Mel graduated from Mid-America University with a BS in psychology where she played soccer and collected many conference, regional and national accolades. She has many years of experience coaching competitive and academy soccer and holds several national coaching licenses. Mel loves that Soccer Shots curriculum is aligned with early childhood guidelines and the impact the Soccer Shots coaching staff is able to make in the community!
Director of Operations
Blake first began playing soccer at the age of seven in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan. She continued playing competitive soccer on the defensive line for 10 years. After graduating high school she went on to study psychology at Oakland Community College and Oklahoma State – OKC. She has many years of experience working in youth programs and has a passion for investing in her community. Her favorite part of working for Soccer Shots is getting to see the positive impact the coaches and the curriculum have on children and their families.
Full-Time Coach/Admin Assistant
Coach MaKayla joins Soccer Shots from Houston, TX where she attended Texas Southern University. At TSU she played soccer while earning a Bachelors in Health Studies and a Masters in Kinesiology. MaKayla was the team captain, earned many awards in the SWAC conference, and coached as the graduate assistant. She has coached many soccer camps and enjoys being able to give back and impact the youth through soccer.
Originally from Senegal, Africa. Coach Mouhamadou “Mo” attended State University New York Canton, where he played soccer for two years, receiving multiple accolades such as player of the week, player’s choice of the year, coaches player of the year, and all American first team. He transferred to Mid-America Christian University to play two more years of soccer. He also received national accolades and conference title. He has four years of experience working with children in youth camps. A passion of his is working with youth of all ages, he loves bringing positive energy to the littles having fun! He loves that Soccer Shots not only teaches skills to youth but also strong values they can use in the future such as respect and sportsmanship.
Coach Brooke has been playing soccer since she was the age of four in Oklahoma and in Wisconsin. She is currently a student studying criminal justice at the University of Central Oklahoma. Brooke loves coaching because she’s able to make children smile just as much as she did as a kid playing soccer.
Jacqui was born in the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi. She first learned how to play soccer or “football” in kindergarten. Jacqui is passionate about sports and that’s why the Soccer Shots curriculum impresses her with its goal of teaching young players. Jacqui has also been a swim coach for over 15 years both in Kenya and Oklahoma and holds a level 5 certification from the American swimming coaches association.
Helen is a Biology major at Southern Nazarene University. She is studying to become a Physician Assistant that works in pediatrics. Soccer Shots combines two of Helen’s greatest passions, soccer and working with children. Her passion for soccer started when she played high school varsity soccer for two years. Since then she has played intramural soccer and regularly plays soccer to relax. She has experience volunteering with children by teaching Sunday School and volunteering as a tutor.
Joseph (aka Coach Flash) is from Stockton-On-Tees, England where he started playing soccer at age 5. At age 13, he began coaching at soccer clubs and camps. He moved to OKC in August 2016 where he spent four years playing at MACU, winning the SAC in 2018 and the NCCAA national championship in 2019. He loves coaching at all levels and ages. Flash is very passionate about giving back to the game as it has brought him so far in life!
Coach Kilie is from Piedmont, OK and has played soccer for 12 years. Her hobbies are crafting and spending time with friends. She attended the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Coach Kilie loves being a Soccer Shots coach because each day she gets to be around so many amazing kids who put a smile on her face. She hopes to bring joy to each child she coaches.
Madison is a Biology Major at the University of Oklahoma, where she also played soccer on the OU Women’s Soccer team for 3 years. Madison is working to go on to medical school and eventually become a pediatric surgeon. Soccer shots allows Madison to work closely with two of her greatest passions, soccer and children. Being able to be a role model and have fun with kids is important to Madison, just as her coaches did for her growing up!
Coach Jami is thrilled to be on her first year at Soccer Shots. She looks forward to incorporating her 6 years of experience working closely with children into a wellness driven atmosphere. She attended OCCC as a psychology major and graduated from Mustang High Scool.
