COACH EMMA

COACH EMMA

Director of Coaching

Coach Emma is originally from North Carolina, where she began her career with Soccer Shots Charlotte. Being a soccer player herself who has a long history of working with youth, Emma has found her passion in Soccer Shots values and continues her seven years of experience with the company in the San Francisco Bay Area. She continues to play soccer through the Golden Gate Women’s Soccer League. She is first aid and CPR certified and has been working with children for over ten years. In her free time she enjoys staying as busy as possible with her pup, playing soccer, or reading as many short stories as she can get her hands on.

Director of Operations

Coach Jose, or Zé, was born in Texas but grew up in Portugal, having lived there most of his life. He played soccer in local academies at a competitive level and has not stopped ever since. As a globetrotter he also lived in Belgium and Denmark where he recently finished his M.A. in International Relations. He moved to the Bay Area in 2015 and his passion for soccer and working with children led him to Soccer Shots. Jose is fluent in English and Portuguese.

COACH JOSE

Lead Coach

Coach Jose is from Winton, CA. He has been playing soccer since he can remember and played on several organized teams in LA, Merced County, and the Bay Area. As a recent UC Berkeley grad, during his time he played on the club team for the school. Jose has worked with students of all age groups in one-on-one settings and in classroom settings. His favorite thing about working with children is being able to be a part of the things that make the children excited and he hopes to continue to inspire through Soccer Shots!

COACH CAT

Coach Cat was born and raised in Santa Monica, California. She started playing soccer at the age of 3 and has been playing ever since. She is currently a student at UC Berkeley and hopes to major in business. She has been working with children for four years and wishes to continue to bring joy into children’s lives. She hopes to spread her passion for soccer through coaching and wants to create an enjoyable environment to learn and develop as soccer players.

COACH DOM

Coach Dom was raised in Pasadena, California. He completed his BFA at CSUEB and is preparing to teach English as a second language in Japan. He is energetic and passionate about everyone developing key skills to fall in love with the game. He started playing soccer at the age of 3 and continues to play in city wide leagues for outdoor and futsal soccer. He has been working with children for over seven years and is keen on making sure that there is a fun and safe place for everyone to learn.

Coach Isis is a Berkeley born and raised soccer player. Having played for local teams such as ABSC Fireballs, Mavericks, Berkeley High School, and SF Nighthawks, Isis is deeply invested Bay Area soccer culture. They love to bring their enthusiasm and energy to sessions, and they excel at Coach Tag.

COACH KRYSTA

Coach Krysta is originally from West Philadelphia and now attends the University of California, Berkeley to study film and global studies. She enjoys running, traveling, and watching old films. While she stopped playing soccer, she remains passionate about the sport and supporting her community. Krysta has been a youth soccer coach for four years and is happy to be welcomed to the Soccer Shots family.

COACH VAL

COACH VAL

Coach Valeria was born in Nogales, Arizona. Growing up in a small town on the Mexican-American border, she was immersed into the culture of soccer. She began to play competitively forming the first girl’s team in Nogales to play soccer all over Arizona. She is now studying at the University of San Francisco, but enjoys coaching with Soccer Shots so that she can teach children what she learned about soccer – you learn more than just the rules of the game, you learn about life.
