Meet The Coaches

We are proud to have the best coaches in youth soccer.

Coach Addy

Coach Addy

Coach Addy was born in Seattle and grew up in Northampton, Massachusetts. He recently graduated with a Bachelors in Engineering Physics from Tulane University, where he was also on the sailing team. Every summer Coach Addy coaches sailing in Michigan  and now he also coaches the Jesuit High School sailing team here in New Orleans. After being on soccer and basketball teams throughout his childhood Coach Addy joined Soccer Shots for the chance to help give kids some of the experiences he had. He believes that the lessons in teamwork, confidence and respect learned in organized sports are important for every child. Coach Addy hopes he can teach these values to the kids while also learning from them and their amazing imaginations every single day. Coach Addy has his United States Soccer Coach F License.

Coach Marco

Coach Marco

Coach Marco was born and raised in the historic city of New Orleans, LA, and is a 4th generation New Orleanian from his mother’s side.  His father is from Quito, Ecuador and came to North America when he was 20 years old.  Soccer, being the number one passion of the Ecuadorian people, is where Coach Marco learned his desire and love for the game. Along with his love of the game of soccer, Coach Marco also has a strong passion for music, and is very active playing music on the praise and worship ministry at the church he attends.  Coach Marco is also a student at Loyola University of New Orleans pursuing a degree in Music Therapy, as well as getting certified as a Spanish to English Legal and Medical Translator at the same university.  When Coach Marco isn’t coaching soccer, he also works with clients who have high functioning exceptionalities and who are on the spectrum.  Working with kids and introducing them to the fun game of soccer gives Coach Marco a great sense of purpose which he feels is very rewarding and very grateful to be a part of the Soccer Shots Organization.

Coach Leah

Coach Leah

Coach Leah was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida and has currently made a home in New Orleans, Louisiana. She grew up playing softball, cross country, gymnastics, and dance. Some of her favorite childhood memories are going to Disney World, Universal and Wild Adventures with her family, swimming in her family pool, playing with her younger sister and going to her grandparents’ house for the holidays. Her dream is to one day live on the beach and counsel those in need. She is currently getting her BA at Leavell College, minoring in Missions and Counseling. If Leah was not studying counseling or coaching in New Orleans she would be a meteorologist because she has always loved watching and studying the weather since she was in elementary school. The craziest thing Leah has ever done was go parasailing with her sister and aunt. Coach Leah finds great joy in being a coach for children and having a positive impact in their life. Coaching with Soccer Shots allows you to have fun, be silly, positively impact children’s lives and give them confidence in themselves and in the sport.

Coach Sarah - Soccer Shots

Coach Sarah

Operations Coordinator

Born and raised in Jackson, MS, Coach Sarah started playing soccer at a young age. Though it might have been because the local soccer complex was down the street from where she lived, Sarah Jane and her siblings lived the soccer lifestyle of Saturday games for many years. When she stopped soccer for other less athletic efforts in middle school, the lessons of confidence, cooperation, and responsibility stuck with her. While in college at Ole Miss, Sarah Jane was the site manager for a tutoring program for 1st and 2nd graders. This community involvement sparked a passion for enrichment programs for children.  After graduating with degrees in English and Psychology, Sarah Jane turned her efforts towards marketing and business development at Jackson Academy. However, a move to New Orleans in 2014 allowed SJ to return to working with children. After a summer working for Holy Cross’s Summer Camp, she once again moved back into the business sector. With two years of business experience under her belt, Sarah Jane has finally returned back to her passionate roots of working with children. She is excited to teach the same lessons that she learned years ago playing soccer to kids every day! She knows the deep impact that youth sports can have on a child’s life and can’t wait to share her passion with the New Orleans community!

Coach Brandon - Soccer Shots

Coach Brandon

Partner Services Coordinator

Coach Brandon is a New Orleans native with a rich history in both soccer and education. He began playing soccer at age 9 and was selected in high school as the Player of the Year for his district (2008) while attending St. Martin’s Episcopal High School. Coach Brandon went on to play two years of college soccer at Millsaps College where he graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy. Since graduating Brandon has gone on to live in Mexico where he started an economic development program aimed at raising the income of rural seamstresses, has worked in mobile technology and in New Orleans’ service industry. Brandon loves to use his experience from the multiples industries in which he has worked to help youth get more active, more confident and score more goals.

Coach Edgar - Soccer Shots

Coach Edgar

Director of Coaching

Coach Edgar is from Metairie, Louisiana. He graduated from the University of New Orleans with a B.A. in History. Edgar has worked the last five years in Recreation and Intramural Sports, before finding his passion to work with children after coaching soccer at Archbishop Rummel High School. He was also involved in many organizations as an undergraduate and was President of Theta Xi Fraternity. Edgar currently serves as president of his fraternity’s alumni chapter and as an advisor for Theta Xi at UNO. His Soccer journey began at the age of five, playing for multiple clubs around the New Orleans area, in high school playing varsity soccer for Archbishop Rummel, and then finally club soccer at the University of New Orleans. Edgar also has a passion for martial arts and is a 2nd-degree black belt in Taekwon-do, as well as coaches the University of New Orleans Taekwon-do Club. Having a sister that is seventeen years older than him, Edgar basically grew up as an only child. Soccer was an incredible way to make new friends and gave him his first passion in life. Edgar strives to replicate the positive impact his youth coaches left on him, to local children via Soccer Shots.

Coach Zach - Soccer Shots

Coach Zach

Owner

Coach Zach graduated from Belhaven University in Jackson, MS. He has a long history with sports. While growing up, his dad was a gym teacher at a private school in Florida. He spent every summer and every day after school in the gym or on the field playing. This leads him to have a healthy active lifestyle as an adult. He believes that having a positive first impression with sports can make a huge difference in a child’s life. Zach’s mission is to provide that for every child in Soccer Shots New Orleans.

Coach Joe - Soccer Shots

Coach Joe

Joe is a Scottish native, who learned to play soccer (aka football in Scotland!) at the same time he learned to walk. He believes that learning soccer can be a valuable pathway in teaching children the importance of teamwork and making healthy life choices. Joe continues to play in 2 soccer teams in the New Orleans area and still enjoys to this day the benefits of the game learned long ago. It is his goal with Soccer Shots to pass those lifelong benefits on to the next generation. Joe graduated university in Scotland and moved to the New Orleans area 2 years ago to be by his son who is 4 years old. Joe is delighted to see the positive impact that soccer is having on his son’s life and the wider community. Coach Joe has his United States Soccer Coach F License.

Coach Stephen

Coach Stephen

Team Coordinator

Coach Stephen was born in Colorado, raised in California, lived in Florida, had a brief stint in Texas and has made a home in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a huge baseball fan and grew up playing on the sandlots and the city little leagues. He also tried to play basketball, football, and tennis. Some of his favorite childhood memories were growing up on the farm, going to grandpa’s house for history lessons and looking at the stars through the telescope. He studied history at Reedley College in California and took a short break from education and joined the honorable United States Air Force. After a four-year enlistment, he then pursued his dream in education in Theology and Youth Ministry. He has recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Education and minoring in History and Youth Ministry at Leavell Bible College. If Stephen was not a youth pastor or coaching in New Orleans, he would probably either be a paleontologist because he loves dinosaurs or be a missionary in Uganda. His hero is his father, who has shown him how to be a leader, a teacher, and how to be missionary driven no matter what the cost. If he had one week anywhere around the world, it would be going back to Israel to study their rich history. The craziest thing that Stephen ever did beside marrying the woman of his dreams, was when he completed Basic Military Training with top honors and was awarded “Warrior Flight”. Coach Stephen finds great joy in being a coach and enjoys personal impressionable impact on each child’s life in a positive way. Getting down to their level and seeing the world through their eyes is a beautiful thing. Coaching with Soccer Shots allows you to be silly, fun and give children confidence in themselves and in the game. Coach Stephen has his United States Soccer Coach F License.
