Justin started out as a coach with Soccer Shots in 2017. He loves making a difference in the lives of children and their families, which is what drove him to take on a larger leadership role with Soccer Shots. He loves soccer, but also firmly believes in Soccer Shots’ mission to make a positive impact on every child we coach.
Integrator - San Antonio & Austin
Laura’s love of soccer ignited in Virginia during middle and high school. She captained her school teams five of six years while playing forward or outside defender before settling in at center midfielder. She continued on to play intramural in college and still plays weekly in the Austin Women’s Soccer League.
Called to impact youth, Coach Laura earned degrees from the University of Virginia and North Carolina Central University. She then taught kindergarten through fifth grades in North Carolina and Texas. She also brings experience as a curriculum developer and educational consultant. She began coaching soccer and swimming during college and has coached Austin youth for over ten years. She enjoys mentoring fellow coaches and thrives through the smiles shared with children as they build confidence, friendships and fun!
Director of Coaching
Coach Lake has over twenty years of soccer experience, through playing club and high school as a striker and center back. He then began sharing his passion for the sport by coaching over 5 years for a club team that even won state! His favorite part of working with children is the questions they ask as they see the world differently. Growing up in Round Rock, he came to San Antonio to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio to pursue a business degree. He loves the city because of the awesome hiking trails in the area. Apart from hiking, Lake also likes to spend his time simply enjoying the company of his friends.
Fun Fact: Coach Lake enjoys building furniture!
Coach Sarah started playing soccer at the age of 5. She enjoyed playing both indoor and outdoor, recreationally and competitively, until college. She continued to play with her sorority intramural team while achieving her B.S. of Kinesiology at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her favorite part about working at Soccer Shots is communicating with parents about the awesome accomplishments that their kiddo has done in our program. She loves seeing firsthand the impact we are making for the children of San Antonio!
Fun Fact: Coach Sarah’s favorite animal is a sloth; she got to meet and hold one for her 23rd birthday!
Partner Services Coordinator
Adam started playing soccer at the age of 7 and has now over 20 years of playing experience. He enjoyed the sport through playing club, select, high school, college intramural, and a men’s open league. Now he enjoys spending his spare time kicking the ball with his little ones in the backyard and sharing his passion for the sport with them! He also shared his love for soccer through coaching at camps and clinics for children in elementary through high school. Adam grew up in New York and made his way to Texas with his family, where he now loves the warm weather, live music and barbecue. He is extremely family oriented and truly believes that his family makes him a better person each day.
Arianne has been playing soccer for over 18 years! Hailing from the DFW area, she started playing for FC Dallas Youth, then IM in college, and in Paris, France when she studied abroad. Her favorite position is forward because she loves the challenge of scoring GOALS! Arianne also loves tennis, paddle boarding, and volunteering! She has lots of experience with children, having worked as a camp counselor, childcare supervisor, and AmeriCorps literacy tutor for AISD. Her favorite part about working with kids is their unfailing ability to find fun and joy in anything!
Fun Fact: Coach Arianne checked off an item on her bucket list in 2015 by attending a European soccer match between PSG and St. Etienne. So intense!!
Coach Janet joins the Soccer Shots team with countless years of early childhood service. Janet coached her son’s team for 2 years and loves children’s ability to have fun and laugh. A child’s uncontrollable laughter is music to Janet’s ears. Growing up in Austin, Janet loves anything and everything associated with the outdoors: camping, biking, scuba diving, and so much more. When Coach Janet isn’t in the kitchen trying new recipes, she is out front playing soccer with her son on their turf front lawn!
Fun Fact: Coach Janet loves all animals and volunteers at Austin Pets Alive every week!
Program Specialist & Elite Coach
Coach Ashley started playing soccer at the age of four year’s old and continued until high school, where they made the state playoffs. Her favorite part about coaching little kids is to see the progress they make and the smiles on their faces when they achieve their goals! Outside of playing soccer and staying active in the gym, she is a movie fanatic, especially horror and comedy films.
Fun Fact: Coach Ashley loves to spend time with her dogs and going on hikes.
Program Specialist & Elite Coach
Coach Jorge has been playing all over the world since he was 9 years old! Growing up in Montigo, Panama, he has traveled the world playing in international soccer clubs and even played professional soccer for 3 years! He still plays soccer recreationally every Sunday and plans to continue being a soccer rock-star for the rest of his life! Coach Jorge has extensive childcare experience; he has worked at various kids soccer programs and soccer camps. He’s also provided soccer clinics at multiple academies in Panama. Coach Jorge’s favorite part about coaching soccer?
“Some kids dream about becoming a soccer player, and I can help them reach their goal,” he says.
Fun Fact: Coach Jorge was cut from The Panamanian National Team just days before the international Concacaf tournament. Although he thought about quitting soccer entirely, Coach Jorge kept playing soccer despite his disappointment. He’s a fantastic example of playing for the love of the game despite downfalls!
Coach Gaby began playing soccer at age 8 and hasn’t stopped ever since! Growing up in New Braunfels, she was a 4 year letterman in high school as well as played for Texans and Classic Elite soccer club. She continued to play for Our Lady of the Laky University as goalie, earning her B.S. in Kinesiology and played 3 seasons in the WPSL, a semi pro league. While Gaby no longer plays competitively, she loves to stay active through hiking, running, and working out in the gym. Gaby also loves to go thrifting and find rare, vintage items when she is not in the gym. She enjoys living in San Antonio as it is home to her favorite NBA team, the Spurs, as well as the Hispanic heritage and beautiful culture that our city has to offer. She has been coaching children for over 5 years and says her favorite part is “being able to have fun with them while building confidence”.
Fun Fact: Coach Gaby collects all things Toy Story! It is her favorite movie of all time.
Coach Daniel, aka Coach Matt, started playing soccer at age 8 and has been playing ever since. He started out playing recreational then moved on to play club soccer at the age of 12. In high school, he was named 1st team all-district and continued on to play professionally for 4 years for the Austin Aztex! Coach Matt still enjoys playing recreational soccer and can often be found riding bike trails for fun. His favorite part about working with children is how much energy they can bring to any activity!
Fun Fact: Coach Matt LOVES to be silly!
Coach Aaron played soccer for a total of 19 years. He began at the age of 4 on local competitive teams in Corpus Christi and moved on to play for 2 years in high school. He continued to play for the Classics Elite Academy for 1 year, where he was recruited to play at the University of Hardin-Simmons all 4 years of his studies. Aaron continues to stay active through playing soccer and basketball recreationally. He has joined the Soccer Shots team with 2 years of volunteer experience working and training soccer through his university.
Fun Fact: Coach Aaron loves living in San Antonio and the passion the city has for soccer!
Coach Alexis has been playing soccer for over 20 years! She has played competitively for 9 years through club, high school and college. Her favorite position is sweeper! She still plays soccer recreationally, and also enjoys playing basketball as well. Coach Alexis has several years experience coaching small children, including raising two of her own! She loves seeing how children develop and grow!

Coach Allison has played soccer for over 10 years, playing both for her high school and competitively in the Houston area. After moving to San Antonio to attend UTSA, she now continues to play recreationally with her friends, but also loves to stay active through softball and yoga! She not only enjoys playing sports, but is a huge sports fan supporting UT Football and SAFC as her favorite teams. She is passionate about working with children, as she is currently pursuing her degree to become a teacher and has experience working in preschool with children ranging from 3 months to 5 years old. She says the best part about working with kiddos is the “fun energy they bring and their light heartedness they have”, and cannot wait to see that energy on Soccer Island!
Fun Fact: Coach Allison can play 4 instruments AND sing!
Coach Andrew has played soccer recreationally and competitively for over 14 years! He now assists his younger brother weekly to improve his soccer skills and playing in a 6v6 league in his spare time. His favorite part about coaching is the fact that this is the age they begin to fall in love with the sport and has been coaching for over 4 years.
Fun Fact: Coach Andrew absolutely loves Mexican food, and believes San Antonio has some of the best around!
Coach Brad gained soccer experience through playing at a local club in Germany! He enjoyed playing defense positions and dabbling in mid-field occasionally. Growing up all over the world, Brad fell in love with San Antonio after being stationed here in 2013. He loves the plethora of camping and hiking locations, especially Government Canyon and Garner State Park. Brad is currently working towards his degree in Kinesiology, as well as Criminal Justice. Apart from soccer, he loves living an active lifestyle. He enjoys kick boxing, cycling and yoga. Brad is currently a “big brother” volunteer and is so excited to make a positive impact on a younger generation through Soccer Shots.

Coach Catty was born and raised in Austin, TX. She loves the diversity of the city and of course, the live music! She began playing soccer at age 4 and began playing club with the Georgetown Force and Round Rock Dragons as she grew up. She started as a defender and moved to midfielder in high school, falling in love with the position. She nows plays soccer for fun with her friends at her university, UTSA, where she is working towards her degree in Kinesiology. Her favorite part of coaching children is watching them master different skills and seeing their excitement.

Coach David H.
Coach David fell in love with soccer when he started playing in high school. His love for the game turned into a love for coaching. He has now been a soccer coach for 24 years, for teams such as CYO, YMCA, Dragons Soccer Club, ACYSO and Alamo Soccer club. Coach David is one of Soccer Shots’ veteran coaches and is a member of NSCAA.
Fun Fact: Coach David holds a USSF E Certificate, and a Goal Keeper level 1 and level 2 certificate from STYSA.
Coach Eliana grew up in San Antonio, TX and began playing soccer in kindergarten all the way until her freshman year of high school. She loved the sport so much and is excited for her opportunity with Soccer Shots to teach the game she grew up playing! In her spare time, she loves to play recreationally with her friends as well as stay active through running and swimming. She loves to work with children and how infectious their energy is!
Fun Fact: Coach Eliana has been playing piano for 15 years!
Coach Isaac has loved the sport of soccer since the age of 4. He has played every position except for goalie, and even played for a soccer academy at 12 years old. He continues to play today with friends on the weekends, while staying active through swimming and running in his free time. He has joined our team at Soccer Shots with 2 years of coaching experience. He enjoys working with children as he sees the joy that a sport brings them or when they learn something new! Isaac moved from Houston to San Antonio in 2014, and loves the diversity of the city. He is fluent in Spanish and holds a certification from United Soccer Coaches.
Fun Fact: Coach Isaac is an awesome mini golfer!
Coach Jenna has played soccer for over 7 years, playing forward for her select team and recreationally in college. She not only enjoys staying active through soccer – dance, equestrian sports, volleyball, hiking…even quidditch! She has coached soccer, basketball, equestrian sports and is a certified “brain trainer” for adults and children to develop their cognitive skills. She loves working with children for their enthusiasm! Growing up in a small town, she loves all the networking and landscape that San Antonio has to offer and is excited to make an impact on the community through Soccer Shots.
Fun Fact: Coach Jenna is a graphic designer!
Coach Jennifer is born and raised in San Antonio. She is a mom to 2 beautiful children and in their spare time, they love to explore the city. She has multiple years of experience leading and teaching young children. Her favorite part about working with kiddos is seeing them engaged in an activity and developing a sense of pride in learning something new!
Fun Fact: She loves music and to sing!
Coach "R" Jorge
Coach Jorge grew up in Los Angeles, California before moving here to San Antonio! He played soccer for a local club throughout high school, starting out as a defender and moving his way center-midfield and forward. He continues to play now in a Sunday league with his friends. Coach Jorge has worked in sports camps with UIW and after school programs, and is excited to be a part of the Soccer Shots team.
Fun Fact: Coach Jorge has been to 2 World Cups; South Africa and Brazil!
Coach Karen started playing soccer at 5 years old, which developed her love for team sports. As a lefty, she was always happy to play anywhere on the left side of the field to score goals! Soccer isn’t the only sport she loves; she continues to play volleyball, tennis and even has competed in triathlons over 20 years. Her favorite part of being a Soccer Shots coach is the children’s enthusiasm and joyful outlook, which never fails to put a smile on her face. She has been a coach, PE teacher, camp counselor and a Recreation Director throughout her life.
Fun Fact: Coach Karen’s absolutely favorite sport is ultimate frisbee!
Kyle played soccer competitively for almost 10 years on a club team, where he developed a love for the sport. He now coaches and trains kiddos and has been for 5 years! His favorite part is having fun with them and creating an enjoyable atmosphere. He comes from a military family and loves living here in San Antonio.
Fun Fact: Kyle was born and raised in an Army family!
Coach Lynette has joined our Soccer Shots team with multiple years of experience working with children! She is currently a student at the University of Texas at San Antonio studying to achieve her M.A. in Educational Psychology with a concentration in behavioral analysis and intervention. She loves working with children and families because the ability to have a direct, positive impact on their lives! Although she has never played soccer, she loves to stay active through hiking and being outdoors with her partner and puppy. Coach Lynette was born in Houston, TX and has lived in San Antonio for 5 years. Her favorite part about the city is the opportunities for exploring the outdoors just outside of city limits!
Fun Fact: Coach Lynette has a dog named after the soccer player, Mesut Ozil!
Coach Mary has joined the Soccer Shots team with a total of 10 years of soccer experience, along with 3 years of coaching experience through her neighborhood team! She haas played every position, but preferred defense. Mary continues to play for fun while getting together with her friends. Her favorite part of coaching is teaching the kiddos new skills and ensuring they are having fun.
Fun Fact: Mary loves music! She enjoys singing and even plays trumpet and guitar!
Coach Rebecca started playing soccer in Boerne, TX at the age of 4 and continues to play still to this day! She played for Champion and Boerne High School as a defender and midfielder. Rebecca has been coaching children personal lessons for over one year and is so excited to be a part of the Soccer Shots team! Her favorite part of coaching the younger generation is seeing how silly their personalities are and their progression throughout each season.
Fun Fact: Coach Rebecca likes learning how to play musical instruments! Be sure to ask her what she is learning at your next session.
Coach Ruby has loved soccer since she was a little girl; a passion that was shared by her entire family! Her dad was her coach as a child, and then she continued on to play for various club teams and varsity in high school. She continues to play for co-ed club teams along with in the backyard with her son. Her favorite part about coaching children is seeing their faces light up with excitement and instilling confidence.
Fun Fact: Coach Ruby is super silly!
Coach Rylie was born and raised in San Antonio and has been playing soccer for over 10 years! She played through club, high school and is now playing for St. Mary’s University as their center back. She is majoring in finance and risk management and is so happy to continue playing soccer while staying close to family! Rylie has joined the Soccer Shots team with 3 years of coaching experience. Her favorite part of coaching children is the endless fun and that you are always on your toes.
Fun Fact: Coach Rylie has 2 dogs, Derek and Jeter, named after the famous Yankees player!
Coach Ryan started playing soccer at age five and continued playing club in San Antonio with Classics Elite and high school at O’Conner. His favorite positions to play were left defender and sweeper! He continues to play on the weekends for fun with his friends, along with searching for the best food in San Antonio. He has joined the Soccer Shots team with experience coaching his family members’ soccer teams. He loves how focused and determined that children are to succeed, and helping them to achieve their goals.
Fun Fact: Ryan is right handed, but left footed!
Born and raised in Houston, Coach Sofia began playing soccer at age 8 through various clubs, along with 2 years of high school playing as goalie and a defender. She now loves to stay active through rock climbing, swim and dance. Moving to San Antonio, Sofia now attends Trinity University. She says the best part about living in San Antonio is of course…the food! She has joined the Soccer Shots team with 3 years of camp counselor experience and is now a part of management for the summer camp. She also has experience teaching children theater, choir and dance. She is passionate about working with children and helping them pursue activities they love to do!
Fun Fact: Coach Sofia once kayaked 60 miles in 3 days! Wow!
A San Antonio native, Coach Tony has been coaching soccer for over 7 years. He has not only coached soccer, but also basketball, golf and flag football. In his spare time, he enjoys playing recreational soccer, basketball, or playing a round of golf. His favorite part about coaching children is helping them become better people through sports!
Fun Fact: Coach Tony is a HUGE Spurs fan!
Coach Tori started playing soccer at the age of 5 and has been playing for 18 years. She played for her high school team as well as on the FC Dallas Soccer Club, continuing on to play with the Baylor Women’s Club Soccer team. She loved playing both forward and goalie! Tori not only enjoyed soccer, but volleyball, basketball, track and cross country. Her favorite part of working with children is how joyful they are to be around and cannot wait to begin her coaching journey with Soccer Shots!
Fun Fact: Tori has a dog named Marley that loves to run 5K’s with her!
Growing up in Del Rio, Coach Val began playing soccer at the age of 3, and continued to play as a midfielder competitively until the age of 14. She now plays only for fun and spends her time studying to become a certified personal trainer while working to achieve her degree in Kinesiology. Her favorite part of working with children is the ability to learn quickly and the excitement in achieving a new skill in a sport!
