Meet The Coaches

We are proud to have the best coaches in youth soccer.

Coach Mackenzie

Coach Mackenzie

Mackenzie was born and raised in Burlington and has been playing soccer since she was five years old. She played soccer all through school as well as during the summer with an organization called Reach Forth. Mackenzie is currently in school for Community and Justice Services and hopes to one day further her education into the Criminal Behavioral Analysist field. Mackenzie has volunteered in her local community by helping her elementary school with their annual Track and Field days. Mackenzie is excited to join Soccer Shots and be able to incorporate character skills all the while during learning soccer skills!

Coach Lara

Coach Lara

Raised in Mississauga, Lara is no stranger to the beautiful game of soccer; having played on her high school’s varsity team and for the North Mississauga Soccer Club. While soccer is her premier sport, she also played basketball, volleyball and karate during her younger years. Lara discovered her passion for coaching juniors when she took on the assistant youth soccer coach position at The Woodlands Secondary School. She also volunteered at Al-Tawfeeq Arabic School as a teacher’s assistant. Lara believes soccer is able to build children’s confidence and character alongside being an excellent source of a child’s recommended daily activity. While currently enrolled at McMaster University for Honors Life Science, Lara finds a balance between her academic responsibilities and her lively soccer life by engaging in extracurricular activities such as being McMaster’s Predental Club Director of Marketing and the VP Financial for the Middle Eastern Student’s Association.

Coach Emily

Coach Emily

Born and raised in Oakville, Emily found her love for soccer at the age of five. She played soccer throughout elementary school but began experimenting with other sports in high school such as rugby and field hockey. Emily was a swim instructor for many years and has taught children of all ages. She has just finished her undergraduate degree in Concurrent Education at Brock University and will be attending Teachers’ College in the fall. Emily has always had a passion for children and believes she can make a difference in every child’s life. She strives to see children succeed and grow developmentally, emotionally and physically. It’s the smile on the child’s face that encourages Emily to further her teaching career and the ongoing desire to help children grow. Emily is excited about coaching with Soccer Shots and being able to help children grow and learn to play soccer, but most importantly, have fun!
