I am currently in my second year of university, at the University of Fraser Valley. I’m working my way into getting a degree in education as I have a serious passion to help little ones learn and grow. Growing up I experimented with a lot of sports, but soccer was always around me. I started playing a little later the most, but I found my mark and was voted team Captain. Honestly, my favourite part about being apart of the Soccer Shots team is teaching the kids and having them help me learn new ways to grow as an educator.
Aliesha has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old and still continues to play at a high level in a women’s division. Growing up playing multiple sports she has grown to love the dedication, healthy lifestyle and commitment that comes along with it. Another passion of hers is kids. Ever since she was young she has loved to teach or help kids. Coaching at Soccer Shots Fraser Valley implements all of her passions into her dream job. She is thrilled to be able to have the best of both passions of working with kids while playing soccer. One of her favourite parts about working for Soccer Shots is seeing the children’s confidence grow not only as a player, but as an individual.
Growing up I played every sport I could get my hands onto, including hockey, basketball, baseball and soccer. I have continued to pursue soccer and downhill skiing recreationally as a way to stay fit and enjoy the outdoors! My love of teaching has inspired me to one day become a teacher. What I love the most about coaching for Soccer Shots it that I love getting to work outdoors with kids, and getting to be a part of their growing passion for sport. Seeing their improvement throughout the season, and the “aha” moments when they grasp a new skill make it all worth it!
Throughout my youth I played both soccer and softball competitively. I also played volleyball and basketball in elementary school and high school. Soccer is the only sport I continue to play because it is my favourite sport and something I am extremely passionate about. The best thing about coaching for Soccer Shots is definitely the children. I love getting to know all the children with their wonderful and unique personalities. There is no better feeling than when I see a child accomplish a skill they’ve been struggling with, or come out of their shell and start getting really involved in the scrimmage. Soccer had such a positive influence on me as a child, so I want their soccer experience to be something super fun and positive as well!
I am currently in the Bachelor of Physical Education and Coaching program at Douglas College as my goal is to one day become a teacher. Growing up I played every sport imaginable which mainly consisted of soccer, basketball, track, and softball. In high school, I dedicated all of my time into playing softball. I was fortunate enough to win a national championship, play at the collegiate level, and play for Team BC at the Canada Summer Games. What I love most about coaching for Soccer Shots is seeing how excited the kids get when they walk up to the field. I love seeing their big smiles when they score a goal, as well as seeing how much they improve throughout the season.
I have played soccer for 14 years as I started when I was 5 years old and I am currently still playing softball as an adult. One of my biggest passions is teaching and helping others, which has lead me to become an elementary school teacher as my career path. Soccer Shots has given me the ability to apply both of these passions. My favourite thing I I love about coaching is seeing the children’s face light up when we’re are playing games or when they have mastered a new skill!
Growing up I was heavily in involved in Soccer, Basketball and Track. I continued to play basketball into my early twenty’s at university and have recently switched back to playing soccer. I currently still play in a women’s league in Abbotsford. Since I have always been involved in sports, I love seeing kids and parents getting involved indoors and outdoors. I love coaching for Soccer Shots because each kid is unique and brings a different skill to the game, whether it be enthusiasm, energy or fundamental skills. No class is ever the same and you learn something new each time you coach, about yourself and the kids you are coaching.
I grew up playing soccer for over 15 years on youth teams and loved every minute of it. Growing up I loved being around kids and it inspired me to pursue a career in a field where I can help kids. My future career goal is to work as a pediatric nurse in a hospital as I want to be able to help young children. Coaching at Soccer Shots has allowed me to combine two of my passions of working with kids and playing soccer.
I will be certified as an Educational Assistant this coming June by CBC. I played just about any sport available to me as a child. Soccer, volleyball, and tennis being some of my favourites. In my opinion, the best part about being a soccer coach is getting to know a variety of children and to hear the entertaining things they come up with during the games we play.
I just finished my first year of Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley. Growing up I played many sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and many more. However out of all of them, I stuck with soccer. I currently play for the UFV women’s soccer team. One thing I love about Soccer Shots is seeing how happy the children get when they master the skill of the day and knowing that I got to teach them the sport that I love the most!
I grew up playing basketball and soccer and play soccer for the University of Fraser Valley. I enjoyed playing multiple sports throughout school and even though I was not to great at basketball, it taught me that you should never give up and keep practicing. Which is something I preach to all kids at a young age. Coaching for Soccer Shots allows me to have fun while working. My favourite thing about coaching is making the children laugh and smile.
Growing up I played multiple sports, I played ice hockey, ball hockey and soccer and currently playing ball hockey and soccer.I am currently in my second year at Douglas College in the Sports Science program. I am the youngest of three in my family. I love working for Soccer Shots as it allows me to work with kids and build not only their soccer skills, but life skills along the way.
Growing up I tried many different sports, until I stumbled upon Soccer, and have loved it ever since. Soccer gives me this indescribable joy. One of my passions is to help people and I hope to pursue a degree in social work in order to help others and give back to my community. The one thing I love about coaching for Soccer Shots are the kids and their energy. It’s so much fun interacting with them and seeing them being filled with energy and enjoying themselves. It’s like being in a bubble of wonder and fun.
Growing up I played all sorts of sports! Soccer was my first but I also played basketball, volleyball, rugby, and track and field! I just recently got back into playing soccer after ten years! My favourite thing about coaching for Soccer Shots is seeing all of the improvements the kids make! Especially seeing them from starting at 2’s all the way to 5-8’s! The progress is really cool to see! I also like to hear the kids try and say my real name, Sukrita. We shortened it to Rita to make it easier for the kids!
I started playing soccer when I was five years old, and continue to play year-round on a few different teams. When I’m not playing or coaching soccer, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. You can often find me working on our family dairy farm or in the kitchen trying out new recipes. Being a coach for Soccer Shots felt like a great fit from the get-go. I love soccer and I love kids, so combining the two went hand in hand. Working with kids keeps you on your toes, and it’s those unscripted moments that make for great memories! Each kid is unique and watching them learn & grow in their own ways is rewarding.
I was introduced to soccer when I was five and never looked back! Although I’ve stopped playing competitively, I still go out with friends once in a while to enjoy the beautiful game. Nonetheless, I love working with kids because of their exuberant and silly nature as I remember how it all started for me by scoring goals into my own net. Apart from that side of things, I’m currently finishing my second year in Microbiology and Immunology at UBC!
