Coach Amy started playing soccer when she was 8 yrs old, and continued playing all through high school and then intramurals in college. She still enjoys playing in Charlotte area ladies’ and co-ed leagues.
Not only is Amy a fantastic coach, she is also very driven and believes in the Soccer Shots message. And because of that, she has added the role of Cabarrus County Sales Manager to her role as Coach!
“I live in Charlotte with my husband and 2 sons, and I have coached both of them in their early years playing recreational soccer. I have also been a substitute teacher in their preschool, and I have held just about every possible PTA position, from President to Book Fair Chair, Finance Chair, Fall Festival Chair, etc.
My job with Soccer Shots is a fantastic mix of two of my favorite things – working with children and playing soccer!”
Coach Amy B hails from sunny central NY, has been playing soccer since she was in 7th grade and continues to play today in adult leagues. She loves to work with children and has two kids that love soccer as well. When she isn’t coaching Soccer Shots, she is substitute teaching at school, teaching Sunday school or coaching her older kids in their soccer leagues.
Matt has played soccer all his life and joined the Soccer Shots coaching team in the summer of 2015. He believes that soccer is an amazing sport and decided he wanted to coach children so they can have the same amazing experience playing the game that he had growing up! Matt is planning to be a Social Studies teacher after graduation at UNCC!
Coach Chase loves working with children! His soccer experience dates all the way back to when he was 5 years old and he has been playing or involved in coaching soccer ever since then. He began coaching with Soccer Shots over 2 years ago and loves it! Currently, he is also the men’s and women’s soccer coach at A L Brown High School in Kannapolis and is also the preschool nursery director at his church in Mint Hill.
Full Time Coach
Justin moved down to the Charlotte area from Albany, NY in January 2016 to set down roots and really likes it here! He began coaching with us in late 2016 and has recently taken a full time position with us. In addition to coaching, Justin also works in our office assisting in everything from inventory management to scheduling coaches. We’re happy to have him!
‘I’ve played soccer since I was five years old and now I play in adult leagues. I’ve run summer soccer camps while I was in high school and I substitute teach when I’m not out on the soccer field. I look forward to meeting you all this season!’
Yolanda is a native of Hawaii, although has lived in North Carolina for a few years now. She’s played competitive soccer for 20 years and is a mother to 3 fantastic soccer loving daughters. She holds a child development degree and is passionate about engaging children to succeed in a fun and nurturing environment. We’re happy to call her a Soccer Shots coach!
|Coach Alexis began playing soccer at the age of 6 in Long Island, NY, and played collegiately at South Carolina State University. There she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Family and Consumer Science with a focus in Early Childhood Education. Following graduation, she received her NC Early Childhood Education credentials and taught Early Preschool/Preschool aged children.|
She is currently working on her Masters of Social Work at Johnson C. Smith University and hopes to work as a Pediatric Social Worker. She lives in Charlotte and loves working for Soccer Shots!
Coach Shayla is originally from Camden County, Georgia, where she began playing soccer. She played soccer for 8 years and says “it was the best time of my life. I moved with my family to the Charlotte area in 2015 and I really love it here. I have a strong passion for the beautiful game and I can’t wait to share it with the children of Soccer Shots!”
Coach Kristen began playing soccer at a young age and played through high school. She earned her Bachelor of Science for Early Childhood Education from James Madison University and after graduation, she taught for 6 years in Charlotte before deciding to pursue her passion to be an occupational therapist.
“I’m currently a graduate student at Lenoir-Rhyne University and I’m excited to coach with children at Soccer Shots while completing my Master’s degree!”
