Mel graduated from Mid-America University with a BS in psychology where she played soccer and collected many conference, regional and national accolades. She has many years of experience coaching competitive and academy soccer and holds several national coaching licenses. Mel loves that Soccer Shots curriculum is aligned with early childhood guidelines and the impact the Soccer Shots coaching staff is able to make in the community!
Director of Operations
Blake first began playing soccer at the age of seven in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan. She continued playing competitive soccer on the defensive line for 10 years. After graduating high school she went on to study psychology at Oakland Community College and Oklahoma State – OKC. She has many years of experience working in youth programs and has a passion for investing in her community. Her favorite part of working for Soccer Shots is getting to see the positive impact the coaches and the curriculum have on children and their families.

Coach MaKayla joins Soccer Shots from Houston, TX where she attended Texas Southern University. At TSU she played soccer while earning a Bachelors in Health Studies and a Masters in Kinesiology. MaKayla was the team captain, earned many awards in the SWAC conference, and coached as the graduate assistant. She has coached many soccer camps and enjoys being able to give back and impact the youth through soccer.

Coach Brooke has been playing soccer since she was the age of four in Oklahoma and in Wisconsin. She is currently a student studying criminal justice at the University of Central Oklahoma. Brooke loves coaching because she’s able to make children smile just as much as she did as a kid playing soccer.

Jacqui was born in the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi. She first learned how to play soccer or “football” in kindergarten. Jacqui is passionate about sports and that’s why the Soccer Shots curriculum impresses her with its goal of teaching young players. Jacqui has also been a swim coach for over 15 years both in Kenya and Oklahoma and holds a level 5 certification from the American swimming coaches association.

Kaylee has participated in athletics, including soccer, since she was four years old. After graduating high school, she went on to study Kinesiology and Biology at the University of Central Oklahoma. She has experience in personal training, sports medicine and coaching at youth camps. Her favorite part about Soccer Shots is seeing the children grow through each session.

Coach Jose joins Soccer Shots OKC from Friona, Texas which is a small town outside of Amarillo. He has loved soccer ever since he took his first steps as a child, and played for many years throughout middle school. He is passionate about investing in youth sports and finds the children’s creativity and imagination makes coaching so much fun. Jose also enjoys volunteering at Life Church kids programs and participates in a for children outdoor running team called the Canaries.

Charly is from Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He played recreational soccer up until high school at which time he chose to become a “band nerd” and swim competitively. Charly is currently a senior Spanish major at the University of Oklahoma on a Pre-Medicine track with his eyes set on one day becoming a pediatric surgeon and make a lasting impact on children and families within his community! He prefers to spend his free time outside, painting, volunteering at the Children’s Hospital and spending time with friends and family! “I chose to coach with Soccer Shots because I would like to be a role model for the younger generation and show children how fun it can be to play soccer, while teaching them valuable life skills.”

Jessica first began playing soccer at the age three while watching her brother play in Hilliard, Ohio. Once moving to Montgomery, Illinois, she was able to play on a recreational team through a program in the town. At age seven, Jessica began playing with the a soccer club where she started her competitive career. With the Los Tigres Blancos, an all boys soccer team, she became one of the top goalies in the league. Later in life, after moving to Kansas, Jessica accepted a position on the Allen Community College Women’s Soccer Team where she was ranked in the top 5 in the nation and received multiple conference, region, and national honors as well as studied Secondary Mathematics Education. She then transferred to Randall University in Moore, OK, where she received regional and national recognition for her abilities on the defensive line. She graduated in 2019 with a degree in Mathematics Education. She has many years of experience coaching children of all ages in camp, team, and private sessions as well as playing her favorite sport. Her favorite part of working for Soccer Shots is getting to see the look of excitement on her soccer friends faces when they are able to complete the skill they had struggled with before. Practice makes perfect!
