Coach Ashlynne was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where she began playing soccer at age 2 and began competitive soccer on a traveling team at age 7. She continued competitive soccer until her sophomore year of high school, and she played on her high school varsity team for four years, becoming a team captain during her senior year. Ashlynne also played for Wilmington College, a small division three college in Ohio, for one year before transferring to Seattle Pacific University. A lower back injury from high school recurred causing her to end her competitive soccer career. She recently graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a B.S. in Exercise Science and a minor in Health and Fitness Education. Ashlynne currently plans to attend graduate school to pursue a career in teaching elementary school. She has experience working with kids as a babysitter, a nanny, and a soccer camp counselor. Ashlynne enjoys being part of the Soccer Shots team because it combines her passion for soccer and kids.
Coach Jacob was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, but grew up in Redmond, Washington where he moved when he was 7 years old. He has played for Crossfire, Redmond High School, and Washington State University’s club team where he spent some time as a player-coach. At WSU he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Media Production and discovered that he has a passion for visual storytelling. Jacob is also passionate about teaching and plans to get a teaching degree one day. At Soccer Shots, he is excited to combine his passion for storytelling and his experience with coaching and childcare to connect soccer to the community and bring people together. He is a huge fan of Liverpool FC in England and dreams of meeting Ed Sheeran one day.
Coach Lauren grew up in Brownstown, Michigan and played club soccer for the Michigan Hawks. She played 4 years of D1 soccer at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a B.A. in Biological Basis of Behavior. She has always been fascinated with the intersection between the brain and the body and completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Science. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and has worked with middle schoolers, high schoolers, college athletes, and adults. She is an avid fan of the game and loves cheering for Chelsea in the premier league, as well as supporting the NWSL as a Seattle Reign season ticket holder. Working with Soccer Shots allows her to continue to be involved in the sport she loves, while also encouraging kids to be active and confident in themselves. When not studying or seeing clients, Lauren loves hiking with her dog, reading, or catching up on Netflix.
Sophia was born and raised in Issaquah, Washington and has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old. She played for Issaquah High School and was the varsity captain during her senior year, making it to the 4A WIAA state finals. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Physics, where she also played 4 years of varsity soccer and captained the 2016 team, making it to the NCAA DIII Final Four. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering. Sophia has a passion for making an impact in young people’s lives and giving them the confidence to realize their potential – whether it’s to improve their soccer skills or to be a great friend and student.
Josh was born in Bothell, WA, where he has lived his whole life. His older brother, Daniel, is also a Soccer Shots coach! Josh started playing soccer at age five in kids’ programs and on recreational soccer teams. When he reached middle school, he joined the select club NSC, and later played varsity high school soccer at Cedar Park Christian Bothell. He is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Josh is a big fan of freestyle soccer, always wanting to learn new tricks. He enjoys investing time in others, and sees Soccer Shots as a great opportunity to develop soccer and life skills with the youth.
Coach Alyssa grew up in California’s Central Valley, with three years spent living in Moscow, Russia with her family. She played soccer in rec leagues in California and Moscow, eventually becoming an assistant coach in the Modesto Youth Soccer Association. While earning her International Relations degree at UC Davis, she continued to play some intramural soccer and went on to become a volunteer at the San Jose Earthquakes’ home games. Alyssa recently moved to the Seattle area where she is pursuing her master’s degree in Russian Studies at the University of Washington. She has travelled extensively abroad and loves exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband and her dog, Mr. Bultitude. In her spare time, she can be found reading, doing CrossFit, or hiking. Alyssa is excited to be involved in Soccer Shots because she enjoys sharing her love for the beautiful game and hopes to make a positive impact in the lives of the kids she coaches.
Coach Roy was born in Japan and moved near Northfield, Minnesota when he was 2 months old. He started playing soccer when he was four years old and continued playing until his senior year at Northfield High School. As a soccer player, he has been to many soccer camps and tryouts even during the harsh winter seasons of Minnesota. Once he has a children in the future, Roy hopes he can coach their soccer team too. Roy graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science in August 2018 then moved to Seattle to start his adult life. He is working part-time as a software engineer. His other passions are playing the drums, guitar, piano and he wishes he could sing as well.
Allegra is originally from Chappaqua, NY and is currently a senior at the University of Washington majoring in International Studies with a focus on Human Rights, while minoring in Law, Societies and Justice. She has goals to be a Lawyer and work with the underprivileged community. She has played soccer since she was 5 years old and was the varsity captain of her high school soccer team. A fun fact, Allegra can wiggle her ears!
Coach Trent was born in Renton, Washington, and grew up in Tukwila, Washington. He first started playing soccer at 4 years old and has continued to play ever since. He first played organized soccer for his local club Tukwila Skyway Soccer Club before moving on to Pacific Northwest Soccer Club his senior year of high school. He played four years of varsity soccer at Seattle Christian where he was the captain for his junior and senior year. He began attending Northwest University in the fall of 2015 and played four years for the Eagles, captaining them in his senior year. He will be finishing his degree in Business Management this spring. Having played for so long, Trent loves to pass on what he has learned from soccer skills to life lessons to young people coming behind him. For him, Soccer Shots is the perfect combination of both.
Agazi is from Redmond, WA. He plays soccer at Northwest University while studying social media and marketing. He has played club soccer to high school soccer now to college soccer, he loves the sport and wants to be able to teach younger kids how to love it as much as he does. Agazi use to speak 3 different languages.
