since I was 13, and have never showed any signs of regret since! I am now going into my second year at UBC studying Kinesiology with the hopes of branching into the health science discipline, and with the eventual end goal of becoming a physiotherapist or personal trainer. At this stage of my life, I realize that while soccer may never be my profession, it will forever be my passion; and transferring that passion onto young kids while at the same time teaching them the values that soccer brings excites me! I also am heavily motivated with the responsibility to play such a crucial role as a caring adult who teaches kids valuable life skills through soccer, and who positively influences a child’s physical and mental development. Working with Soccer Shots presents me with an opportunity to work within a recreational environment and an opportunity to help kids become the best versions of themselves: the best of both worlds! On top of that, Soccer Shots presents me with the freedom to be around the beautiful game, and when you are aroud something that you love, you never have to work a day in your life.
I am currently a 3rd year Nursing Student at Trinity Western University where I am training to become a Registered Nurse. I grew up playing sports such as volleyball, basketball, track and field and soccer. Soccer was my main sport and I played for about 10 years with 4 years being at the BC Premier league level. After that I chose to focus on track and field. I am currently a member of the Trinity Western Track and Field team competing in heptathlon/decathlon. My favourite part about working with children is watching them accomplish something they have struggled with. I think these moments are just as exciting for a coach as they are for the kids. In the past, I have coached high school athletes, but working with Soccer Shots has given me the chance to be with kids who are just discovering how fun soccer really is.
When I was four years old, my mom decided to put me in soccer so that I would have more than just imaginary friends, and while I made loads of friends, I also fell in love with the sport and have been playing ever since! Coaching is a way that I get share what I’m passionate about and see kids step forward in confidence as they also make friends and learn skills. I love working with Soccer Shots because it offers holistic growth – focusing on character and skill development because the best players are the team players!
I have been playing competitive soccer since the age of 5 and although I have stopped playing this year, soccer will always be a passion of mine. I strongly believe that soccer has helped me develop into the person that I am today; soccer provided me with the opportunity to gain confidence in myself. I am currently in my first year of university at BCIT in hopes of becoming a paediatrician one day. Ever since I was young I have always loved working with and helping children, which has lead me to my future career decision. I love the eagerness and enthusiasm that children present no matter what activity they participate in. I was lucky enough to have the same soccer coach throughout my 14 years of soccer and he played a big part in my development as an individual. I am grateful that Soccer Shots has given me the opportunity to help create a difference in the lives of the children I coach.
I have been playing soccer for an amazing 12 years and coaching kids for 4 years. Soccer has tremendously impacted my life all due to my coaches who have inspired me. They taught me how to be responsible both on and off the field, along side with learning how to love and care for my teammates. That is why I love working with Soccer Shots Fraser Valley. It gave me the chance to do a full circle with my soccer life and let me be the inspiration to the kids and show them how this sport is more than just kicking a ball. Every aspect he/she learns from this program, I hope they will remember it and carry it on with them in life.
I have played soccer for about 11 years now. My other sports interests include football and ball hockey. I think the thing that inspires me most about working with children is the progression of each child not only in their soccer skill but in their personality. A lot of children start off very shy at the beginning of the season but by the end of the season they have made new friends in the class and are running around with excitement! I enjoy working for Soccer Shots Fraser Valley because it doesn’t feel like a job. One of my greatest passions is working with children and Soccer Shots allows me to do that!
I have played soccer for 12 amazing years and during that time I developed a love for coaching. Working with children is so inspiring and so much fun! It’s so interesting to see how different all their little personalities are, they never fail to make me laugh. They are all so cool in their own way. I love working with Soccer Shots Fraser Valley because it combines the joy of working with children and my passion for soccer. It really could not be a better fit!
Growing up I played a variety of sports including basketball, hockey and I played soccer from the age of 7. I am currently working on a business administration degree from the University of the Fraser Valley. My first experience with working with children was teaching underprivileged children how to skate through a charity program and I loved it! This inspired me to work with children and it’s why I love working for soccer shots. I enjoy coaching because you get to see the children develop not just as soccer players but also learn life skills along the way and develop into the best version of themselves.
