Martin Eddy Harvey
Head Coach and Program Coordinator
Hello! My name is Martin Eddy Harvey and I was born and raised right here in Pittsburgh. Soccer has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Whether it’s playing, coaching, or just watching- soccer is what I like to spend my time doing. Before joining the Soccer Shots team, I coached students both at the Elementary and High School levels. I’m very excited to coach and have fun with your kids this upcoming season! If you ever have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to talk to me. Thanks!
Head Coach and Program Coordinator
Hello! My name is Billy Finnerty aka Coach Billy. I recently moved to Pittsburgh and have been a physical education teacher for over seven years. I’ve coached soccer and track & field for over ten years. I have a passion for working with kids of all ages, especially in the athletics world. Athletics, especially soccer, have been a part of my life for more than 25 years. I’m very excited for the opportunity to work with your children this upcoming season(s) and learn with them a love of movement, soccer and sportsmanship.
Dale Odim is the Head Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach at Penn State University Greater Allegheny (PSUGA). Prior to joining the PSUGA Soccer program he coached the Ellis High School Girl’s Varsity Soccer team for 4 seasons. Coach Dale’s passion for soccer was developed while growing up as a child in Nigeria, and his coaching career began as a 19-year old during a 1977 summer internship in Rochester, Minnesota. It is there that he left his mark on the Southern MN soccer community. He is a past President of the Rochester Youth Soccer Association (RYSA) and was a club head coach. His Rochester Steamers Boys’ Select Traveling Team won an AAU Junior Olympic Bronze Medal as U-12s and were 3-time State Champions (U-14, U-16, U-17). In 1995, Odim was the Director of Training for RYSA Traveling Teams and in 1996 he received an RYSA Appreciation Award for, “Untiring dedication to the growth of soccer in Southern Minnesota”.
Other Rochester coaching experience includes: Mayo H.S. Boys’ Assistant (1985 – 1989), Mayo H.S. Boys’ Head (1990 – 1993), John Marshall H.S. Girls’ Assistant (1994), Lourdes H.S. Girls’ Head (1996)
In 1998, Odim took a 13-yr hiatus from soccer to refocus on family and career. A career change allowed him to return to soccer in 2011 as Assistant Women’s Coach at Bucks County Community College in the Philadelphia area. That same year, he also coached a U-12 Boys Premier Traveling team in Williamstown, NJ. He relocated to Pittsburgh in 2012 and joined Soccer Shots in 2015.
His coaching licenses include: National Soccer Coaches of America (NSCAA), Advanced National Diploma, Goalkeeper Level 2 Diploma, United States Soccer Federation (USSF), National “C” License
Additionally, he is a licensed WPIAL high school soccer referee.
Coach Matt has been with Soccer Shots since 2011. When he’s not working he can be found volunteering his time as a coach for his community’s youth club, and spending time with his two young boys.
Hello! My name is Coach Pam. I have been with Soccer Shots for 3 years now and have loved every session since. I have been a hockey and soccer mom for the last 21 years and joined Soccer Shots as “something to do” since becoming an empty-nester. Working with your children each week has taught me that coaching is much, much more than “something to do.” Being able to engage and positively impact your children as they just begin to embark on their life journey is not just “something.” …it’s everything.
I have been working with Soccer Shots for more than 2 years and I really enjoy the opportunity to help kids develop their skills while investing in their character.
I have a degree in Elementary Education and have worked with kids in a variety of ways.I enjoy spending time with my family, drinking a good cup of coffee, and catching up on long overdue reading.
Originally from Chichester, West Sussex in England, I’ve played Soccer, or as we say Football, since I could walk. I was fortunate enough to play for two professional teams in England, my position being Goalkeeper. Upon my release from Crawley Town I didn’t want to leave the game, a coach of mine told me I had the knowledge and personality to be a good coach. I then started my journey, gaining licenses and came to America in 2008.
I’ve been fortunate to coach up and down the east coast and arrived in Pittsburgh 2011. I coached Highlands Girls High School from 2012 – 2016, leading the team to schools first every play off win (2015) and a semi final finish in my final season. I’m now Head Coach for Penn State New Kensington Men’s, Director of Goalkeeping and a college prep phase coach for Hotspurs as well as a coach for PA West ODP.
I’ve been with Soccer Shots since 2014 and love it. It’s great seeing the kids enjoying the game and I hope the love I have for the game shows. It’s awesome giving the kids the foundations of this beautiful game.
I graduated from Carlow University with a Master’s in Early Childhood Education. I’m Currently pursuing my MBA at Carlow University. I have worked as a Pre-K Counts teacher, Head Start teacher, and Kindergarten Teacher. However, in 2018 I realized I needed a change and now work in Advertising Sales…and still get to work with Soccer Shots.
I have worked with Soccer Shots since 2010 and obviously love it. I love meeting the families and watching the smiles and looks of confidence and determination that I see in my little athletes.
Lastly, I enjoy being a husband to my wife Stacy and my two children Brooke (15) and Ollie (13). The family wouldn’t be complete without Alex the Border Collie and Cookie the cat.
