Coach Matt was born in Derby, England and moved over to Florida at 9 years old, he played Club soccer in Lady Lake and St.Petersburg, went to Admiral Farragut Academy High School played all 4 years of high school soccer. He got into coaching at 23 years and has several coaching certificates and are as follows: USSF (US Soccer Federation) D license; TOPsoccer certificate; IOC (International Olympic Committee) certified coach. He is experienced in 5 years of developmental/competitive/academy coaching at Clermont FC. He also attends Real Life Church every weekend. He enjoys coaching and teaching children the many benefits this sport has to offer and hopes to make a lasting impact in the community.
Coach Luis is originally from New York, and now calls Orlando his home. His soccer experience includes playing for Brentwood high school and the Central Florida Soccer League. Coach Luis has trained kids 4-16 for different youth programs in Florida! Coach Luis first fell in love with soccer when he was 7 years old, and he is most looking forward to spreading his love for soccer and having a positive impact on kids.
“Can everyone say HI coach Jude!!!” in your best jersey accent?? Coach Jude is originally from just about EVERYWHERE in New Jersey that you can think of! About 7 years ago, she and her family decided to make their way down to Florida! She’s been involved in sports and activities in her life such as basketball, and soccer. Theater, volunteer work and being an assistant coach for several years has also been a big passion. As child, it was difficult moving around so much. It was scary trying to go fit in, but sports gave her that extra boost of confidence she needed! Coach Jude found soccer shots in search of something positive! This program helps children, and even her as a coach to build confidence, a healthy relationship with yourself, and meet new goals! “The word of the day is INTEGRITY!” Because after all, this is what it’s all about!
Coach Sergio was born in Bogotá, Colombia and has been playing soccer both recreationally and competitively for as long as he can remember. Growing up in the bustling city, he would play anywhere he could find. He was overjoyed to discover the large, lush fields suburban Orlando had to offer when he moved to the U.S. at the age of seven. Sergio’s 5+ years of experience working as an entertainer and photographer has harnessed his joy of working alongside children. He cannot stress enough how rewarding it is every day not only to teach his favorite sport, but to also help kids grow and have an actively positive impact on the community.
Coach Zoe is originally from Puerto Rico, and moved over to Florida a year ago. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and minor certification in Physical Education from University of Puerto Rico in Arecibo. She’s currently a first-grade teacher in OCPS and loves been surrounded by kids. She’s been involved in sports and activities such as softball, volleyball, dance and soccer. Coach Zoe got her first job as a soccer coach as part of an after-school program and fell in love with it. She truly believes that throughout sport we can teach many principles and values and impact kid’s lives in a positive way. She feels grateful for being part of Soccer Shots and to have the opportunity to motivate and inspire kids in each lesson.
Coach Hope was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida but ventured off to Orlando, Florida to play college soccer. She now calls Orlando home where she has created new friendships, pursued a college degree, and joined Soccer Shots. She has received her Bachelors of Applied Science in Business Management and Organizational Leadership at the end of July 2020. She has been an active soccer player since the age of 5 when her parents enrolled her in the local soccer club. She has had the opportunity to coach children from the age of 10-15 and continues her coaching passion with Soccer Shots. She is excited to coach for a program that is dedicated to instilling lifelong characteristics into children while playing the best sport, soccer.
Coach Justin, born and raised in Orlando, grew up in a large Puerto Rican family where soccer is everything. Some of his earliest memories involve large family gatherings and playing soccer all day long. Having spent almost a decade as an actor for Disney’s live entertainment he has traveled from Orlando to LA to Shanghai and everything in between performing for children and families of all kinds. Coach Justin is excited to bring his creative energy to every lesson so that every session on Soccer Island is fun and inspirational.
Coach Ayanna, better known as Coach Ay, was born in New York City but grew up in the Poconos of Pennsylvania. She moved to Florida when she was 18 and currently studies elementary education at the University of Central Florida. Coach Ay currently wears a few hats. She works as a substitute teacher working mostly in the St. Cloud elementary schools. Along with being a substitute, she is also a certified yoga and prenatal yoga teacher! She’s always had a passion for staying active, and has fond memories of playing soccer, basketball, and kickball at her local community center every summer in her hometown. Her passion for staying active, practicing mindfulness, and educating children is what drew her to coaching with Soccer Shots. Be prepared for your kids to go home learning soccer skills and yoga poses!
