Coach Alexis has been playing soccer for over 20 years! She has played competitively for 9 years through club, high school and college. Her favorite position is sweeper! She still plays soccer recreationally, and also enjoys playing basketball as well. Coach Alexis has several years experience coaching small children, including raising two of her own! She loves seeing how children develop and grow!

Coach Alyssa started playing soccer when she was 4 years old in Forney, Texas. She played recreationally as a child all the way to being the starting goalie for St. Mary’s all 4 years of college. When not playing soccer, she enjoys playing volleyball and basketball. Coach Alyssa has several years experience coaching youth soccer and also volunteering with the children’s groups at her church. She loves to watch how children build relationships through sports.
Fun Fact: Coach Alyssa played soccer in England and Scotland when she was in the 7th grade!
Coach Amber has been playing soccer for over 16 years! She started playing soccer at the young age of 4 years old, then continued playing for her high school and at San Antonio College. Even as an adult, Coach Amber continues to play indoor soccer with some of her former teammates! She loves to teach youth sports including both soccer and swim lessons, and enjoys seeing children have fun and build confidence.
Fun Fact: Coach Amber loves to go camping!
Coach Ashley started playing soccer at the age of four year’s old and has loved it ever since! She played for an independent club team where she won the Texas state tournament two years in a row. She started playing with the Classics Elite Soccer Academy until she was 18, along with Varsity Soccer at Churchhill High School where she also made state playoffs! Coach Ashley still plays pick up games and goes to the gym at least 6 times a week! Coach Ashley has tons of experience with kids. She has worked at kids R Kids Learning Academy for the past 3 years. Her favorite part about coaching little kids is to see the progress they make and the smiles on their faces when they achieve their goals!
Fun Fact: Coach Ashley always does a dance whenever she’s excited about anything!
|Originally from Nebraska, Coach Bianca, “Bee”, started playing soccer in high school. She has played off and on in various recreational leagues over the years and really enjoys staying fit and healthy through proper diet and exercise. She has worked with a variety of different youth programs in both educational and sports settings!
Fun Fact: Coach Bianca enters in dance competitions through the World of Dance!
Coach Cara’s love for children brought her into the Soccer Shots team. She brings so much confidence and originality to her sessions. Coach Cara started playing soccer when she was 5 years old and continued until college where she played on numerous Club teams. Her favorite positions are sweeper and mid field. She currently stays active by participating in obstacle runs. She not only coaches with Soccer Shots, but also other organizations around the San Antonio area. Her favorite part of coaching children is watching them master new skills every week.
Fun Fact: She loves trying new food and is the first woman in her family to graduate from college!
A San Antonio native, Coach Cesar has been playing soccer for over 20 years! He played on the varsity team in high school all 4 years, acting as captain his junior and senior years. Now in college, he continues to play on Sundays, and also enjoys running or playing basketball and football. Coach Cesar has been mentor for elementary ages students, and loves setting up games for them to learn and play!
Fun Fact: Once Coach Cesar graduates from UTSA he aspires to be a math teacher!
Coach Dana comes to Soccer Shots with three years experience coaching youth sports. He loves watching his players improve throughout the season and from year to year. He grew up in South Texas and is thrilled to be a part of the San Antonio community.
Fun Fact: Coach Dana speaks fluent Spanish and is an expert on coral fish tanks.
Coach Daniel has played soccer since he was 4 years old. When he’s not playing soccer, Coach Daniel enjoys crossfit, basketball and exercising. He worked with kids at a daycare for two years and loves having the opportunity to teach kids something new!
Fun Fact: Coach Daniel has 7 siblings and is a thrill junkie.
Coach David H.
Coach David fell in love with soccer when he started playing in high school. His love for the game turned into a love for coaching. He has now been a soccer coach for 24 years, for teams such as CYO, YMCA, Dragons Soccer Club, ACYSO and Alamo Soccer club. Coach David is one of Soccer Shots’ veteran coaches and is a member of NSCAA.
Fun Fact: Coach David holds a USSF E Certificate, and a Goal Keeper level 1 and level 2 certificate from STYSA.
Originally from Laredo, TX, Coach Diana has been playing soccer for almost 15 years! She started playing midfielder and forward for her high-school, and continued on to play recreationally here in San Antonio. When she is not playing soccer, she loves to stay fit with other cardio and weightlifting exercises and also loves to listen to music. Coach Diana has been working with children for over 4 years, and loves the goofiness they bring during new activities!
Fun Fact: Coach Diana is really good at math!
Coach Dylan comes from a long line of soccer players- he was practically born kicking a soccer ball! Even sitting on the sidelines as a child, he knew that he wanted to become a part of the world’s most-loved sport. He lead his hometown soccer team to victory and became a leader to his peers. He embodies a true Soccer Shots coach with his dedication to excellence and perseverance to not only achieve his goals, but to help others achieve theirs. He loves the sense of fulfillment that he gets when he sees children overcome their fears and become a part of a team.
Fun Fact: Coach Dylan leads a weekend soccer program for children in his neighborhood.
Coach Elias grew up playing soccer in Texas. Although he is not currently on a soccer team, he competes with the UTSA Quidditch team. The excitement and energy of young players motivates him in daily activities and he is thrilled to be coaching in the Soccer Shots community.
Fun Fact: Although Coach Elias plays Quidditch, he has never read the Harry Potter books.
As a long-time Soccer Shots coach, Coach Emily comes to us with over 11 years of soccer playing experience! She grew up playing club soccer on various teams in Kansas, Virginia and Germany! She played all four years of high school starting on varsity, and played one year of college as a starter as well. Coach Emily loves being around kids, and loves seeing how excited they are to learn new things!
Fun Fact: Coach Emily comes from a military family, and lived in Germany most of her life!
A San Antonio native, Coach Erica has been playing soccer for over 13 years! She played club soccer through most of her youth, and continues to play recreational soccer occasionally with friends. Coach Erica also has several years of experience coaching her neighborhood swim team, and especially loves being able to make a positive impact on today’s youth and being a positive role model.
Fun Fact: Coach Erica has a twin brother!
Originally from Brownsville, TX, Coach “Beto” has been playing soccer for over 18 years! He started playing when he was only 3 years old, and continued on to play for Thunders United as a teenager where he won the national title two years in a row! In college, he played two years for UT-Brownsville, and now plays on the UTSA club team. When he is not playing soccer he is usually studying, swimming or exercising. Coach Beto has coached youth soccer for several years, and his favorite part about coaching is noticing the progress and the happiness in each child.
Fun Fact: Coach Beto is studying to be an engineer!
Coach Jorge has been playing all over the world since he was 9 years old! Growing up in Montigo, Panama, he has traveled the world playing in international soccer clubs and even played professional soccer for 3 years! He still plays soccer recreationally every Sunday and plans to continue being a soccer rock-star for the rest of his life! Coach Jorge has extensive childcare experience; he has worked at various kids soccer programs and soccer camps. He’s also provided soccer clinics at multiple academies in Panama. Coach Jorge’s favorite part about coaching soccer?
“Some kids dream about becoming a soccer player, and I can help them reach their goal,” he says.
Fun Fact: Coach Jorge was cut from The Panamanian National Team just days before the international Concacaf tournament. Although he thought about quitting soccer entirely, Coach Jorge kept playing soccer despite his disappointment. He’s a fantastic example of playing for the love of the game despite downfalls!
Coach Jose has been playing soccer since he was just six years old! He began playing goalie during middle school and continued on to play competitively throughout high school. In addition to playing soccer, he occasionally enjoys playing flag football to stay active! Coach Jose also has over four years of experience coaching a variety of sports with the special olympics, including soccer, flag football, and track and field.
Fun Fact: Coach Jose has a dog named Jack that knows how to play soccer!
With kids of his own, Coach Justin understands the benefits of youth sports. Currently finding fitness through Camp Gladiator and basketball, he can’t wait to coach with the Soccer Shots. His joy in coaching comes from teaching the children something new and making a positive impact in kids’ lives.
Fun Fact: Coach Justin has been privileged to live by both the mountains and the beach, but definitely likes the beach more!
Coach Karen started playing soccer at age 5 in sunny San Diego. She played soccer recreationally through high school, and also enjoys playing other sports like tennis, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and biking. She has years of experience working with kids as a PE teacher, Camp Counselor, Recreation Director, and coach. She loves playing with children and seeing their enthusiasm while playing sports!
Fun Fact: Coach Karen has competed in triathlons for over 20 years!
Coach Karina began playing soccer when she was 8 years old for her hometown league. She has played soccer for several leagues both in her hometown of Del Rio, TX and in Mexico. Her favorite part of coaching kids is seeing them accomplish a technique or goal on their own.
Fun Fact: Coach Karina will become a Personal Trainer by the end of summer and her favorite movie is “The Jungle Book”.
Originally from Montana, Coach Katelynn has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old! She continued to play club soccer through high school, and still plays recreationally here in San Antonio. As a former teacher, she loves being able to work with kids and see how much they grow while learning something new. In addition to teaching, Coach Katelynn has also worked as a summer sports camp counselor where she taught a variety of sports to children ages 3-10!
Fun Fact: Coach Katelynn’s favorite hobby is fly fishing!
Coach Katie J.
Coach Katie started playing soccer when she was just 4 years old! She played club soccer in both middle and high school, and continued on to play club in college for the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Although Coach Katie was born in California, she has lived in San Antonio majority of her life, and loves the friendly people and especially the Riverwalk.
Fun Fact: Coach Katie had major back surgery when she was 15, and SOCCER was part of her recovery process!
Coach Katy P.
Coach Katy has been playing soccer for over 17 years! She started playing recreationally whens she was just 4 years old, then continued on to play club soccer through high school. During high school she was recruited by St. Mary’s University, where she now plays as a junior in college. Coach Katy has several years of soccer refereeing experience at a youth level, and even ran soccer camps through St. Mary’s last summer. Although she is a Texas native, she is glad to be in San Antonio for the many fun things to do and great food!
Fun Fact: Coach Katy went to Wrigley Field last summer to watch the Cubs play before they won the world series!
Originally from San Antonio, Coach Kimberly, aka Coach Kimmie, played little league soccer for 3 years when she decided to take a break and focus on dancing! She has been taking ballet lessons ever sense, including competitive dance competitions at both a local and national level. Coach Kimmie also has almost 4 years of experience working with children, and her favorite part is their energy and being able to positive impact their lives!
Fun Fact: Coach Kimmie is one of 11 children!
Coach Martha R. "Lily"
Coach Martha developed her soccer skills through middle school and high school, beginning as a defender and then moving to midfielder. She holds multiple fitness instructor certifications and has led both youth and adult classes. Coach Martha finds energy in the children’s energy and loves being a part of their motivation and skill development.
Fun Fact: Coach Martha smiles so much, that sometimes her cheeks hurt!
Coach Martha T.
Originally from El Paso, Texas, Coach Martha started playing soccer when she was 3 years old! She started playing club soccer at the ripe age of 5 years old and has been playing ever since. She knows plays college for UTSA and enjoys playing midfield. Coach Martha has been coaching children for over a year, and loves how funny and creative they can be!

Coach Daniel "Matt"
Coach Daniel, aka Coach Matt, started playing soccer at age 8 and has been playing ever since. He started out playing recreational then moved on to play club soccer at the age of 12. In high school, he was named 1st team all-district and continued on to play 4 years for the Austin Aztec’s! Coach Matt still enjoys playing recreational soccer and can often be found riding bike trails for fun. His favorite part about working with children is how much energy they can bring to any activity!
Fun Fact: Coach Matt LOVES to be silly!
Coach Megan began playing soccer with her church club team and fell in love with the sport no matter what position she played. A kindergarten teacher, Coach Megan loves to see the creativity children bring to sports and looks forward to teaching them something new.
Fun Fact: Coach Megan has a rock collection that includes rocks from every state she has visited.
Coach Mikaela has played soccer for over 10 years. Currently on a break from soccer, Coach Mikaela is active on the UTSA Club Quidditch team. She can’t wait to pass on her love of sports and make a positive impact on her players.
Fun Fact: Coach Mikaela was born in Singapore and owns two dogs and a cat!
|Originally from Pharr, TX, Coach Omar has been playing soccer for over 17 years! In middle school he enjoyed playing defender, and continued on to play both defense and right forward through high school. Now he enjoys playing recreational soccer with friends and plays tennis 3-4 times a week! Coach Omar comes to Soccer Shots with over 6 years of coaching experience for both soccer and tennis. His favorite part of working with children is seeing them have fun as they learn new skills!
Fun Fact: Coach Omar has taken many of his students to competitive tennis tournament across Texas and has qualified several of them to the national level!
From San Antonio, Coach Richard has been playing and loving soccer since he was 4 years old! It’s safe to say that he has a ton of soccer experience under his belt! Until high school, he played club soccer, then All State at San Antonio Christian High School. He currently plays for the UTSA club team and is currently the San Antonio Christian High School Men’s Head Coach! He has coached both track and soccer and many elementary aged children in soccer camps. He brings so much high-energy to his sessions and never slows down (he runs cross country!).
Fun Fact: He runs Half Marathons and loves the color blue!
Originally from Texas City, Texas, Coach Santiago starting playing soccer when he was 5 years old. He played club soccer all the way to high school, where he was a two year letterman, and captain of the team his senior year. After high school, Coach Santiago went into the military and played soccer on the All-Marine team. He now continues to play soccer for Texas State’s club soccer team. He also plays on a recreational team and volunteers in San Marcos with youth soccer teams. He loves working with children and seeing them develop while having fun.
Fun Fact: Coach Santiago lived in Japan for 2 years!
Coach Theresa has been playing soccer since high school. She’s played a variety of positions but her favorite is defense. In her free time, Coach Theresa enjoys running and swimming. Her favorite part about little kids is watching them light up when they’ve achieved a goal.
Fun Fact: Coach Theresa can touch her nose with her tongue and lick her elbow.
A San Antonio native, Coach Tony has been coaching soccer for over 7 years. He has not only coached soccer, but also basketball, golf and flag football. In his spare time, he enjoys playing recreational soccer, basketball, or playing a round of golf. His favorite part about coaching children is helping them become better people through sports!
Fun Fact: Coach Tony is a HUGE Spurs fan!
A San Antonio native, Coach Tori has played soccer for over 15 years! She played competitively growing up, through high school and now plays for college. She even scored the game winning goal to win district in high school! Coach Tori has worked with children in various settings including mission trips and youth sports. She loves seeing how eager they are to learn new things!
Fun Fact: Coach Tori has been to 24 countries!
