Throughout my youth I played both soccer and softball competitively. I also played volleyball and basketball in elementary school and high school. Soccer is the only sport I continue to play because it is my favourite sport and something I am extremely passionate about. The best thing about coaching for Soccer Shots is definitely the children. I love getting to know all the children with their wonderful and unique personalities. There is no better feeling than when I see a child accomplish a skill they’ve been struggling with, or come out of their shell and start getting really involved in the scrimmage. Soccer had such a positive influence on me as a child, so I want their soccer experience to be something super fun and positive as well!
I am currently in the Bachelor of Physical Education and Coaching program at Douglas College, as my goal is to one day become a teacher. Growing up I played every sport imaginable which mainly consisted of soccer, basketball, track and softball. In high school, I dedicated all of my time into playing softball. I was fortunate enough to win a national championship, play at the collegiate level and play for Team BC at the Canada Summer Games. What I love most about coaching for Soccer Shots is seeing how excited the kids get when they walk up to the field. I love seeing their big smiles when they score a goal, as well as seeing how much they improve throughout the season.
I have played soccer for 14 years as I started when I was 5 years old and I am currently still playing softball. One of my biggest passions is teaching and helping others, which has lead me to work towards becoming an elementary school teacher (I’m currently enrolled in the PDP program at SFU). Soccer Shots has given me the ability to apply both of these passions. My favourite thing about coaching is seeing the children’s faces light up when we’re are playing games or when they have mastered a new skill!
Born in the United States, I grew up playing soccer and joined a women’s soccer team recently. I recently graduated and hope to one day work in a church. I love coaching for Soccer Shots because I really believe in the curriculum, as it is made by early childhood educators. I love teaching the kids and watching them learn and progress. It’s also tons of fun!
Growing up I was heavily in involved in soccer, basketball and track. I continued to play basketball into my early twenties at university and have recently switched back to playing soccer – I currently still play in a women’s league in Abbotsford. Since I have always been involved in sports, I love seeing kids and parents getting involved indoors and outdoors. I love coaching for Soccer Shots because each kid is unique and brings a different skill to the game, whether it be enthusiasm, energy or fundamental skills. No class is ever the same and you learn something new each time you coach not only about the kids you are coaching but also about yourself.
I grew up playing soccer for over 15 years and loved every minute of it. Growing up I loved being around kids and it inspired me to pursue a career in a field where I can help kids. My future career goal is to work as a pediatric nurse in a hospital, as I want to be able to help young children. Coaching at Soccer Shots has allowed me to combine two of my passions of working with kids and playing soccer.
I am currently studying Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley. Growing up I played many sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and many more. However, out of all of them, I stuck with soccer and even played at a university level. One thing I love about Soccer Shots is seeing how happy the children get when they master the skill of the day and knowing I got to teach them the sport that I love the most!
I grew up playing basketball and soccer and played soccer for the University of Fraser Valley. I enjoyed playing multiple sports throughout school. Even though I was not too great at basketball, it taught me that you should never give up and keep practicing – something I preach to all kids at a young age. Coaching for Soccer Shots allows me to have fun while working. My favourite thing about coaching is making the children laugh and smile.
Growing up I played multiple sports like ice hockey, ball hockey and soccer. I currently still play ball hockey and soccer and am studying kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley. I am the youngest of three in my family. I love working for Soccer Shots as it allows me to work with kids and build not only their soccer skills but also life skills along the way.
Growing up I tried many different sports, until I stumbled upon soccer and have loved it ever since. Soccer gives me this indescribable joy. One of my passions is to help people and I hope to pursue a degree in social work in order to help others and give back to my community. The one thing I love about coaching for Soccer Shots are the kids and their energy. It’s so much fun interacting with them and seeing them being filled with energy and enjoying themselves. It’s like being in a bubble of wonder and fun.
Growing up I played all sorts of sports! Soccer was my first but I also played basketball, volleyball, rugby and track and field. I just recently got back into playing soccer after ten years! My favourite thing about coaching for Soccer Shots is seeing all of the improvements the kids make! Especially seeing them from starting at 2’s all the way to 5-8’s – the progress is really cool to see! I also like to hear the kids try and say my real name, Sukrita. We shortened it to Rita to make it easier for the kids!
I started playing soccer when I was five years old and continue to play year-round on a few different teams. When I’m not playing or coaching soccer, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. You can often find me working on our family dairy farm or in the kitchen trying out new recipes. Being a coach for Soccer Shots felt like a great fit from the get-go. I love soccer and I love kids, so combining the two went hand in hand. Working with kids keeps you on your toes and it’s those unscripted moments that make for great memories! Each kid is unique and watching them learn & grow in their own ways is rewarding.
Growing up my parents tried to expose me to all sorts of different sports. I was playing ice hockey, soccer, field hockey and I swam competitively. Playing soccer was by far my favourite, I had the most fun and I made long lasting friendships while playing. I am now in my 8th year playing soccer and loving it! I am currently attending Douglas College for my second year in the Sports Science program. My favourite thing about working at Soccer Shots is that I get to work with children who enjoy playing the sport as much as I do, while also teaching them important life skills, like showing respect and determination.
I am a Criminology student at UFV. My whole family plays soccer so inevitably, I did too but I also played a whole lot of other sports. I believe that in order to excel at one sport, eventually you have to pick one and devote all your time to it. For me it came down to volleyball and soccer and I ended up choosing volleyball in the ninth grade and I never looked back. While volleyball has my heart and soul, soccer has always had a special part in my life. What inspires me most about working with children is that I get to be a part of their individual character development and their learning processes. I love working with Soccer Shots because it’s not just about the soccer. Soccer Shots pushes to help guide children to become the best versions of themselves. And I think that’s pretty cool!
When I was four years old, my mom decided to put me in soccer so that I would have more than just imaginary friends and while I made loads of friends, I also fell in love with the sport and have been playing ever since! Coaching is a way for me to share what I’m passionate about and see kids step forward in confidence as they also make friends and learn skills. I love working with Soccer Shots because it offers holistic growth – focusing on character and skill development because the best players are the team players!
I played competitive soccer since the age of 5 and although I stopped playing this year, soccer will always be a passion of mine. I strongly believe that soccer has helped me develop into the person that I am today; soccer provided me with the opportunity to gain confidence in myself. I am currently in my second year of university at BCIT in hopes of becoming a paediatrician one day. Ever since I was young I have always loved working with and helping children, which has lead me to my future career decision. I love the eagerness and enthusiasm that children present no matter what activity they participate in. I was lucky enough to have the same soccer coach throughout my 14 years of soccer and he played a big part in my development as an individual. I am grateful that Soccer Shots has given me the opportunity to help create a difference in the lives of the children I coach.
I have played soccer for about 11 years now. My other sports interests include football and ball hockey. I think the thing that inspires me most about working with children is the progression of each child not only in their soccer skills but in their personality. A lot of children start off very shy at the beginning of the season but by the end of the season they have made new friends in the class and are running around with excitement! I enjoy working for Soccer Shots Fraser Valley because it doesn’t feel like a job. One of my greatest passions is working with children and Soccer Shots allows me to do that!
I have played soccer for 12 amazing years and during that time I developed a love for coaching. Working with children is so inspiring and so much fun! It’s very interesting to see how different all their little personalities are, they never fail to make me laugh. They are all really cool in their own way. I love working with Soccer Shots Fraser Valley because it combines the joy of working with children and my passion for soccer. It really could not be a better fit!
I have been playing soccer for over 12 years now and I see it as a part of who I am, it’s not just a sport, it is a passion to me. Currently I’m playing for the Surrey United Men’s team and it’s a great experience playing with guys older than me. I am studying Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley and my career goal is to become a chiropractor, as well as coaching a club team in the future. What I love most about coaching for Soccer Shots is seeing how much the kids smile and laugh while learning at the same time. Working with kids and seeing them progress is the most rewarding job ever. I think about the progress they’ve made, how I can help them further and I hope that when they leave, they feel better, stronger, empowered and happier.
I grew up playing soccer since I was 5 but recently took time off to work full time. Playing soccer has always been so relaxing and enjoying for me, especially when I get stressed out from school. One thing I love about coaching for Soccer Shots is seeing how silly the kids can be and making them laugh. I like teaching them the sport I love the most and hope to inspire them throughout their journey at Soccer Shots!
My two main passions in life are cars and athletics. I am currently attending UFV for Automotive and have played soccer on and off for 8 years total. Alongside soccer, I also love basketball and football. My inspiration for working with kids stems from my childhood and seeing the same youthfulness I had as a kid in them. I love working with Soccer Shots because you get to see the children improve in something, whether it’s a soccer skill or life skill and the privilege of being able to be a role model to kids warms my heart!
