Sophia was born and raised in Issaquah, Washington and has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old. She played for Issaquah High School and was the varsity captain during her senior year, making it to the 4A WIAA state finals. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Physics, where she also played 4 years of varsity soccer and captained the 2016 team, making it to the NCAA DIII Final Four. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering. Sophia has a passion for making an impact in young people’s lives and giving them the confidence to realize their potential – whether it’s to improve their soccer skills or to be a great friend and student.
Earl was born and raised in Kalispell, Montana and loves being outdoors whether he is hiking, swimming, or playing soccer. He grew up playing soccer and currently plays soccer for Northwest University in Kirkland where he is enrolled in a five-year master’s program in International Community Development. After he graduates, he hopes to either go overseas or work for a local non-profit. Earl describes himself as a kid at heart and loves being goofy with kids! His favorite restaurant is Din Tai Fung and he supports Liverpool FC.
Coach Sarah LOVES Chipotle! She grew up in Bothell, WA and just finished her first semester of college. She plans on finishing her program online, but in the meantime can’t wait to start coaching. She started playing soccer when she was four and played until high school. Now, she loves to do CrossFit and hopes to one day become a certified coach and do CrossFit with kids. She has three brothers and two sisters. Her brothers Daniel and Josh coached with Soccer Shots in the past!
Coach Cierra currently studies Biology/Physiology at the University of Washington and plans on going to medical school to become a trauma surgeon one day. She loves Samurai’s Japanese Steakhouse and watching New Girl. Cierra has played soccer her entire life and played varsity soccer all four years at her high school. One interesting fact about Cierra is that she is a quadruplet and has three brothers! Cierra is excited to spread the same passion she had for soccer while she was a kid with our soccer friends!
Coach Giovanny LOVES salsa dancing! Born in raised in Mejin, Colombia, Giovanny has played soccer his entire life and hopes to coach at a college level soon. He has been supporting FC Barcelona since he was 11 years old and his favorite player is Lionel Messi. Growing up, he played futsal in Colombia for various clubs, played on a Premiere Development League team in Maine, and for Portland Phoenix’s U-2o squad. After, he played for Taylor University in Indiana for four years. When he isn’t playing soccer or coaching, Giovanny enjoys working out and going out to eat with friends! He hopes that his experience in coaching and desire to continue coaching will help the players he coaches at Soccer Shots to develop a love and passion for the sport.
Coach Dani grew up in Southern California and started playing soccer when she was three years old. She continued playing soccer through college, where she played at Chandler-Gilbert Community College and transferred to Western Oregon University. As a student athlete, she took great pride in working hard and being a leader on and off the field. After she finished her undergraduate degree, she decided to pursue a graduate degree in Speech and Language Pathology. She currently attends the University of Washington studying Medical Speech Pathology. Her future aspirations include working with individuals who have suffered from brain injuries and aiding them in communicating and achieving their goals in spite of their injuries. When she is not studying or coaching, she loves to hike and run with her dog Scout. She also loves traveling and hopes to one day travel to every National Park in the continental United States.
Coach Chelsea was born and raised in Renton, WA. She started playing soccer at 5 years old and has loved it ever since. After high school, she continued her education and soccer career at Bellevue College where she received her AA in General Studies. Coach Chelsea then moved to Iowa to further her education at Waldorf University. There, she played for the Women’s Soccer team and obtained her BA in Psychology, minor in Criminal Justice. Afterwards, she moved back home to teach and coach children!
Emma moved to the Redmond area when she was four years old. Before that, she lived in Portland, Oregon. Emma started playing soccer when she was three years old when her dad started an indoor toddler team and played all the way through high school. Now, she is excited to step into her father’s shoes and be the coach. Emma just finished her first year at the University of Washington and hopes to earn a degree in biology or chemistry. One day, she wants to be a pediatrician! She has always loved working with kids and wants to help them as much as possible. When she isn’t busy working or studying, she likes to work out, be outdoors and spend time with friends. She loves to go hiking, go on long walks with her dog, and enjoy nature in the PNW.
Emily was born in Southern California and moved to Spokane shortly after. She has played soccer since 1st grade and played on the varsity team for four years at her High School. She is currently studying Biology at the University of Washington where she captains the Women’s Rugby Club Team. She loves sports and stays active by working at a CrossFit gym and strength training in her free time. She is excited to spread her love of sports to children and help them find a passion for soccer.
Coach Gabe was born and raised in France and has been playing soccer since he was 5 years old. After graduating high school, he moved to the US and attended Seattle Pacific University. He played on the SPU men’s soccer team and earned a BA in Health and Fitness Education. After graduating, he went back overseas to play semi-professional soccer in England. His most memorable experience playing soccer was when he got to play at Old Trafford, Manchester United’s home field. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Teaching to become an elementary PE teacher.
