Originally from Kenmore, NY Coach Jacob began coaching with Soccer Shots Rochester in the Fall of 2015. He came to us with 2 years’ experience coaching for Soccer Shots Buffalo. He is currently a student at SUNY Brockport where he majors in athletic training. In addition to his studies Jacob plays for the football team. His favorite soccer shot game is the pirate/ treasure game. He enjoys staying active and plays in area recreational soccer leagues.
Coach Lizzy started coaching with Soccer Shots in the summer of 2015. A Churchville native, she graduated high school from Churchville-Chili and college from SUNY Fredonia. She played soccer for 11 years as a defender and goalkeeper. She also participated in volleyball, tennis, and was a member of the swimming and diving team. She loves coaching children and watching their soccer skills progress.
Coach Mike started coaching for Soccer Shots in the Spring of 2016. Mike has been playing soccer in Western New York for over 25 years and there’s no sign of soccer fading from his life anytime soon! After high school, he played for the Men’s Club Soccer team at the University at Buffalo, where he received a B.S. in Environmental Studies and where he now teaches while finishing his Ph.D. in Geography. Mike has spent time working with youth of a variety ages through a science partnership between UB and Buffalo Public Schools. He now really enjoys being able to work with kids on the soccer field, too! Mike has always understood the value of good mentors in all aspects of life, and that is the role he hopes to fill as a Soccer Shots coach.
Coach Rachel began coaching with Soccer Shots in the Summer of 2016. Rachel began playing soccer at a young age until she was 15. She then began her first job as a swim instructor for children 6 months- adults. Rachel has an Associates degree in liberal arts and is currently pursuing a Bachelors degree at Nazareth College for inclusive early childhood/childhood education. Rachel loves coaching for Soccer Shots and being a positive role model for children.
DIRECTOR OF COACHING
James has played soccer at the premier, travel, and high school level starting from the age of six, and now enjoys playing recreationally. After graduating high school, James pursued a year of service through Rochester Americorps in the field of youth development where he discovered his passion for coaching. He has been working with youth for the past six years in various capacities. His experience includes coaching soccer for youth teams in urban neighborhoods as part of Flower City Soccer League, YOU ROChester, and modified soccer for the Rochester City School District. James also maintains his NYSED coaching license and USSF “E” level license in order to continue to see youth learn, develop new skills, and have fun around the game of soccer. As Director of Coaching, James is responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating coaches.
