Coach Joe grew up playing competitive soccer in Wales in the UK. He went on to playing soccer for his university in England, where he also studied sport sociology. Since he graduated, Joe took on the role of teaching assistant at a school which included leading physical education sessions to young children. Over the past two years Joe has worked at a sports summer camp for children in Pennsylvania, USA, mentoring them in a range of sports and positively building their confidence, character and self-esteem. Joe believes in the role that a coach plays in a young child’s life and values the development of children through sport. Joe is proud to be a part of Soccer Shots Markham and Richmond Hill as the Head Coach.
Coach David has been part of the soccer community from a very young age. He is very passionate about the sport and started his soccer career at the age of 5. He has been the captain and leading goal scorer in the GTA whilst playing for the Richmond Hill Raiders Soccer Club. Upon the end of his season with Richmond Hill, he was scouted by the Carlos Rivas Soccer Academy, travelling worldwide and playing soccer abroad. He has been a soccer coach since the age of 15 and continues to be a helpful role model and coach for all the children in the Greater Toronto Area. He spends a majority of his coaching schedule interacting and bonding with his soccer students, providing them a very enjoyable and positive atmosphere. He is always ready to spend quality coaching hours with his students and pursue them to reach their ultimate potential. David is currently a post secondary student at the University of Toronto, hoping to further educate himself as he is completing a Physiology and Chemistry double major program. David is happy to be a part of Soccer Shots, and is always ready to help the younger generation build character and skills, all while having fun!
Coach Alex was born and raised in Markham, Ontario. She plays ringette, hockey, soccer, and was a long distance runner. She has been playing ringette at the provincial ‘A’ level for 14 years with the Markham Bears Ringette Association and played rep soccer with the Markham Soccer Club for 9 years. Alex has been coaching ringette for 5 years and had coached for the City of Markham as an instructor for the Learn to Skate programs for 3 years. She has coached various age groups and levels of play; from teaching 3-5 year old’s the fundamentals of skating to 13 year old’s playing on a provincial ‘A’ ringette team. Alexandra is happy to share her love of coaching and sport as part of the Soccer Shots team!
