Maggie is studying at UBC in the faculty of Arts, and is looking forward to becoming an elementary school teacher when she completes her degree. She speaks fluent Cantonese, is working as a program leader for Burnaby MoreSports and has facilitated various physical literacy programs at the YMCA. She loves being physically active, especially running. Maggie’s favourite thing about working with our little Soccer Stars is finding some way to make their day and make them smile.
Tyler is currently attending Douglas college; studying kinesiology and looking forward to being a physiotherapist in the near future. Tyler is not only fluent in English, but fluent in sign language! Tyler spends a lot of time curling, running, and doing outdoor activities. Tylers favourite thing about Soccer Shots is working with our little soccer stars and knowing that he can influence their passion for the game and putting a smile on their face.
Alexandra has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old and still continues to play in women’s division. Alexandra has grown to love the dedication, healthy lifestyle and commitment that’s involved in sports; specifically in soccer. In addition, Alexandra loves working with kids. She thoroughly enjoys teaching and helping children as it has given her a great sense of pride. To Alexandra, Soccer Shots offers the best environment for her to teach and help children. Her favourite part about Soccer Shots is observing the excitement of the children when they know its Soccer Shots time.
Aliesha has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old and still continues to play at a high level in a women’s division. Growing up playing multiple sports she has grown to love the dedication, healthy lifestyle and commitment that comes along with it. Another passion of hers is kids. Ever since she was young she has loved to teach or help kids. Coaching at Soccer Shots Fraser Valley implements all of her passions into her dream job. She is thrilled to be able to have the best of both passions of working with kids while playing soccer. One of her favourite parts about working for Soccer Shots is seeing the children’s confidence grow not only as a player, but as an individual.
Meredith grew up playing many sports. Of them all, her favourites were soccer and swimming. She loves the discipline, athleticism and friendships she has made over the years through sport. She has worked as a swim instructor for five years and is currently a student in the teacher education program at SFU. Meredith delights in working with Soccer Shots because it combines her passions of teaching children and being physically active. She loves seeing how excited children get when they grasp a new skill for the first time and also following their progress throughout the season.
Melissa is currently a full-time teacher with School District 43; specifically working with the resource team at her elementary school. Melissa is an avid community member having accumulated numerous coaching hours through various organizations at the elite and recreation level. Furthermore, before becoming an educator, Melissa accumulated years of experience as a Behaviour Interventionist. As shown through her experiences, Melissa has a great passion working with children in the Metro Vancouver community. Melissa loves Soccer Shots due to it’s inclusivity, engagement and focus on character development as it will enhance lives of all children.
Giordano is currently acquiring a Bachelors of Physical Education and Coaching from Douglas College in pursuance of becoming a school teacher. Soccer has also been a major component of Giordano’s life; having begun playing at an early age of 4 years old and still playing mens soccer. Giordano is passionate about working with children and positively impacting their lives, especially through the sport of soccer. Giordano loves soccer shots due to its emphasis on positive experiences through soccer; encouraging all to try their best and believe in their selves.
Olivia is currently enrolled at Simon Fraser University in the health sciences stream with current aspirations to work in the health care system. Since she can remember, Olivia has played soccer. Thus, Olivia enjoys playing soccer in both recreational and competitive environments while also coaching the next generation. Olivia loves soccer shots due to its emphasis on character development; ensuring each child learns more than just soccer skills.
