Soccer Shots Greater St. Louis is owned and operated by Coach Jamie and his wife, Nicole. Working together, they strive to deliver exceptional programs that children, families and school staff value and enjoy. As parents of three, they understand and appreciate the needs, challenges and perspectives of families with young children.
Coach Jamie is responsible for strategic partnerships, business development, coaching, and support to the day-to-day operations of Soccer Shots. Soccer has been his passion since he started playing the game at the age of 5. He played competitive soccer through high school, and went on to play four years at the collegiate level at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. After graduating with a bachelor’s in biology, Coach Jamie continued to stay connected to the sport through coaching. He started coaching youth soccer in 2006, and currently holds the USSF-D coaching license. Coach Jamie and Nicole opened Soccer Shots in April 2010, and then expanded in 2013 to include North St. Louis County, as well as the Columbia/Jefferson City area in Mid Missouri. Then, in February 2018, they acquired the St. Louis County franchise and Soccer Shots Greater St. Louis was formed.
Director of Operations
Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, Coach Oscar graduated from Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri, with a Masters degree in Sports Management. Coach Oscar brings extensive experience and knowledge of the game to Soccer Shots, as he has played high level soccer since the age of 8. Not only is he currently a coach with the Olympic Development Program (ODP) and a Grad Coach at Missouri Baptist University, he has previously coached teams with J.B. Marine Soccer Club, Real STL Soccer Club, and Lou Fusz Soccer Club.
Coach Oscar joined Soccer Shots in 2015, and has been instrumental in impacting the lives of Soccer Shots players and growing Soccer Shots throughout the area since that time. Coach Oscar is the primary point of contact for all child care centers, preschools, and school-based programs.
Director of Coaching
Coach Ross is originally from England and played in two professional youth academies as a child; Leeds United and York City. Ross came to the United States at 19 and studied at Lindenwood University, earning a B.A. in Finance and a M.B.A. in Management and Finance. He has several years of professional soccer experience, playing for the St. Louis Ambush since 2014. Coach Ross is one of the longest-tenured members of the Soccer Shots Greater St. Louis team and was recently promoted to Director of Coaching, with responsibility for coaching performance, staffing, training and development.
Director of Public Partner Services / Senior Coach
Coach Danny graduated from Truman State University with a B.A. in Communication Studies and minor in English; Danny also has an A.A. in Education. Originally from Pennsylvania, Coach Danny coached for Soccer Shots in Lehigh Valley, PA for four years prior to moving to Missouri. His professional background also includes one year as a Sports Coordinator for the YMCA in Kirksville, MO, as well as experience in counseling with The Life Ability Center, where he worked with adolescents with developmental disabilities. Danny rejoined Soccer Shots in Greater St. Louis in 2018, first as a coach, followed by a promotion to the Director, Public Partner Services role, where he has accountability for public-facing programs within Soccer Shots in addition to coaching. If you ask Coach Danny about coaching, he is quick to reply that when he’s coaching with Soccer Shots and working with children in Soccer Shots classes, he is the happiest. Soccer Shots is thrilled to have Coach Danny on the team and look forward to the impact he will have on children and families in our programs.
Beginning in his Grandmother’s backyard, Coach Jonathan started playing soccer at a young age. He joined the Eastway Middle School team at 13 years old and went straight to the varsity team where they won the regional championship 2 years in a row. Soccer continued to be Coach Jonathan’s priority in high school. He joined the Matthews USA club team, which went on to win several championships. Jonathan was named MVP of various tournaments. He continued on to play soccer at Southwestern Assemblies of God University for 5 years. His team played in the NCCAA Nationals in his first year; they won the regional championship. Coach Jonathan was captain of his team 3 of the 4 years he played. He was Rookie of the Year, Champion of Character, and Heart of a Lion. Coach Jonathan has also worked for FC Dallas Youth Clubs. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Sports Management. Post-college, he continued training as a player for Tony Glavin’s PDL team “The Lions.” “I want to help the next generation of kids enjoy the beautiful game of soccer; I want them to fall in love with it.” Coach Jonathan also works as Club Director at Ambassadors Football Club STL. If he doesn’t answer to Coach, you can call him by his nickname “Colocho,” which means curls!
Coach Jerjer (JJ) came to United States in 2007 from Liberia. JJ started playing soccer at the age of 14 and began coaching in 2010. JJ signed his first professional contract in 2013 after two years at Wilmington University in Delaware. JJ moved to St. Louis in 2017 to play with the St. Louis Ambush. JJ is very passionate about coaching and the development of all players as he himself knows the important of player development after starting at a late age.
Axel is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. He began playing for professional soccer club Caracas F.C. (the youth academy) at the age of 14. Axel came to the US when he was 17 to continue his soccer career and education at Lindenwood University. He made 64 game appearances in 4 years and was named captain his junior and senior years. In 2014, Axel graduated from Lindenwood with an undergraduate degree in Marketing.
Since finishing his degree, he has played soccer at the professional level in Sweden, Venezuela and the United States, including the St. Louis Ambush. He has also spent a lot of time coaching in the St. Louis area, mostly for the St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club.
Coach Brynne grew up in Naperville, Illinois and moved to Missouri three years ago. She played soccer competitively growing up and now plays in recreational leagues. Coach Brynne has an educational background in Psychology and recently returned to school to continue studying Human Development. She is passionate about using her love of soccer to help children grow and learn new skills!
Coach Emilee joined the Soccer Shots team in Fall 2018. Her degree is in Elementary Education from Benedictine College in Atchinson, KS; while in college, Coach Emilee played four years collegiate volleyball for Benedictine. She also played soccer as a youth, through high school. Additionally, Coach Emilee coached Middle School, JV, and Varsity volleyball at Cassidy School in Oklahoma City, OK. She loves working with children and has served as a nanny for approximately 5 years prior to taking time off after the birth of her son, Mylo.
Coach Angela joined Soccer Shots in the fall of 2018. She has a Bachelor’s in Business from Buena Vista University, and has been the CEO of her household, serving as a proud stay-at-home mom for her family of 5, since 2007. Coach Angela’s four sons and one daughter have grown up playing soccer (as well as other sports and activities) and she’s enjoyed supporting them from the sidelines, and sometimes from the coaching bench, over the years. Prior to joining her family full time, Coach Angela worked in the corporate world, in events coordination and management for major clients. She grew up playing sports, primarily volleyball, and enjoys the experience of introducing children to sports in a fun and creative way through Soccer Shots.
Coach Kelsey C.
Coach Kelsey graduated with a B.A. in Spanish and Psychology from DePauw University and is currently pursuing a M.S. in Occupational Therapy from Washington University School of Medicine. Coach Kelsey’s honors include graduating Cum Laude, and she was a member of the Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society for Athletics & Academics, Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology, and National Society of Collegiate Scholars, as well as on the DePauw Dean’s List six times and the Tiger Pride Honor Roll seven times. Coach Kelsey was a National Merit Special Scholar and a DePauw University Trustee Award winner as well. In addition to academics, Kelsey has been a soccer player for most of her life and was a midfielder for the DePauw University Women’s Soccer team, where she won the DePauw University Tiger Award (2016), NCAC All-Academic Award (2015, 2016), and was part of the Leadership Committee (2015) during a time when the team won conference and tournament championships and made a bid for the NCAA tournament. Kelsey has also worked with young children, including volunteer coaching for a U6 youth soccer team, several years as a swim instructor and lifeguard for youth and adults, and prior experience as a nanny. Kelsey joined Soccer Shots in August 2018 as an Assistant Coach and quickly obtained the Level 1 coaching certification within the Soccer Shots Coaching Academy, earning a promotion to Coach within her first month on the team.
Coach Kelsey H.
Coach Kelsey graduated from Webster University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences, emphasis in Health and Medicine, with extensive honors that include graduating Magna Cum Laude. Coach Kelsey was a multi-year recipient of the Dueber Fogarty Scholar Award for Academic Excellence (2015, 2016, 2017) as well as the Webster Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). Coach Kelsey was a member of the Webster University Women’s Soccer Team, earning the Webster University Women’s Soccer Scholar Athlete Award (2016, 2017), SLIAC All-Academic Honors (2015, 2016, 2017), and was a member of the SLIAC Division III All Tournament Conference Team (2017). Additionally, Kelsey was an elementary school math tutor through the Webster University Math Tutoring Program, and has refereed youth soccer through CYC Sports Official Association for the last 11 years. Kelsey is also a club trainer with PAO Soccer Academy, and joined Soccer Shots as an Assistant Coach in August 2018, supporting Soccer Shots’ families in South County.
Coach Austin graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor’s in Business, double majoring in Management and Marketing, where he was a member of the Men’s Soccer Team, including starts in both NCAA tournament games for the Hoyas and was a member of the Big East All-Academic Team. Austin played for the Baltimore Bohemians (2013, 2014, 2015) in the PDL before signing his first professional contract in the Maltese Premier League, with Pembroke Athleta, in 2015. Austin returned to the U.S. in 2016, signing with Wilmington Hammerheads (USL), and then joined Orlando City B (USL) in 2017. Austin was signed by St. Louis FC in 2018. Off the field, Austin co-leads a league-wide podcast with teammate Jake Fenalson called “From the Pitch” and is a supporter of Soccer Shots’ strategic club partner, Ambassadors Football Club.
Coach Alyssa joined Soccer Shots in August 2018 and is excited about working with young children and introducing them to the game she loves. Alyssa has been a soccer player for most of her life, including three years on the St. Charles West High School Varsity Soccer Year and was 2nd team All GAC North Conference (2017), 1st team All GAC North Conference (2018), All District team (2018), All Region team (2018), and 2nd team All-State, class two (2018). Alyssa also plays for SLSG Bayern Munich Select. Alyssa is also involved in the SCW High School Orchestra, including three years with UMSL Des Lee Orchestra, and has been a member of the SCW High School Varsity Swim Team for three years as well as two years on SCW High School Varsity Cross Country (GAC 2nd Team). Alyssa also places high emphasis on her school work and is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on the “Straight A Honor Roll” as well as part of the SCW “Top Ten Percent” for the last three years.
Coach Chelsea graduated with a B.S. in Child Development with a minor in Social Work from Southeast Missouri State University in 2014 and is pursuing a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University. Chelsea brings extensive experience in working with young children to the Soccer Shots team, including two years as an assistant teacher with the University School for Young Children in Cape Girardeau, MO, four years of full-time assistant teaching with four and five-year-old children at Clayton Early Childhood Center in Clayton, Missouri. Chelsea is also a soccer player, including two years with the Southeast Missouri State University soccer team; both years, Chelsea was selected as a Scholar Athlete.
