Coach & Cabarrus County Director
Coach Amy started playing soccer when she was 8 yrs old, and continued playing all through high school and then intramurals in college. She still enjoys playing in Charlotte area ladies’ and co-ed leagues.
Not only is Amy a fantastic coach, she is also very driven and believes in the Soccer Shots message. And because of that, she has added the role of Cabarrus County Sales Manager to her role as Coach!
“I live in Charlotte with my husband and 2 sons, and I have coached both of them in their early years playing recreational soccer. I have also been a substitute teacher in their preschool, and I have held just about every possible PTA position, from President to Book Fair Chair, Finance Chair, Fall Festival Chair, etc.
My job with Soccer Shots is a fantastic mix of two of my favorite things – working with children and playing soccer!”
Matt has played soccer all his life and joined the Soccer Shots coaching team in the summer of 2015. He believes that soccer is an amazing sport and decided he wanted to coach children so they can have the same amazing experience playing the game that he had growing up! Matt is planning to be a Social Studies teacher after graduation at UNCC!
Coach Chase loves working with children! His soccer experience dates all the way back to when he was 5 years old and he has been playing or involved in coaching soccer ever since then. He began coaching with Soccer Shots over 2.5 years ago and loves it! Currently, he is also the men’s and women’s soccer coach at JM Robinson High School and is also the preschool nursery director at his church in Mint Hill.
Justin moved down to the Charlotte area from Albany, NY in January 2016 to set down roots and really likes it here! He began coaching with us in late 2016 and has proven himself as a great coach! We receive regular emails from parents talking about how well he coaches. We’re happy to have him!
‘I’ve played soccer since I was five years old and now I play in adult leagues. I’ve run summer soccer camps while I was in high school and I substitute teach when I’m not out on the soccer field. I look forward to meeting you all this season!’
“I’m Gwendolyn (Coach Gwen to the kiddos) and I am a Belmont Abbey graduate. (GO Crusaders!) I absolutely love my “job” as a Soccer Shots coach. In the short time I’ve been with Soccer Shots, I’ve already been so blessed to watch these kids not only fall in love with soccer, but build character traits such as respect, commitment, sharing, and maintaining a positive attitude! Seriously, kids are amazing and I often find myself learning more from them than I expect. Aside from Soccer Shots, I LOVE spending time with my husband and our 9-month old baby boy. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, fishing, running, playing pick-up tag football and basketball, being at church, reading, writing, and playing soccer of course! I truly look forward to being your child’s coach and I hope to meet you somewhere along the way!”
Yolanda is a native of Hawaii, although has lived in North Carolina for a few years now. She’s played competitive soccer for 20 years and is a mother to 3 fantastic soccer loving daughters. She holds a child development degree and is passionate about engaging children to succeed in a fun and nurturing environment. We’re happy to call her a Soccer Shots coach!
Maleri began playing soccer her freshman year in high school, where she fell in love with the game. She currently attends Cabarrus College of Health Sciences as a nursing student. She’s very passionate about caring for others – especially children.
She says “I can’t wait to help the kids understand the beautiful game of soccer. I hope to teach them lessons that they will take with them outside of the soccer field as well, just like my coaches have done for me over the years. Most importantly I want them to have fun while doing it!”
Theresa (better known as “Coach Tee”) started playing soccer when she was four years old, and has loved it ever since! She played for her club and high school in California, and then moved to North Carolina to play for Belmont Abbey College. When she is not playing soccer, she is cooking hamburgers in her backyard or chasing her daughter around. She loves working with children, and hopes to pass on her love of soccer to each child she meets!
Hannah Grace A.
Hannah Grace (known as “Coach Grace”), grew up in Charlotte playing soccer on several club and school teams. She graduated with a Bible/Communication degree from Columbia International University. Post graduation, she has worked with kids in several different teaching and coaching capacities. Coach Grace is excited to be a part of the Soccer Shots family teaching kids to love the game while having the most fun!
Coach Ed started playing soccer when he was 5 years old and continued playing all through his life. Soccer is in his blood as evidenced by the fact that not only is he a Soccer Shots coach, he is also the Bradford Prep Varsity boy’s and girl’s coach, he works with a non-profit youth soccer organization in the Mallard Creek area and is a referee for Charlotte area adult leagues. In fact, most evenings he can be found with a whistle and yellow shirt!
“I live in Charlotte with my two children, Connor and Paige. I look forward to being a part of your soccer player’s life.”

She has coached before and absolutely loves helping children learn and have fun! She is starting school at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design for Graphic Design in the fall. When it’s offseason, Megan loves to travel to music festivals throughout the world! Megan is a firm believer in chasing your dreams!
“I love to be silly and give out a lot of high-fives. My hope is to make an impact on your child’s life and push them to use their creativity and imagination to the fullest while playing soccer!”
If you have a passion for positively impacting children, we’d love to talk to you.
