Coach Ashlynne was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where she began playing soccer at age 2 and began competitive soccer on a traveling team at age 7. She continued competitive soccer until her sophomore year of high school, and she played on her high school varsity team for four years, becoming a team captain during her senior year. Ashlynne also played for Wilmington College, a small division three college in Ohio, for one year before transferring to Seattle Pacific University. A lower back injury from high school recurred causing her to end her competitive soccer career. She recently graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a B.S. in Exercise Science and a minor in Health and Fitness Education. Ashlynne currently plans to attend graduate school to pursue a career in teaching elementary school. She has experience working with kids as a babysitter, a nanny, and a soccer camp counselor. Ashlynne enjoys being part of the Soccer Shots team because it combines her passion for soccer and kids.
Born and raised in Seattle Washington, Coach Tricia grew up with a passion for soccer. She has played soccer for 12 years, and three of those years she played in high school along with playing on a club team. Coach Tricia has had experience working with kids as an assistant swim teacher. She will be attending Central Washington University this upcoming Fall, planning to major in Law and Justice. A fun fact about Coach Tricia is that she loves extreme sports, having gone zip-lining, white water rafting, snowboarding, and knee-boarding. She hopes to go skydiving and surfing this year, and hopefully bungee jumping, wing-suit flying and paragliding soon! Tricia enjoys working with Soccer Shots because she’s able to help encourage kids to have a passion for soccer, bringing a smile to her face during every session.
Coach Mikala grew up in Kitsap County, WA and started playing soccer when she was around 5 years old. She went on to play in Central Kitsap’s soccer club until her junior year of high school where she then made her high school’s varsity team. After high school, Mikala attended Washington State University and earned a degree in Criminal Justice. While at Washington State, she quickly learned that she missed playing soccer and being a part of a team which then led her to joining a few intramural soccer teams. Mikala grew up babysitting and has worked in two elementary schools since college graduation. She wants to continue working with kids, playing soccer, and become a great coach!
Tyler was born and raised in Woodinville, Washington where he started playing soccer as soon as he could walk. Tyler continued to play throughout his junior high and high school career for Northshore Select Soccer, where he was team captain his last two years. Tyler has continued to play recreational soccer at Western Washington University where he is also pursuing a degree in History-Social Studies; on track to graduate Spring of 2018! Tyler hopes to not only be a teacher but a university-level coach someday. In his free time, Tyler enjoys playing basketball and has been an avid sports fan for almost as long as he can remember. Tyler appreciates the opportunity to work with Soccer Shots because it is a great way for him to be involved in two things he is passionate about; teaching and sports.
Coach Jacob was born in Cincinatti, Ohio, but grew up in Redmond, Washington where he moved when he was 7 years old. He has played for Crossfire, Redmond High School, and Washington State University’s club team where he was spent some time as a player-coach. At WSU he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Media Production and discovered that he has a passion for visual storytelling. Jacob is also passionate about teaching and plans to get a teaching degree one day. At Soccer Shots, he is excited to combine his passion for storytelling and his experience with coaching and childcare to connect soccer to the community and bring people together. He is a huge fan of Liverpool FC in England and dreams of meeting Ed Sheeran one day.
Coach Jasmin spent the first 12 years of her life in Southern California where she played soccer and enjoyed the sunshine. Eventually, she moved to Spokane, WA where she played numerous high school sports including basketball, track & field, and cross country. After high school, she re-located to Portland, OR to attend Concordia University and soon graduated with her B.A. in Exercise and Sports Science. While attending Concordia, she played collegiate soccer, winning Conference Championships and a National Championship. After obtaining her B.A., she decided to make a change and move to the east coast! She traveled to Massachusetts to obtain her M.S. in Athletic Training from Bridgewater State University. During those two years, she had a variety of internships at high schools, colleges, sports rehabilitation clinics, and even at FC Dallas! She still loves playing soccer, loves to travel, and loves dogs!
Coach Rachel J.
Coach Rachel was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She is currently a senior at Interlake High School in Bellevue. Rachel has played soccer throughout middle and high school on her school teams, and hopes to continue playing at the intramural level in college. Rachel loves kids and used to work at a daycare. She has also coached micro-soccer for 3 years with Lake Hills Soccer Club. Working at Soccer Shots will allow her to continue doing what she loves. When she’s not at school, Rachel can be found at the gym, listening to music, or at the dogpark with her dog Lucy!
Coach Leah was born and raised in Bellevue, WA. She is one year away from graduation with a major in Elementary Education from Washington State University. Leah has played soccer ever since she was 5 years old. She began playing premier soccer during middle school and played for HPFC throughout high school. Leah began coaching soccer for preschoolers at the Moscow Parks and Rec department during her time at Washington State University. She has since been involved in clubs and work that revolve around children. Her passion is to make an impact on the youth she meets and to help their love for soccer grow as big as her own. Working at Soccer Shots will only continue to help Leah reach her goal of impacting more kids. When Leah isn’t working you can find her taking her dog Aspen to parks and binge watching shows with her boyfriend.
Coach Lindsay was born and raised in Bothell, Washington, where she started her soccer career at age five in the Northshore Youth Soccer Association. She went on to play competitive club soccer in her middle school and high school years. She also played varsity soccer at Bothell High School and four years of collegiate soccer at Whitman College, a small Division III school in Washington where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Since then, she has coached youth soccer at recreational and competitive levels. In addition to her passion for soccer, Lindsay loves working with young kids and has taught preschool for five years and has worked with kids of all ages for 12 years. She is currently loving being a mom to her sons who are ages one and three.
Coach Rachel L.
Coach Rachel grew up in Napavine, Washington, where she became involved in soccer at age 3. She played high school varsity soccer for four years, becoming captain her senior year. After high school, she played soccer for Lower Columbia Community College before sustaining a knee injury that ended her soccer career. However, Rachel was able to further her passion for soccer by coaching at Napavine and Centralia High Schools for 2 consecutive seasons. After graduating with her AA degree, Rachel worked as a para-professional in multiple elementary schools while also coaching middle school basketball. Recently, Rachel graduated with her BA in English Literature with an additional secondary education endorsement in Language Arts from Western Washington University, where she was a nanny for 5 different families and played intramural soccer. She loves sharing her diverse passions for soccer, coaching, and teaching with Soccer Shots Seattle, and finds joy in engaging children in a youth program that teaches them soccer skills as well as character development.
Coach Lauren grew up in Brownstown, Michigan and played club soccer for the Michigan Hawks. She played 4 years of D1 soccer at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a B.A. in Biological Basis of Behavior. She has always been fascinated with the intersection between the brain and the body and completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Science. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and has worked with middle schoolers, high schoolers, college athletes, and adults. She is an avid fan of the game and loves cheering for Chelsea in the premier league, as well as supporting the NWSL as a Seattle Reign season ticket holder. Working with Soccer Shots allows her to continue to be involved in the sport she loves, while also encouraging kids to be active and confident in themselves. When not studying or seeing clients, Lauren loves hiking with her dog, reading, or catching up on Netflix.
