Director of Coaching
Coach Sean was born and raised in East Sussex, United Kingdom. He started playing soccer from a very young age and it rapidly became his bread and butter. He played for club teams and attended a couple of academies throughout his academic years. Sean’s real journey and passion for coaching came when he captained a club for 5 years then moved into player/ coaching mode. He moved to the United States in 2014 and got hooked on coaching youth soccer. Sean is currently a licensed coach who is still eager to learn more. Coaching America’s future soccer players is the best job in the world and he feels as though he has so much to give back to the sport!
Director of Development
Coach Jon has aggressively consumed soccer since 1989. He started coaching in 2005 and has spent well over 200 hours attaining coaching licenses and certifications. Jon has coached players from age 2 through 19 including multiple Division One collegiate athletes. He has coached high school soccer for 6 years and spent 16 months working full-time at a nationwide recognized soccer academy. Having played soccer on 5 continents, Jon offers a unique perspective and fresh approach. He played collegiate soccer at Bethel University and in Chicago alongside teammates from Europe, South America & Africa. He also serves as the Technical Skill Director for North Suburban Soccer Association.
Coach Sam grew up in Wisconsin, but currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As the oldest of five Sam grew up surrounded by kids. He has a history as a volunteer in kids care programs, as a teacher in summer camps, and as a leader of kid activities during missions. Sam has played soccer since he was twelve, and in high school and college teams. He also loves to play pick-up whenever he can, and has played with locals during his travels into different countries, including Turkey, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Peru! Sam looks forward to each session with Soccer Shots, and loves to teach to the kids his favorite thing about soccer: Have fun!
Coach Joe grew up in Madison, WI and now resides in Minneapolis, MN. He has been competitively playing organized soccer since kindergarten. Joe attended college at the University of Minnesota, where he discovered his passion for an active lifestyle and working with children. He has been the Assistant Director at YMCA Camp Ihduhapi for the past few summers while also coaching various basketball teams. Joe is extremely enthusiastic to be teaching soccer and various life skills to the youth of today!
Coach Jordan has a true passion for working with children. She holds a degree in Elementary Education at UW-River Falls and is currently teaching elementary school children. She has worked with children extensively over the past several years babysitting, working at a daycare, being a camp counselor, and refereeing soccer. Jordan also has experience playing soccer as she played from the ages of 3 to 13. She currently enjoys being active by hiking, jogging, and snowboarding. She is excited to get to use her talents and passions to coach with Soccer Shots.
Tony has played soccer competitively since he was 8 years old. Although soccer is his main passion, he also ran track in high school. Tony has two sisters and grew up in Minneapolis and subsequently Edina where he played both J.V. and Varsity soccer at Edina High School. Tony has worked with children in the past both as a youth sports coach and program director at SABES JCC in St. Louis Park and as a licensed referee for the MYSA (Minnesota Youth Soccer Association). Tony is currently an undergrad at the University of Minnesota majoring in Political Science. Tony is also a cadet in AFROTC and is seeking a commission into the US Air Force upon graduation.
Coach Molly is a native of Eagan, MN where she started playing soccer at the age of 5. She played for Eagan High School and also intramurals a the University of Minnesota where she graduated from with a degree in Kinesiology. In addition to soccer, Molly also played hockey and track growing up. On top of playing sports, she enjoys rollerblading and hanging out with friends and family. She has experience working as a paraprofessional for District 196 schools, a rehab aide at the Courage Kenny Rehab Center, and as a hockey coach for various hockey camps. She is a great addition to our team and brings a lot of knowledge and energy to the pitch!
Coach Leo has been playing soccer since he was in high school. Originally from Chicago, he moved to Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota where he will be graduating in the spring of 2017. He really loves working with children and has enjoyed many summers working as a lifeguard at a pool near his house. In the future, Leo hopes to become a Pharmacist!
Coach Stephanie has been playing soccer since she was in high school. Originally from Door County Wisconsin, she moved to St Louis Park just over a year ago. She is current an elementary special education teacher. She really loves working with children of all ages and has passion to keep them active. Some hobbies she enjoys are running, snowboarding and watching the beloved Green Packers!
Coach Riley grew up in both Florida and Wisconsin before moving to Eagan to graduate from high school, and ultimately moving to the Minneapolis area to attend the University of Minnesota as an English major. He really enjoys working with kids, and has a passion for fitness and nutrition. He played soccer from five to eight years old and has great memories of his experience from that time. He aims to provide the children he coaches with the same fun learning opportunity. Riley’s hobbies include weightlifting, hiking, snowboarding, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
Coach Megan grew up in Bloomington and played soccer since age 8. She played varsity soccer for Bloomington Kennedy and was named to the all conference and all state team as a senior. She also played for an U19 women’s traveling team while in Minnesota. She lived in Texas for 20 years where she raised 2 children who graduated from college and now have fulfilling careers. In Texas, Megan taught preschool, was a summer day camp instructor, volunteered as a youth soccer coach and was an assistant coach for an U14 club team. She also took a coaches training course and holds a D coaching license. She has played soccer through her adulthood. In her free time, she likes to watch youth soccer, lacrosse, and football as well as all college and professional sports. She is happy to be back “home” to be with her friends and family.
Coach Scott grew up in Northfield, Minnesota. He started playing soccer when he was 5 and played through high school. He earned his BA in Exercise Science from St. Olaf in 2014. Since then he has spent 2 years working as a paraprofessional at an elementary school in Northfield and coaching soccer at St. Olaf. Coach Scott enjoys playing soccer and tennis in his free time.
Coach Justin grew up playing soccer in Westminster, Colorado. He then went on to play soccer for Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where he was a four-year starter, two-year captain, and two-time all-MIAC honorable mention. He graduated in 2015 with a degree in English and moved to the twin cities area in August. Justin has been coaching youth soccer since 2012, first with Tri-City Storm Soccer in Fargo and now with Blaine Soccer Club! He is pursuing a career in youth soccer and he’s excited to be on the Soccer Shots team!
Coach Jessica was born and raised in Maplewood, MN! She graduated from century college with her Liberal arts degree, and graduated from Rasmussen college with her associates degree in medical assisting and then with her bachelor’s degree in Healthcare management. Jessica has had always had a passion for working with kids. She has been a nanny, a swim instructor, a dance teacher and a soccer coach. Coach Jessica currently is working as a medical assistant in oncology, and hopes to one day work with pediatrics. She also currently teaches dance at the studio she grew up dancing in. When coach Jessica isn’t working, you can find her boating, traveling, playing softball, spending time with friends and family, dancing and loving the outdoors!
Coach Carol has been playing her whole life. She came from a soccer family where her two older brothers and parents also played soccer. She is originally from Plymouth Minnesota and now lives in River Falls Wisconsin. Coach Carol has also worked as a nanny, cook, and a caregiver at the YMCA. Some of her hobbies, besides soccer, are going for runs, cooking, traveling, and scuba diving. She is very excited to be working with Soccer Shots to spread the love for soccer.
Coach Heder has played soccer since he was 8 years old. He has been playing soccer in his dad’s soccer team where they have won countless league championships. Coach Heder has also played High School Varsity for the Richfield Spartans. He is eager to keep learning and moving up in coaching to eventually reach college or professional coaching. In his free time you can find him, camping, fishing, hiking, paddle boarding, playing soccer, or at a lot of restaurants checking out their special dish.
Coach Sarah grew up in Woodbury and currently attends school at the University of Minnesota. From day one, Sarah was on the move, climbing and jumping on anything she could or couldn’t reach. She is always high-energy and channels some of that energy into coaching high school cheerleaders. Sarah is incredibly excited to coach soccer and help encourage young children to get up and play! In the future, Sarah would love to use her Food Science degree to teach children about food and cooking.
Coach Bridget is a student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. She grew up in St. Paul and enjoys spending her time with her friends, her big family, and loves to cook, laugh, and spend time in the sun. She has experience with children babysitting and nannying and working as a caregiver at the neighborhood church. She has been playing soccer since she could walk and hasn’t stopped since.
Coach Michael has been playing soccer since he was consistently able to run without falling on his face. Growing up in San Jose, California, he played competitively all through high school, while also working as a youth soccer coach after school and during summer and winter breaks. After deciding he didn’t want 365 days of sunshine a year, he decided to attend Indiana University and study journalism before recently moving to Minneapolis, where he is also working as a freelance sports reporter.
Coach Matt grew up in Forest Lake and started playing soccer when he was only 3 years old. He played club soccer growing up and it quickly became his passion. Having played in high school and college he wishes for kids to grow up loving and excelling in the sport, with the goal of playing competitive in the future. He has coached kids for the YMCA as well as other soccer programs around the Twin Cities. Matt is excited for the opportunity to be a part of Soccer Shots and help the youth develop their skills. He plans on finishing school and obtain a bachelors degree in sport management and being involved with soccer, working, coaching, or playing for the rest of his life!
Taylor is a native of Menomonie, WI, where he grew up playing soccer from an early age. Taylor graduated college in 2016 and is currently a graduate student at UW-River Falls, where he studies School Counseling. Taylor’s passion for working with children is evident as he has over 10 year of experience with children. Taylor works for the River Falls School District as a program lead in the district’s before and after school program. Throughout his different jobs Taylor places an emphasis on the growth of every child, and works to help them learn and improve every day. In his free time Taylor loves camping, music, hiking, and being outdoors.
Coach Josh grew up in Russia until he was adopted at the age of 9 and found his new home in Wichita, Kansas. Josh first fell in love with soccer while playing with his friends in the Russian orphanage. Josh has played competitive soccer since the age of 9, including being on the 2011 Trinity Academy State Championship team. Josh was also a four-year starter of the Manhattan Christian College (MCC) men’s soccer team with four trips to the national NCCAA tournament. Joshua has always loved kids and has served in a variety of capacities in his church. He is newly married and new to Minnesota. Josh is finishing up his last year of his Business Management and Ethics degree at MCC. He is super excited to not only be working with children-but also passing on his love of the game through Soccer Shots!
Coach Amanda grew up in McCall, Idaho before going to college in Madison, Wisconsin for kinesiology and then massage therapy school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up playing soccer from the early age of 5 and also transitioned into other sports throughout her early childhood. Cross country running and cross country skiing were among her favorites! Coach Amanda also coaches Girls on the run along with volunteer coaching her children. Her family leads a very active lifestyle.
Coach Melissa is from Superior, Wisconsin. She started playing soccer when she was 4 years old! Growing up she also played Basketball, Volleyball and Softball. Coach Melissa knew from the young age of 10 that she wanted to work with children. She currently attends the University Of Wisconsin – River Falls with a major in Psychology. Coach Melissa is also a supply specialist in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. She loves to travel and learn about exciting things in history!
Coach Charlie has been coaching soccer since the age of 15 in Wisconsin, where he was born and raised. He has always been excited by sports, having played many through childhood, but he has a clear favorite in soccer. Since attending the University Of Minnesota, Coach Charlie is always looking for opportunities to play the sport he loves and pass on his passion for the game onto the next generations. Coach Charlie likes to make music and soccer videos, write session plans and watch soccer when not coaching or playing – which isn’t very often!
Coach Alycia has been playing soccer since the age of 4. She enjoy sharing her knowledge learned over the years with the youth of today whilst having loads of fun! Currently working as a Correctional Deputy, Alycia has a work history in child care/human services, coaching and at risk youth mentoring. Coach Alycia believes there is never a dull moment with kids and loves that there is always something to learn!
Coach Julie grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota. She started playing Soccer when she was 8 years old. Growing up she also played Basketball, Golf and ran track.
At the age of 12 she was certified as a MYSA Referee. She recently graduated from the University Of Wisconsin, River Falls with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in mathematics. Coach Julie also loves traveling and learning about different cultures and trying new foods!
Coach Eli Has been playing Soccer for over 13 years in a multitude of different settings. While currently living in St. Paul, he grew up in Northfield, Minnesota where an enormous soccer community exists despite it being a smaller town. At the age of 14 he began coaching his younger brothers traveling club team, and having enjoyed this experience immensely he decided to continue coaching children at varying skill levels for many years. Along with this, he has worked closely with younger children and the community as part pf the youth board at Northfield’s union of youth.
The ability to transfer the knowledge and love of the beautiful game to children is priceless!
Coach Mallory grew up in Illinois and moved to the Twin Cities area to attend college and play Soccer.
She recently graduated from Hamline University, where she was a four year starter and received a degree in Exercise Science and Public Health Sciences. Beyond personal playing experiences, she has experience coaching for both Maplebrook Soccer Club and Simley High School. Her other passion besides Soccer is helping others succeed and achieve their goals. Coach Mallory has a variety of volunteer experiences with Special Olympics, Team IMPACT, Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Center and Fit4Recovery. She will continue her passion for helping others in graduate school as she works on her Doctorate Of Physical Therapy and coaching with Soccer Shots.
Working with children has always been an extremely rewarding experience for her and she is excited to have positive impact on children’s lives through Soccer Shots
Coach Patty currently resides in Eagan but has spent the last 20 years in Minneapolis raising three soccer players. She has volunteered as a coach for her children’s soccer teams as well as other sports teams. She has years of experience working with children in a variety of settings: in-home childcare, childcare centers, as a nanny, and a swim instructor. She believes that play is important and lives an active lifestyle! When not watching her own children play sports or driving them to various activities, she enjoys yoga, reformer, swimming, hiking, kayaking or just enjoying the outdoors especially in the summer!
Coach David was born and raised in Germany, until he moved to Minnesota at the age of eleven. His father was a semiprofessional player, and thus, the sport quickly became his passion. He started playing club when he was four and is still going strong. In Minneapolis, soccer became more than a sport, it became a way to connect with the cultures, and the people around him. In college, David noticed that the competitive environment lacked cooperative character. Instead of pursuing a competitive career, he developed a joy for passing on his passion. David, always wants to learn more about child development and tries to teach his younger siblings, ages two and five as much as he can. After doing an internship at a soccer summer camp for two consecutive years, he was eager to further pursue a career as a youth instructor. Currently, David is finishing his transfer degree at MCTC, and is looking forward to finishing his education at the U of M to become a chiropractor.
Coach Daniel is from the West Metro Of Minneapolis and has been playing soccer since he was very young. He loved it so much that he carried it to South America during a student exchange program and then to the University Of Miami where he played pick up matches with his school friends. Business was his area of expertise, but he started working with children as a paraprofessional substitute in the Twin Cities metro during the Spring of 2017. When I knew I could coach Soccer with Soccer Shots, I knew I loved the kids and the sport so this seemed like a dream come true. I love the challenge and love being active. Outside of soccer and coaching my other interests are Ukulele, garden craft, woodwork and the enjoying company of my friends and family
Coach Jenna was born and raised in Minnesota. She started playing soccer at 13 and has loved it ever since. She has experience working with youth in Minnesota, Japan, and the United Kingdom. During her time at the University of Wisconsin- River Falls, she designed a research project on football being used to battle social exclusion in the UK. She worked with organizations in that used football to reduce homelessness and youth crime. Soccer and development quickly became a passion which lead her to becoming a coach for Soccer Shots She hopes to use soccer to inspire future generations.
Coach Dave C
Coach Dave grew up with a dad in the army so have had the opportunity to live in many different states and areas around the country. He has lived in Minnesota for 12 years. Soccer became his passion during the World Cup in 2006, and he has been in love with the sport since then. In his free time, Coach Dave enjoys volunteering and giving time back to the community. Dave also enjoys watching baseball and spending time with his niece, who is the light of his life! Soccer and youth development are his two favorite things about life and he loves being a coach at soccer shots!
Coach Briar has been playing soccer since she was was 8 years old. She attended her first two years of college at Tarleton State University in Texas and played on the school’s Rec team her freshman year. Now, Briar attends the University of Minnesota where she is studying Sport Management in hopes of working as a college professor and academic adviser for athletes. She has always loved working with children and is excited to have the opportunity to motivate kids to be active and have fun!
