Coach Joel

Executive Director & Coach

Background: Joel wants Soccer Shots to be a catalyst for the development of children’s character, motor, social and soccer skills. He is really passionate about ensuring every child who joins us has a really positive, engaging experience.

Credentials: BA in Religious Studies, Masters in Business, CPR/First Aid Certified, F license, US Grassroots, Mandatory Reporter.

Coach Allison

Director of Coaching

Background: Allison loves working with kids and in sports! Since high school, she has been teaching preschool and coaching kids under 8 in soccer, basketball and baseball. Allison received her K-8 Teaching Credentials from Cal State Long Beach. She also loves to travel and has been to amazing places all over the world!

Trisha

Communications Manager

Background: Trisha is a Chicago-Transplant who has lived in Portland since 2009. She completed her degree at Portland State University and has a background of teaching and volunteering with children in both Illinois and Oregon. She enjoys a great book, spending time outdoors, taking her dog, Charlie, on adventures around the Pacific Northwest.

Coach Gina

Background: Coach Gina is a super energetic coach! She loves being silly on the field because she loves to see her soccer players smiling. If she not on the field she’s cuddling with her two dogs that she spoils all the time. She loves to take them on walks or go camping with them. Fun fact she is the queen of throwing darts bullseye every time.

Background:  Coach Mark has come to Soccer Shots from England. He graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a Bachelors in Sports Coaching. Hobbies include travel, socializing with friends and following his beloved premier league

Background: Coach Ash grew up in To a Baja, Puerto Rico with her parents and older brother where she played soccer from a young age all the way up to college. She’s passionate about the game and loves woking with kids. Coach Ash speaks fluent Spanish and English. Some of her hobbies include, but not limited to video games, hiking, camping and eating lots of tacos.

Background: Coach Kelly is an energetic coach from Portland who’s top priority is to celebrate children’s growth physically, emotionally and academically through play. On field, she fosters sportsmanship, technique and encourages players at all levels to try their best! When Kelly isn’t coaching, she likes to hike, read and spend time with her friends and family.

Coach Amy

Background: Coach Amy volunteered in child development programs in high school and was a preschool teacher for two years. She loves working with kids and is interested in combining it with her dream of becoming  marine biologist. Amy grew up playing soccer recreationally and later transitioned to track and field. She hopes to make soccer an amazing experience for everyone.

Background: Daniel moved to the US from Venezuela three years ago, where he played semi-professional soccer. He continues to love the game and plays recreationally. Daniel loves that Soccer Shots is able to combine his love of kids with his love of the game. His patient, easy-going side complements his fun-loving, playful side – on the pitch and in life! On the weekends you can find him reporting stats for the Timber, Thorns and some other local teams.

Background: Coach Delfino is a Portlander that has a passion for soccer and working with kids.His experience comes from local church and community center activities for the past 5 years. He is currently studying to complete his bachelors in Health Studies and a Medical Assisting certification, to become a Physician Assistant. He loves to eat while watching a Timbers game.

Background: Coach John teaches pre-k at a child development center. John was born and raised in Portland Oregon before living in Eugene to attend U of O (go ducks). In Eugene, he began working in youth sports and started a career working as a pre-k teacher. He started playing soccer, along with other sports, when he was five.

Background: Coach Jons first love was soccer- his second was pizza. He thoroughly enjoys both these things n a regular basis. He speaks German and loves playing guitar and piano in his free time. Although born in Corvallis, he is an avid Oregon Duck fan and if you love classic films, you’re already a friend of Coach Jon.

Coach Tom

Background: Coach Tom moved to Portland from the UK five years ago where he has continued his love affair with the game of soccer. Having played for as long as he can remember, Tom realized he would never play in a World Cup and thus decided he would have to do the next best thing; coach at the World Cup and so began his coaching career at just 16. Tom has coached at many levels and age groups (from U5-U18) and in many countries (including the UK, Singapore, Australia, Spain and the US).
