Trey Alexander, Owner
Trey has always loved soccer and has been involved in the game since he was 4. After high school, Trey played for Western Kentucky University, where he was voted all-conference and team MVP his senior year. After graduating, Trey began his professional soccer career playing for multiple teams including the Richmond Kickers and the Wilmington Hammerheads. Trey is also a Registered Nurse with additional degrees in psychology and history. Trey is looking forward to encouraging and helping children grow to be successful and passionate individuals through Soccer Shots and the game of soccer.
Chris Curfman, Executive Director
Chris has been playing soccer almost as long as he’s been walking! He has competed in soccer tournaments all over the world, and has managed to score goals in four different countries. After an injury during his freshman year at NC State ended his playing career, Chris turned to coaching to continue his love for the game. He has been a youth soccer coach for over 8 years, spending time as a regional director and program coordinator for North Carolina FC Youth, prior to coming to Soccer Shots. Chris loves the opportunity to spend his time on Soccer Island, sharing his passion for soccer with all of his Friends!
Domenic Finelli, Director of Coaching
Coach Domenic was raised in Cary, and played soccer for Cardinal Gibbons High School, CASL, and our North Carolina ODP teams. He graduated from the College of Charleston May 2017 with a degree in Business and a Concentration in Marketing. Coach Domenic studied abroad in Europe and worked with Nottingham Forest Football Club while traveling to many different countries! In his free time, he loves to watch soccer matches, and Chelsea is his favorite soccer Club!
Matthew Campbell, Director of Partner Services
Coach Matthew was born and raised in Troutman, NC. He started playing soccer at the age of 5 and played intramural soccer at NCSU. Coach Matthew graduated from NC State (The Best College) with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and a minor in Coaching Education. In his spare time, he can be found hanging out with friends or spending time outdoors with his dog Johnny Cash.
Dean Morgan, Administrative Coordinator
Dean is all the way from Dublin, Ireland and has played soccer all his life. He is a graduate from IT Carlow (Ireland) with a Bachelors Degree in Sports Management and Coaching. He loves coaching as much as possible and holds a UEFA B license. When he is away from Soccer Island he loves to travel, listen to music and meet new people. Dean loves helping people and is very outgoing, he is always a phone call or email away for any questions or concerns!
Melissa Mosby, Coaching Coordinator – Durham
Coach Melissa was raised in Charlotte, NC and grew up playing soccer. She has always loved the sport and played it recreationally through college at UNC Chapel Hill. Coach Melissa lived abroad in Kenya for a couple years and unintentionally discovered her love for coaching soccer there! Coach Melissa is also a personal trainer; and in her free time, she enjoys reading, working out, playing team sports, and going on adventures with friends.
Kyle Lavender, Coaching Coordinator – Wake
Coach Kyle was born and raised in Apex, North Carolina. He started playing soccer at the age of 5 and never stopped. He attended Panther Creek High School and played soccer in college at the University of Mount Olive. When he’s not involved with soccer Kyle enjoys other sports like hockey, basketball, and football or playing with one of his three dogs.
Caine Junginger, Marketing Coordinator
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Coach Caine is our resident musician. He plays multiple instruments – guitar, drums and the trumpet to name a few, and was also a college football kicker. Caine loves taking trips to the mountains, Mexican and Italian food and his dog, Bella. Oh, and he also loves coaching your children!

The History of Soccer Shots
Our founding partners, Jeremy Sorzano and Jason Webb, were soccer teammates both in college and professionally. They formed Soccer Shots® in 1997 after recognizing a lack of quality soccer programs for children under age 8. They shared an entrepreneurial spirit, a deep love of soccer, and a passion to inspire children to live fit and healthy lives.
The success of Soccer Shots in Charlotte, NC and Harrisburg, PA, where Sorzano and Webb first launched their businesses, led to several of their friends and former teammates wanting to get involved. In 2005, Soccer Shots began franchising and opened its first four franchises in OH, DE, FL, and PA. The business opportunity began to attract more soccer entrepreneurs, and Soccer Shots has enjoyed growing around the country and into Canada.
In May of 2009, Justin Bredeman, another former college soccer teammate, became the third Soccer Shots partner. Justin brought with him eight years of experience from Auntie Anne’s, Inc., a pretzel franchising company, where he led a team that supported nearly 800 franchise units. His deep understanding of the franchise business model also comes from the knowledge gained from his five years of owning and running a Soccer Shots business of his own.
From its humble beginnings, Soccer Shots has grown beyond Jeremy and Jason’s biggest dreams, with over 200 territories across 37 states and Canada. There were over 440,000 enrollments into Soccer Shots programming in 2018.
The business is consistently recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as the #1 Children’s Fitness Franchise in the U.S. And today, Soccer Shots is positioned as the best-in-class children’s soccer program with a focus on character development.
