Director of Coaching
Coach Katie is our Director of Coaching. She has not only played soccer since she was 3, but has also coached several soccer teams of different ages over the last several years. Katie has been coaching for Soccer Shots since 2017, and she is very excited to teach the game of soccer to all her friends on Soccer Island!
Director of Operations
Coach Amanda is our Director of Operations and she grew up in Iowa, where she graduated from the University of Iowa with an Elementary Education degree. Prior to joining Soccer Shots in May of 2018, Coach Amanda served as a lead preschool teacher in Denver, CO. She loves working with students, and getting to be a fun and exciting part of their day! When she isn’t coaching soccer, she is outside climbing, hiking, or running!
Coach Abigail has been playing soccer since she can remember. She currently attends UNCG after transferring from Francis Marion University where she played soccer there for 2 years. She is studying to be a Speech and Language Pathologist at UNCG. She has played travel soccer for PTFC over the years and won 4 state championships doing so. She also played basketball in High School. Besides coaching soccer she likes to watch Netflix, hang out with her friends and watch UNC play basketball.
Coach Alex has a passion for the game of soccer and is excited to share the game with young players. Coach Alex has played soccer since the age of 3, from preschool YMCA programs to Club soccer. He also played for his high school as a goalie. Coach Alex enjoyed participating in a teacher cadet program with 1st graders in 2015 and is currently attending GTCC. When Coach Alex is not coaching on Soccer Island, you can find him watching Chelsea games, camping, biking, and playing FIFA.
Coach Billy at the age of 3 developed a love of all sports while watching his father coach High School Basketball and Football. Coach Billy started playing soccer at 8 years old and played for a variety of club teams across NC, high school and at East Carolina. Coach Billy graduated from UNC-CH with degrees in Psychology and Sociology. Coach Billy currently holds all 4 of the Grassroots USSF coaching licenses and is working on his “D” license. In his free time Coach Billy enjoys being on the sideline and cheering for his son who is currently a player with NC Fusion.
Coach Edwin has a huge passion for the game, his motto is “The ball is my best friend.” He has been playing soccer since he was 6 years old. He has played for his High School, NC Fusion, and Semi Pro team FC Cardinals as a Left Winger or Center Attacking Midfielder. Currently, attends Western Carolina University and is part of the Army National Guard. He is very excited to show the love of the game to future generations to come!
Coach Holly loves soccer and has played soccer for most of her life! She started playing at the age of four, and played all the way through her freshman year of college. She played travel soccer for PTFC and was a member of a four-time state championship team. Holly is currently studying Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. When Holly is not coaching, she is dreaming about Disney or listening to her favorite music. Holly is excited to make new friends who love to play soccer, and share her knowledge of the game to her new soccer friends!
Coach Jamie has played soccer since the age of four. Growing up in Rocky Mount, NC, she played through the YMCA, the NCYSA, and in high school. After working in the museum field for almost ten years, Coach Jamie has decided to return to her love of soccer and fitness and is currently studying to become a Certified Personal Trainer. When not on soccer island, she enjoys being outdoors, hanging out with friends and playing with her dog Jackson. Coach Jamie is excited to share her love of soccer with her new friends!
Coach JJ has been helping young players learn the game since he was 10 years old. He began by helping his father coach, and then became a player himself and played on several teams across NC. Coach JJ enjoys sharing his passing for Soccer with our Soccer Friends. He also loves rugby, traveling, and speaks 3 languages- Spanish, Serbian, and German.
Coach Justin has played soccer since he was four years old. He played on many club soccer teams while growing up in Raleigh. He graduated from Campbell University with a sports management degree. When he is not coaching he likes to play sports, kayak, and play with his dog Blueberry. Coach Justin is thrilled to share his love of soccer with his new friends!
Coach Kailey grew up in Parkersburg, WV and has been playing soccer since she was 3 years old! She played competitively on multiple travel teams and was captain of her varsity soccer team in high school. She recently graduated from High Point University with a B.S. in Exercise Science with a Concentration in Health and Wellness and a B.A. in Biology. She now attends UNCG and is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Public Health. She loves being outdoors, travelling, and looks forward to meeting all of her new friends!
Coach Kathryn is a student at Greensboro College where she is studying criminal justice and psychology, with minors in Spanish and legal administration. Coach Kathryn has been playing soccer for 15 years and is currently a captain of the Greensboro College Women’s Soccer team. Aside from soccer, Coach Kathryn loves to sing and to travel. Soccer has always been a huge part of Coach Kathryn’s life, and she is so excited to help grow the game and share her passion for the sport with her Soccer friends!
Coach Madi is a student at Greensboro College where she is studying Exercise and Sport Studies with a concentration in Exercise Science. She has played soccer for 15 years and is currently playing soccer at Greensboro College. Besides soccer Coach Madi loves to paint, and play games. She is looking forward to sharing her love of soccer for the game with all her Soccer Friends!
Coach Marley currently serves as an assistant coach for the Greensboro College women’s soccer team. Coach Marley had a four-year playing career at St. Bonaventure University. In addition to her playing career, Coach Marley also worked as a staff assistant at Lakefront Soccer Club and also served as coach with the club from 2011-2017. Coach Marley is so excited to join the Soccer Shots team, where she can connect with and teach the game to our young Soccer Friends in the Triad!
Coach Mike has been helping youth competitors develop skills and positive character traits since the age of 15. Active in sports since the age of five, he enjoys coaching youths of all ages across an array of competitive capacities to include: T-ball, baseball, softball, flag-football, football, soccer, and even Chess Club. Mike’s career has allowed him to live in nine states and two countries where he has enjoyed not only coaching but hiking, kayaking, traveling, and reading. Coach Mike is grateful for the opportunity to bring his experience and passion for skill development to his new friends at Soccer Shots!
Coach Ryan has loved soccer since he was 6 years old. He played for many different leagues growing up and was recruited to play on a U12 team when he was just 9 years old! He played soccer all through middle school when he then started playing basketball. He came back to soccer as a coach in 2012 and truly feels like coaching soccer is his career path! He holds a U.S.S.F National “D” license with plans to continue his education and dreams of coaching in the MLS. In his free time, you can find him watching soccer, playing video games, or making Youtube videos!
Coach Sarah lives Stokesdale, NC. She is currently attending UNC Greensboro for her masters in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. She has her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Oswego where she received her BA in Criminal Justice and History with a minor in Coaching. During her time at Oswego she was a four-year defensive starter for the women’s soccer team. Coach Sarah has been playing soccer since she can remember and is now enjoying the game as a parent and coach. She spends her free time with her husband and three children, watching them participate in the game she loves! Coach Sarah cannot wait to share her enthusiasm for the game of soccer with all her young Soccer Friends that she will meet on Soccer Island!
Coach Sarah grew up in Greensboro, NC, where she played soccer from the age of 5 years old. She played on multiple travel teams including the Greensboro Twisters. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Psychology and is going back to get her master’s degree in Social Work from UNCG in the fall. When Coach Sarah isn’t playing soccer, she loves to travel. She lived in Thailand for four years where she enjoyed playing pick up games with her friends. Coach Sarah is passionate about working with children and is excited to combine this with her love of soccer! She can’t wait to meet all of her new friends on Soccer Island!
Coach Shantelle, originally from Alaska, moved to North Carolina 9 years ago and is now studying software engineering at Guilford Technical Community College. Starting at the age of 5, she has been a multi-sport athlete participating in soccer, softball, cheerleading, dance, gymnastics, and track and field. During her time playing, she began coaching and loves to help her friends learn new skills. When she is not coaching, she likes to cook, watch Disney movies, and dance! Coach Shantelle cannot wait to meet all of her new soccer friends and teach them all about soccer!
Coach Vicky, originally from England, moved to North Carolina in 2016 to get a degree in Special Education. She developed her love for soccer at 3 years old. She played for numerous clubs including 3 in the top division in the country. During her time playing she started coaching and has been doing it for many years. She wants to share her love for soccer through fun games on Soccer Island.
