My name is Coach Colin and I was born in Mississauga and raised in Waterloo! I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old, and I have played for several competitive and non-competitive teams throughout my life as a goalie and as a player! I currently work as the Program Coordinator and Director of Coaching at Soccer Shots Waterloo Region, and I graduated from Laurentian University with a degree in Sports Administration in 2021! I love working with kids because I love putting smiles on faces and sharing my love of soccer with every child I meet! Playing soccer has taught me the importance of teamwork and respect! My favorite games to play are Red Light/Green Light and “What Time Is It Mr. Wolf?”! I'm so excited to meet everyone on Soccer Island!
Hello Friends! I’m Coach Emmalene! I grew up surrounded by sports and from a young age, soccer has been a big part of my sports journey. I played recreational and rep soccer in both Kitchener and Waterloo from the age of 3 until I was 18. I have worked with children in several settings; as a camp volunteer and counselor, volleyball coach, and field hockey coach. I am passionate about helping children to learn and grow through physical activity and sports! Currently, I am studying Kinesiology at Wilfrid Laurier University, where I am also a member of the Women’s Field Hockey Team. I can’t wait to share my love of soccer and meet you all on Soccer Island!
Hello Friends! My name is Coach Ashleigh! I have played soccer all my life, and have learned lots of important skills that have helped me coach younger children! Coaching with Soccer Shots has opened my eyes to new opportunities. I now aspire to be an elementary school teacher someday. I have so much fun every time I get to coach with the kids. Hello Friends! My name is Coach Brooklyn! I was born in Georgetown, Ontario, and recently moved to Cambridge. I played soccer when I was younger and spent most of my life playing competitive hockey. I studied Therapeutic Recreation at the University of Waterloo, and I am currently enrolled in the Recreation and Leisure Studies Master program at the University of Waterloo. I love working with kids because they bring excitement to everything we do! I also love to teach and help kids achieve milestones! Playing soccer, and sports in general has taught me how to be a team player and how to work within a group to achieve a similar goal and my favorite game to play is freeze tag! I'm excited to meet everyone on Soccer Island!
Hello Friends! My name is Coach Claire and I was born in Oakville and raised in Cambridge. I have been playing soccer since I was 2 years old, and I have played for several competitive teams starting when I was 7. I currently go to school at Wilfrid Laurier University where I am studying Kinesiology and Physical Education. When I am not in school I work as a supply teacher in Guelph and for the YMCA summer camps. I love working with kids because it is such a rewarding experience and I love to share my knowledge of soccer with them in an enjoyable way! Playing soccer has taught me the importance of hard work and the love for the game. My favorite games to play are What Time is it Mr. Wolf and scrimmaging! I'm so excited to meet everyone on Soccer Island!
Hello Friends! My name is Coach Hana, and I was born in Toronto and raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario. I started playing soccer when I was 8 years old, and I played for 6 amazing years. Currently, I'm in my fourth year of Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University. I really enjoy working with kids, their contagious enthusiasm and energy never fail to bring me joy! Through soccer, I've learned the value of teamwork and relying on each other during the game. But most importantly, I believe in having a blast while playing! When I'm not kicking it on the soccer field, my favorite sport to dive into is swimming. I love being outdoors, in the sun, and making a splash at the beach! I'm so excited to meet everyone on Soccer Island!

I currently work here at soccer shots and will be taking a year off in school until I move into firefighting at Conestoga College! I love working with kids because they bring lots of positivity and I enjoy making them happy! Playing soccer has taught me about teamwork and collaboration skills. Hello Friends! My name is Coach Karley. I was born and raised in Waterloo, Ontario. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 and I played for Timbits as a child and Kitchener Soccer Club in my teens. I currently have my diploma in Early Childhood Education and work with children from infant to school age. I am now in my third year at Conestoga College for the Bachelor of Early Learning Program Development! I love working with kids because it is incredibly rewarding to see them learn and grow. Playing soccer has taught me numerous things such as teamwork, self-confidence, and the importance of perseverance. My favorite soccer games to play are Kick the Cones and Red Light/Green Light! Hello Friends! My name is Coach Lauren and I was born and raised in Oakville, ON. I have been playing soccer since I was four years old and I played organized soccer for about ten years! I recently graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Criminal Justice and Public Policy. I love working with kids because it’s rewarding and super fun, I especially like laughing with them! Playing soccer has taught me sportsmanship and the importance of trying your best. Hello Friends! My name is Coach Maddie, and I was born and raised in Durham, and moved to Waterloo for school! I have been playing soccer since I was 13 years old and played on my school’s soccer team growing up. I currently work as a behavior therapist and as a soccer coach at Soccer Shots! I just graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Child Studies. I love working with kids because it provides me with the opportunity to both learn from them and teach them. I think every day is a chance to grow and learn, and I value the opportunity to inspire children to find happiness in learning new things and skills through their experiences; as well as being taught by children to have fun and appreciate the simple things in life! Hello friends! I’m Coach Mike! I was born in Windsor and grew up in Cambridge. I’ve been a sports guy all my life and have played and coached hockey, baseball, football, and of course SOCCER! I’m a father with young kids and have had the chance to coach their soccer teams, experiencing firsthand the fun of and excitement of it all. The Soccer Shots curriculum has proven to me just how capable young children can be when encouraged and engaged! It’s not just a soccer practice, it’s a life character and confidence-building program! I love seeing the excited and happy faces week after week, and I can’t wait to see everyone on Soccer Island!
Hello Friends! My name is Coach Patrick! I was born in Toronto and raised in Vancouver British Columbia! I have played soccer since I was 4 years old and continue to play recreationally to this day! I am currently studying Kinesiology and Theatre and Performance at the University of Waterloo. I love working with kids because they have an energy that brings me so much joy and I learn so much from working with kids! Hello Friends! My name is Coach Rocky, I was born and raised in Kitchener and Waterloo! I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old and I continue to play competitively and recreationally! I studied and graduated from Conestoga College with a diploma in Occupational and Physiotherapy Assistance. I am currently working as a Youth Soccer Coach with Soccer Shots, and I am a co-owner of "Mindful You" at the St. Jacobs Farmers Market. I love working with kids because I love learning from their wonder and curiosity as well as sharing my passion for soccer!
